system_error Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 Today George Harrison Nintendos Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications confirmed to Gamefront that the Nintendo Revolution will launch with 20 games ready. One third will be from Nintendo the rest is from third party developers.
NintendoRevo Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 You got a link from the source? Either way awesome news
The fish Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 Oh, crap, this launch is going to cost me even more...Still at least the games are £10 cheaper than on xbox360 or ps3, and the system is wayyyyyyyyy cheaper.
system_error Posted April 8, 2006 Author Posted April 8, 2006 Well it is on Gamefront.de but they don't have any source so I guess it is their own information from a magazine/interview.
Towers Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 If this is true I better start saving for both the Rev and it's games. I think £350 would be an okay amount to start up my Rev gaming. I really need to pay off some holidays first though

Copy and Paste, add the rest in, edit etc.. Don't forget the Virtual Console which will house A grade titles from the NES, SNES, N64 (minus those developped from RareWare) and backwards compatibility from GameCube games.
EchoDesiato Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 6.666666666666666 Nintendo games? This'll be a pricy launch.
Towers Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 Brothers In Arms 3 - Feb 2007 release though, not launch title
Towers Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 Yeah I realised that but I didn't want to make it look as though i was stating a launch game. I think it would be a cool launch game. I wouldn't be surprised to see a FIFA game launch with it too
Kav Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 Nintendo titles in development....3. Legend of Zelda Revolution [launch]... By this I'm guessing you mean Twilight Princess?!
Guest Stefkov Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 wow 20 titles at launch! gotta start saving up! if the games are £40, theyll be £30 at gameplay wont they? so thats: £40 x 20 = £800 or £30 x 20 = £600 hmm i wont be buying all at launch. maybe a few.
LazyBoy Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 20 games, hmmmmm Six will be first party or second party games, with one being pushed back to shortly after launch day. Four will be rushed third party games, basic on a single gameplay element that although may work, ends up with a short lived game. Five will be ports. One will be pushed back. Five will be decent third party games, like the much anticipated Red Steel. Two will be pushed back. Well thats my guess.
Pit-Jr Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 I keep seeing Kid Icarus being listed.. Has that been confirmed anywhere?
Nintendork Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 I keep seeing Kid Icarus being listed.. Has that been confirmed anywhere? IGN don't but a source would be appreciated. I think Reggie was talking about Kid Icarus (his favourite game) I'll add a sidenote as speculation until otherwise. Wikipedia says without a source: "legendary gaming creator Shigeru Miyamoto hinted that a Kid Icarus sequel may be released for the Nintendo Revolution, nearly 20 years after the original Kid Icarus was released on the NES. A few weeks later, a Kid Icarus game appeared on IGN's Revolution games TBA list. He is also one of the widely debated characters that may be included in Super Smash Bros. Revolution." edit for Reggie: "Reggie Fils-Aime, has repeatedly said that if we wanted it, it would come."
The fish Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 You are fogetting the game ubisoft is publishing by Free Radical. oh, and where is bigtac when you need him.
Nintendork Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 Task for people: try and narrow down the 14 Nintendo titles we 'know' down to the 6 ot 7 most likely to be at launch. I'm guessing Pennant Chase baseball will because that popped off the radar about a year ago for the GameCube- if it's been held back for Revolution sports series then they've had plenty of time and it would make a launch likely. Any other thoughts?
ShadowV7 Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 Hot Stuff,I need to get atleast 4 ,I really need to save up. Console -£130 (for now) Extra Pad-£25 (Duel Wield or Friend) SD Card -£30ish (For Virtual Console and Save Games) 4 Rev Games - £120 Couple Virtual Console Games - £10 Total -£310 - God I better Save up
Hal_9Million Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 I think I'm going to be out of pocket this November, but at least my brithday is in November, so I can take advantage of that. I can see the Revolution being my biggest spending spree for a console so far. I'm going to have to have at least 2 controllers at launch to take advantage of multi-player, and I'm going to have to get a decent amount of games, say 3 or 4, and I'll need an SD card, though I may just use the one from my digital camera, or if possible, use my external hdd. But, at least after all the spending, I'll still have money spare. The kind of money I wont have if I buy a PS3. I bet a Revolution + extra controller + SD card + 3 or 4 games is less than the price of the PS3 alone. I would laugh if this was true. So far, I reckon I'll get: Super Smash Bros. Mario revolution Red Steel and I've not decided on the last game. I'm hoping that highstreet stores will offer us plenty of money-saving packs to choose from. GAME usually do this, as do HMV.
DCK Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 20 games, wow. As for Nintendo - there'll be Super Smash Brothers, Kirby, Animal Crossing and the new IP would be good guesses for launch. I have a feeling they might have a longer development for Metroid Prime 3 might get more development time (they're right in doing so). Man, November is going to be hurting my bank account. Rev, 3 games and accessories, Twilight Princess, Phantom Hourglass and Children of Mana
Towers Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 Surely Mario 128 (Whatever it's called) will be a launch title for sure. I can't imagine it not being
