Hero-of-Time Posted May 20 Posted May 20 A JRPG focused Indie show is airing at the end of the month. 3 1
drahkon Posted May 20 Posted May 20 Oh, I see a monster battler 42 seconds into the trailer? Nintendo's lawyers rubbing their hands. Seems like a great show, though. Not gonna tune in, but looking forward to reading up about the games

Hero-of-Time Posted Friday at 06:18 AM Posted Friday at 06:18 AM It doesn't surprise me why many indie developers are struggling to make ends meet. The show really highlighted that there are simply far too many games being made. Sure, a lot of the games shown look great but realistically how many are going to get the numbers needed for them to be considered a success? 1 1

There’s no way that anyone has the time to play them all; hell even have time to even find out about everything coming out! 2
Cube Posted Friday at 04:15 PM Posted Friday at 04:15 PM 18,825 new games were released on Steam last year. That's approximately four entire N64 libraries every month. 1

killthenet Posted Friday at 05:05 PM Posted Friday at 05:05 PM It would be interesting to know how many of those are asset flips or AI generated slop (it's probably a big percentage) but yeah, there are still way too many genuine games released each year - it must be so hard for devs without contacts or an inbuilt audience to get noticed 1
