arab_freak Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Look closely at the Windows XP start button when putting your mouse over it, and you will see a small pink dot in the corner. You need the silver skin in order to do it, you might have to wait for the little "Click here to begin" box to disappear. Why does it appear? http://pinkdot.ytmnd.com/
Guest Stefkov Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 i just checked that wierd. they ust have done a pink version or something. or maybe just for fun they did it.
Ashley Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Moving to tech because its techish. Anyway that pink looks like the transparent pink for making icons and stuff, maybe its to do with that. But at the end of the day, I don't care.
arab_freak Posted April 19, 2006 Author Posted April 19, 2006 my guess is microsoft use magenta as a mask colour for the buttons, its common for games anyway hehe, i might be right, and someone at microsoft cocked up magenta is red=255 green=0 blue=255
Jon Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Not meaning to sound harsh, but havent you got anything better to do?
AshMat Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Who in their right mind spends their time looking for this stuff?
arab_freak Posted April 19, 2006 Author Posted April 19, 2006 All I did was plug a topic from one forum to another, jeez.
Sanchez Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Microsoft put it there because there was a huge movement complaining about Microsoft's homophobic attitudes.
Gaijin von Snikbah Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 OMG, its real. Someone at MicroSoft has just lost their job.
The3rdChildren Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 I thought this was pretty interesting, and random. Never noticed this before. That and I have increased respect for Arab Freak since he started using Marty McFly in his avatar.

Yeah, I was about to say, you should cut him some slack now he's changed his avatar (I'm not on a PC to check whether that pink dot is actually there or not....)
dabookerman Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Yes its true, i can now read arab freaks posts without wanting to punch the screen (Y)
arab_freak Posted April 19, 2006 Author Posted April 19, 2006 Avatarism. ^^ My avatar in any other forum, too bad this board restricts it.
Ashley Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Hmm its a mighty shame, as its ugly, annoying and boring.
arab_freak Posted April 19, 2006 Author Posted April 19, 2006 Hmm its a mighty shame, as its ugly, annoying and boring. Are you kidding me? It matches my mood half the time. Punch any screen to continue.
fatnickc Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Microsoft put it there because there was a huge movement complaining about Microsoft's homophobic attitudes. Whilst you were probably joking, it is highly incorrect. To my knowledge, Microsoft have been a great supporter of homosexual rights in the areas they work in. Oh, and I use hot pink as a colour for transparency when I program on the GBA, as I rarely use it in actual sprites.
Jack Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 My Live Messenger Beta icon has a pink dot as well. D:
AshMat Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Maybe it's a watermark thing? My msn BETA doesnt have that, but mine has the 2 people not one
Guest Jordan Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Indeed Blue Ninja0, i too share your enthusiasm for this thread.
