New NOM

Recommended Posts

*checks age* oh; that explains it then.

NOM was not funny. It stopped being funny when Dave McComb took over, and basically made it into pokécentral and set its stall out to entertain the young'uns with its plastic humour(ie-they were trying to be funny; real funny is when youcan be funny even when they're not trying to be).

Tim Street further ruined the mag, and I for one am glad I have not been a regular reader for quite some time.

You sir, are a complete bastard.

I know NOM don't try to be funny sometimes, but I find it hilarious even when they don't. They were immature true, but it's hilarious IMO. I loved NOM in the olden days, before Dave McComb, loved it when Tim Street was there, and I'm sure will love it now. I don't just collect NOM, I collect Edge too, which is much more informative and interesting, and I oddly collect Games.

woah; calm down matey; i think the magazine is weak. I have a different opinion, and a valid one. No need to get touchy all of a sudden is there? Calm down, it's just a magazine, and at its heart, it is a kiddy mag.

Oh; and if you loved it in the old days, just when were you reading from? The last editor who was a good un was Dave Upchurch. When he left pre-N64, I lost my interest tbh.

Touchy? Heh, no. I love that swear word and often use it, I respect your opinion but I think differently. I made a yearly subscription to the new NOM and hope to get it Feb 8th.

As long as they have an awesome Metroid Prime Hunters review/preview :D

What forum was this?

I read it on Gamesradar so I wouldn't be sure it was right but it makes sense that the new mag will follow on seamlessly from the old, especially as this info was announced a few months ago.

Also, that cover picture might just be a mockup rather than what the first issue will actually look like. We'll see I suppose!

The magazine will be edited by Lee Nutter, formerly of PSW, joined by Associate Editor Chandra Nair, who joins Future from Highbury's unofficial Nintendo title, Cube. Official Nintendo Magazine will also include contributions from a wealth of respected games journalists including Margaret Robertson, Jes Bickham, Mark Green and Tim Weaver.

Boosting interactivity with readers of the magazine, Future will soon be launching a brand-new website for Official Nintendo Magazine, to be located at http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk – enabling fans to react and discuss the latest news from Nintendo as it happens, under the watchful eye of Online Editor, Tom East, former editor of Nintendo GameCube magazine NGC.

With unrivalled access to the biggest Nintendo-related stories, Official Nintendo Magazine speaks exclusively with the creators of Resident Evil: Deadly Silence, Megaman and Street Fighter, Capcom about their plans for Revolution. Group Publisher for Official Nintendo Magazine, James Binns said:

Creating a magazine Nintendo fans can be proud of has been a labour of love for the experienced editorial team led by Steve Jarratt and Lee Nutter. There's always been a hardcore base of Nintendo gamers and with the remodelled DS and hotly-tipped Revolution the firm is likely to open things up even more to a wider audience of gamers, all looking for new ways to play."

Dawn Paine, Marketing Director, Nintendo UK, said:

"As Nintendo continues to revolutionise the world of gaming, 2006 is shaping up to be a great for Nintendo and we are very pleased to have Future on board with us to create a truly unique magazine for Nintendo fans of all ages."
