zatoichi Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 Anybody else here into Dragonforce? I am going to see them tonight (Saturday) at the Zodiac in Oxford. Will be awesome. They are English, but the guitarist is Japanese-English. Fast as fuck pop-power metal, cheesey as you like. These guys could play the soundtrack to F-Zero.
Athriller Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 I have friends who hump them and are off to see them too on saturday. I was planning to go too, but had other plans. I like what I've heard, enjoy the show.
Noodleman Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 yeah I like dragonforce in cheesey over the top way
Tom Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 they are really cool, especially the guitarist. powermetal is great fun, especially when the band doing it dont take it too seriously.
Surrealist Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 Never heard of them, are they still fairly small-time or am I just ignorant?
Noodleman Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 Never heard of them, are they still fairly small-time or am I just ignorant? Erm there fairly well known on the metal scene but pretty much ubheard of amongst the mainstream masses.
zatoichi Posted September 24, 2005 Author Posted September 24, 2005 Haha, Noodleman summed it up pretty nicely. If you're not hardcore into metal, you probably won't know Dragonforce.
Haver Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 Some of the crazy kids at sixth-form are into their beats.
Mr. Bananagrabber Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 I love Dragonforce! NP- Fields Of Dispair
zatoichi Posted September 25, 2005 Author Posted September 25, 2005 YEAH!! Dragonforce!!! Was fucking amazing. Right at the front, slapping hands and all those gubbins. I could've shown Herman Li a thing or two on guitar though Got the setlist as well!
Mundi Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 great band but it´s not nearly as chessy Rhapsody
zatoichi Posted September 25, 2005 Author Posted September 25, 2005 Hahaha, Rhapsody, full on Orchestral Power Metal. Almost as cheesy as Michael Bolton.
The Bard Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Anyone going to the Inhuman Rampage: Second Strike tour?? DF have a few very classic songs, each album is special in its own way, my fave is Valley, cause of Black Fire and Evening Star, two awesome live songs...
Dan_Dare Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 These guys could play the soundtrack to F-Zero. fucking yes.
The Bard Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 fucking yes. Noooo...I should do the soundtrack to F-Zero. But I think Dragonforce would do a pretty awesome job too.
Mokong Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Dragonforce are fracking brilliant, some of the best guitar riffs/solos i've heard in ages all really energetic powerful stuff that just makes you wanna mosh in room like your at a gig. I hope to see them live one day, they came to ireland once but i was unable to go (damn you empty bank account). I've been tempted a few times to put a video of myself playing air guitar to Through the Fire and the Flames on youtube...but have so far resisted EDIT: well there is this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPK3y5M7XMc but i was just messing with my new phone and wanted to see how a video from it looked on youtube and i happened to be playing that CD
