Hero-of-Time Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 I was browsing the PlayStation store last night and checked the featured deals section that was highlighting Indie games. Whilst scrolling down I noticed that the Nexomon bundle was showing up as free. I figured this was because I had bought and played the first game last year and that would be the one I could download. Nope. For some reason I was able to download the sequel for nothing! Chuffed to bits with this as I loved the first game and was eventually going to get around to purchasing the sequel. No idea why is occurred but free is free.
Happenstance Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 Debating between Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart and Sonic Superstars in the sale. Ratchet & Clank looks great but I've always been very hit and miss on the series, sometimes I love the games and others I just can't get into. As for Sonic I'm kind of just in the mood for a new Sonic game.

I'm still playing through Sonic Superstars and loving it so I could easily recommend that as well. 1
Hero-of-Time Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 This is still one of my favourite platformers and possibly one of the best that gen offered. It's such a shame the sequels sucked. Daxter on the PSP was amazing though. Baffling that it's still not part of the PS+ retro service. 1
Julius Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 (edited) Jim Ryan's Thank You Party in Tokyo is being held today... ...and what's that? A going away gift that's a PS1-themed PS5 (or PSone)? With a custom PS1-styled box? And look at that USB-C connecting cover, too?! I wouldn't buy a PS5 Pro if one launched next year at this point, as I don't think we've got close to seeing the PS5 at full throttle. But if they release a PS1-themed PS5 Pro for the 30th anniversary next year? Yeah, I'm buying one Still have regrets about not picking up the 20th anniversary DualShock 4 Edited December 7, 2023 by Julius
drahkon Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 So, @Hero-of-Time How happy are you that Jim Ryan is leaving? 1

Dcubed Posted December 7, 2023 Author Posted December 7, 2023 (edited) Bet he immediately threw the console/controller in the bin and said "why would anyone play this?" Edited December 7, 2023 by Dcubed 2
drahkon Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 (edited) Played Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising this morning for a few hours. There are fetch-quests galore. But you do get some materials for upgrading equipment as rewards which is nice. I do like me some incremental upgrades in RPGs The game's gorgeous but other than that it's nothing special. Combat is barebones and easy/boring. Exploration is relatively straightforward, which is weird given that it's apparently a Metroidvania. The story has barely been noteworthy, so far...doubt it'll change much. So yeah...mediocre in all aspects but I spent 3 hours with it today so I guess this is happening. Hero-of-Time Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 It's only 10-15 hours long anyway, so it's not exactly a long game.
Julius Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 (edited) Just a quick FYI, the PS5 seems to be having a bunch of download errors at the moment. I'd just deleted BG3 to make space for GTA V (I really need to get around to cleaning out my captures...), so, guess that's not getting installed and now I'm a BG3 down EDIT: seems to be resolved, so time to load up and drive around an airport some Edited December 8, 2023 by Julius

Deleted it and it will never be installed again. Edited December 10, 2023 by drahkon 1
drahkon Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 I've accepted the fact that I most likely won't finish more than one game this year. Not really into playing anything other than CoD: MWIII on my PS5 these days for whatever reason. So I decided to set myself one goal: Finish Kaze and the Wild Masks before 2024 hits. It apparently isn't a very long game, but given my lack of motivation and time it may be a close call

It's very much a love letter to the Donkey Kong Country series and isn't afraid to show this. It's a cracking indie game and a fun platinum to nab. Edited December 11, 2023 by Hero-of-Time 1
drahkon Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 Oh look, it's another one of those posts where H-o-T brags about having a Platinum. I'm now halfway through the second world and yeah, it's great fun Trying to get all the gems/crowns/stuff in one level before moving on and it's been challenging at times. Especially the time trials.

drahkon Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Can't sleep so I downloaded Powerwash Simulator. Never understood the appeal but I like giving games the benefit of the doubt. Main menu loaded up and I was immediately greeted with a "look, we have DLC that you can buy"-popup. Anyways, turned off the game's music, put on some music by The Beaches (great band by the way) and I've be been playing this for 60 minutes straight. I get it now.

Reveal hidden contents Impressive. How's the platinum for Jumping Flash!? I always wanted to try that one. And did you enjoy Humanity? It started out great but turned out to be too much of a timing-based puzzler for me... Aaaaand one more question: I recently started that Klonoa collection. Do you have to collect all the crystals in each level or are the 6 weird creatures enough? Edited December 12, 2023 by drahkon
