Okay, so PlayStation just put up a video with all of the weapons and mechanics overview rolled into one:

Why they couldn't just do that from the start, I don't know, a Gamescom countdown or something I guess :p

So they go ahead and make arguably the best Felyne designs ever (that even get praise from H-o-T! :heh:), bonus Palico armour sets for having MH World save data, but then they don't bring back Prowler mode? :nono:

Damn it. It was such a unique, flashy and hilarious weapon type to use.
Looks like it will forever remain exclusive to MH Generations.

Well... I guess it's gonna be Hammer time again then. :D

  • Julius changed the title to Monster Hunter Wilds (28th February 2025)

Per the game's English TGS stream, it will be aiming to run at 60 fps on a base PS5 console, though it seems to be using frame generation to do so.

Going to look amazing on the Pro, and really happy that it's going to be able to kind of cheat to 60 fps on the base PS5 – the option is always nice to have!

Got the Beta test version downloaded, it has a crazy long shader compilation process! :o
Oh well, I'm ready to roll once the servers are live. :bouncy:

I recommend anyone that'll be playing on PC to run the game and get the shader comp done ahead of time. ;)

Oof! Game is ridiculously heavy/badly optimised on PC!
There's no way I'd be able to play this on my current setup without it looking like a PS1 game (not an exaggeration :heh:) and running at 30fps to boot. So yeah, unless there's some miracle optimisation done by Capcom between now and February, the only realistic chance of me still checking this out at launch would have to be via GeForce Now.

Shame, but at least I know in advance. ::shrug:

On the plus side, the character creator in this is amazing! Best there's ever been in a MH game for sure.

By all accounts it's pretty rough on a base PS5 as well.

Yeah, it seems like only those playing on PS5 Pro or a stupidly high-end PC will be getting a good experience with this game. So in reality, not that many people. :hmm: There's a lot of talk about RE Engine just not being suitable for open world games, and it looks like the performance of Dragons Dogma II and now MH Wilds confirms that. Such a shame. :(
