killthenet Posted Saturday at 04:00 PM Posted Saturday at 04:00 PM (edited) Well there's a report today about how Bungie is in a bit of a state about how Marathon has been received so far (not helped by the pretty clear plagiarism claim lobbied against them). They are considering delaying it to do more polishing but it's not a very good start to be mired in controversy already. I don't think the generic title will really help them either, it certainly didn't help the last live service failure (I literally spent like 3 minutes trying to find out what the title of Concord was before I made this post - had completely forgotten what it was called) Edited Saturday at 04:03 PM by killthenet

I agree though, it's not a great name. Me and a lad at work were talking about Bungie just last week. All of their past FPS games have a really good feel and the gunplay is top notch but everything about the company is a shell of who they once were. Given all the stuff that has gone on with them since the acquisition, Sony must be fuming that they spent 3 billion on them, especially if Marathon flops.

Crazy how many things are coming to PlayStation from Xbox before Halo, really makes you wonder what their plans are for that franchise on PlayStation. Anyways, sure, I'm in for this. Good excuse for me to finally play the first game too.
Julius Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago The PlayStation Stars loyalty program is officially winding down, with qualifying points redeemable until November 2026. They're now looking ahead to what form a loyalty program could take next on PlayStation. Quote At Sony Interactive, we’re always experimenting with new and exciting ways to bring our community of players together to share the joys of gaming and create lasting memories. That’s why three years ago, we created PlayStation Stars, a loyalty program to celebrate our players. The unique program includes playing games to earn rewards – including our unique Digital Collectibles that pay homage to incredible games and our PlayStation legacy. The program has helped foster a deeper connection with fans around the world. Quote Since launching the program, we’ve learned a lot from evaluating the types of activities our players respond best to, and as a company, we are always evolving with player and industry trends. Through this evaluation, we have decided to refocus our efforts and will be winding down the current version of PlayStation Stars. We will continue to evaluate our key findings from this program, and are looking into ways to build upon these learnings. Quote Here are some key things to know as these changes take place: Starting today, PlayStation Stars will no longer accept new members for this version of the program. If members choose to cancel their PlayStation Stars membership starting today, it will not be possible to rejoin this version of the program, and members will lose all earned Points. Current PlayStation Stars members can still earn Digital Collectibles, Points and level up their status until July 23, 2025 at 7:59AM PDT | 3:59PM BST | 11:59PM JST. After this date, there will be no new PlayStation Stars Campaigns available, or any additional rewards or status benefits to earn. This version of the PlayStation Stars program will fully end on November 2, 2026 and current PlayStation Stars members can continue to redeem Points as long as their Points don’t expire before then. Quote We also wanted to let you know that PlayStation Stars members can still access their Digital Collectibles, even after these changes take place. We want to thank all of our players for supporting PlayStation Stars since the launch in 2022. As we explore new ways to evolve our loyalty program efforts for the future, we’ll continue to celebrate all of our players through the various community activities we have planned. The programs we create are all inspired by you, and we look forward to bringing you compelling new experiences for many generations to come. 1
Hero-of-Time Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Sad but it doesn't surprise me. The whole thing was half hearted and a lot of the times the thing just didn't work properly. 1

Yeah, honestly it reminded me of that community fair play function the console launched with and was demised after very minimal use. Just seems like such an afterthought. Bit of a shame, as well, because with so many of these Xbox-published games making their way over as digital-only releases, I was finally starting to rack up some decent points! Need to make sure I remember to cash out. Honestly, I think they should take a page out of Nintendo's book when it comes to the Platinum points. Let's see some unique PlayStation IP avatars and Welcome backgrounds, let's see some official merch made available for legacy IP, heck let's go beyond that and have the points be able to go towards hardware or have earn double points when spent on PlayStation first-party games, weekends/periods where points go further (I think LEGO has something similar), and have a similar approach where points go twice as far when buying Classics available through subscriptions (also make way more Classics available, lol). There's so much they could do, honestly Edited 9 hours ago by Julius

Jimbob Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Well, that's my £5 now and then gone. I just cashed out my last £5, so it's there for when i fancy a small deal.
