Shaithan Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 http://revolution.ign.com/articles/702/702284p1.html Sounds cool.
RevoJack Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Hudson and a Flight Game... hmmm... dont husdon make like Mario Golf/Tennis etc
*Dalco* Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 good use for the controller (though we all knew a flight sim could be done) but would be a good game for when the revo demo pods are sent out to store. i really do hope it is a pilotwings sequal i've been wanting one for too long now.
Guest Stefkov Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 i don think i could play it like i would be holding a paper aeroplane. not that its been mentioned but i dont ike the sound of playinga game like this like that. maybe they'll box the game with a stand which you can slot your FHC into the port side donw, then you can use it as a poper fliht simulator control stick. ? .
*Dalco* Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 it does sound strange using the FHC like a paper areoplane but last year when they had those tech demos most journolists who had a go said the areoplane one was very responsive. I think if it is going to be controlled like we are thinking it will have to be one of those thing what need to be tried in store
Owen Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 This could well be 'pilot-wings' you know! They may have just called it a flight-game to keep it a surprise for E3! What do they mean by 'Gesture-System' when talking about controls?
DCK Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Sounds like Pilotwings to me. Seems like a game for Hudson to develop.
Nick Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Hudson and a Fight Game... hmmm... dont husdon make like Mario Golf/Tennis etc No, Camelot does that. Hudson are in charge of Mario Party. A 'flight' game. Hmmm, not Pilotwings, because someone else is taking care of that. Would most likely be a new flight simulator of sorts.
Nintenchris Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Maybe Mario party 8: Aeroplane madness..... or something!
colormonkey Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 planetgamecube.com has a good guees what the gesture-system could be: Mike S says: The fact that "gesture system" is quoted out to me implies that in addition to the gyro technology, the controller's drivers are pre-written with some sort of system to recognize gestures (perhaps drawing letters in the air to make them appear on screen for a simple example). Could this be one of Nintendo's "secret" Revolution features?
DCK Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Could this be one of Nintendo's "secret" Revolution features? If it would be, it wouldn't be a feature but an application. Using the controller in some way doesn't mean it's a feature of the Revolution, likewise handwriting recognition isn't a feature of the DS. Just thought I'd say something pointless
elitemario Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Please let pilotwings be a launch title... if its developed by Hudson or someone else, isn't very important.. Maybe Nintendo will make it inhouse... Pilotwings is still on my top5 of N64 games, and top10 games of all time list... But how well did pilotwings do back in 1995-1996 when released... im just thinking, why didnt we see a pilotwings on GameCube? And if its really not that popular or wanted, is there even a chance we'll get it on Rev?

Could this be one of Nintendo's "secret" Revolution features? Isn't this just the same as in Redsteel, where you draw an X in the air to do a melee attack? It doesn't seem like a feature. It's what I expected the controller to do. It can't be the 3 rd secret
DCK Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Had a nice day Nintendork? Feeling to elaborate at all?
Fierce_LiNk Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 I think it sounds good. Nice ideas, and excellent use of the controller. Can't wait to see this game in action.
Nintendork Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Yeah it was okay, just picked up my Cube.. no games on it though, it's looking so ready to be played. Will have to track down some games in town tomorrow, so excited. Anyway yeah besides Bomberman Hudson has never made waves for me.. I've never really been excited by their games and it always felt like it was a one hit wonder developper. I may be mistaken, the PC engine which is going on the Revolution's virtual console could have some real gems and I'm totally open minded to those. But a flight game? I just imagine it to be a poor quality flight simulator in comparison to the kinds of titles you can get on the PC like the newly released X-plane. The control scheme seems a little gimmicky really, and I imagine long flights and levels will get incredibly boring holding the controller like a paper plane- or in any plane position. I'm sure it will be great for a group of people who really dream of flying.. and it's better to satisfy their demands than leaving them in the dark. What the hell was pilot wings about anyway? Did it even have a story? or did you just fly around? It would need some really great gameplay to make up for the distinct lack of story.
gaggle64 Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Could it be Pilotwings returning? Oh PLEASE GOD YES!!!!!!111
ShadowV7 Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 We alread know Pilotwings is getting made but this might be something different altogether.I wonder it a flight sim will be released. This sound's good though ,looking forward to more news

Oh come on. I had to even register to get to reply to you. Can't you see the potential of Revmote in different kind of games? I mean think about it, the game detects the exact position of Revmote, so why not handle the Revmote like an airplane control stick? Here's a raw sketch out of it: ://img204.imageshack.us/img204/856/lento9fo.jpg (add HTTP in front of the link. Stupid 15 posts limit... ) Pulling back the stick would make the plane/chopper/whatever's nose go up -> you take some height. Pushing the stick forward would make the nose go down. The analog stick in nunchak-part would control the view, you just turn it around to see around you. No need to buy 100$ simulator joysticks to enjoy flight games, and Revmote will kick ass compared to normal pad control. I'm quite excited about this game, so let's not give death sentence yet, ok? Oh, and Starfox Revolution would be so great with that kind of control style. What the hell was pilot wings about anyway? Did it even have a story? or did you just fly around? It would need some really great gameplay to make up for the distinct lack of story. No story, just pure joy of flying. Pilotwings64 was definitely one of the best N64 games. No violence, no shooting, just flying around... Very different and relaxing. P.s Sorry about some odd terms, english isn't my native language.
