I'm not far off reaching HR100. I'll probably hit it this evening.

I've been finding that doing SOS missions in the late game arena type stage makes for some easy hunting. There's no need to be faffing about traipsing through the massive levels when you can SOS, spawn in at the only camp in the stage and are only a few steps away from the fight. It's made for some quick and easy crown hunting. There are a few monsters, namely the 4 Apex beasts, that don't show up in the area type stage and so I'll have to go fight those on the maps.

I see next weeks event quest will drop armour spheres. These things seem a lot harder to come by than in the other games. There's a trading item that can be farmed and used to get a stupid amount of them and high end decorations, pretty much breaking the end game. I wouldn't be surprised if Capcom patch this method.

I love fighting both him and Xu Wu. The squid/octopus monsters are really fun to fight and because they have so many parts that can be hit, you can do insane damage to them with a fast weapon. He's probably the easiest of the 4 Apex bosses.

Other than SOS flares when I actually remember they are a thing just Goafer or on my own so far.

If it helps, you can set it so the SOS goes off automatically as soon as a mission starts.

First hunt complete! It's good to be back!  

As mentioned, I went with Hunting Horn. And I had no idea what I was doing
I read that it works similar to how it did in Monster Hunter: World but I haven't used it back then. I was a little confused with all the special moves like "store notes" and "encore" so I just went ahead and buffed myself and pummeled tongue-fiend into oblivion.

Decided to go with Balanced mode, 40fps/120Hz and it looks and runs fine! No complaints, yet.

Anyways, gotta take care of some things now because my flatmate is throwing a party tonight. Gonna play some more tomorrow

Finally managed to put a few hours into this.

Love it Reached the second area just now and fought the first monster there. Fun, but those little stabs annoyed the hell out of me.

Anyways, think I'm gonna do a few optional quests now before continuing with the main quest.

Just a little over a week since release and...

Yeah, that's pretty ridiculous for Monster Hunter. That's also with me playing other stuff and being at work all week. Very disappointing.

61 hours to platinum. Usually it takes around 200 but the changes to the crown system massively reduces it.

Perfect.

Never went for a Platinum with a MH game because of the crown system, but it seems to be much easier to acquire crowns now

Yeah, with you playing with your mates, you'll be able to get through it even quicker if you trade your investigations.

I doubt I'll start with the Platinum hunt before the inevitable expansion, though  

I'm currently taking my sweet time with the game. Just reached Chapter 2 after 10 hours.
