Very happy about this.

Kojima and his new team have done a great job with the trailers for Death Stranding, but many, myself included, were beginning to worry that more focus was being put on the trailers than actually getting development started; in hindsight, considering the talent - but varying degrees of a lack of expertise - throughout Kojima Productions, this could have been a great way for Kojima and Guerrilla to familiarise the team with the Decima engine.

I can see this going quiet until at least E3 of next year, and so a 2019/2020 release date is now starting to seem feasible simply because of this smart move. I suppose at this point, though, the question becomes whether PlayStation wants to use it as a means of closing out the PS4 in a strong way, bolstering the launch of the PS5, or, perhaps, even, both? Could cross-platform play be on the cards? Speculation aside, though, I wish Square Enix would follow suit when it comes to working on Final Fantasy VII Remake and Kingdom Hearts 3, mind... (then again I totally want to see them this year at E3 :/)

Very happy that Kojima will still be at E3 despite having nothing to show off himself. Nice reminder that all of these developers are gamers at heart :D

There's more E3 news still, though, with Geoff Keighley posting the Coliseum schedule on Twitter (I'll share it in full below, and please let me know if it's too long so that I can spoiler tag it - though I would typically do this without asking, I think there's a fair share of speculation to be had around the schedule's content, as there is a LOT):

So that E3 Coliseum has no Nintendo content? Surprising.

When Geoff announced his E3 plans last month there was no mention of Nintendo in those. Clearly they want to go it alone. It's no wonder they have problems getting 3rd party support when they isolate themselves from everyone else.

Great article in itself but these two quotes about E3 got me even more hyped :bouncy:

"I think a lot of Japanese developers lost their way chasing the mobile games yen, if you will, but they're coming back to console in a major way. And speaking of, we'll have some big announcements at E3 in that precise vein."

I was thinking about this quote last night. Out of all the big 3rd party Japanese companies to try and crack the mobile market I think Capcom are the ones that failed hardest. Could it be that Capcom will have a big presence at Sony's show? Maybe those Monster Hunter rumours are true or DMC5 is on the cards?

Looks like it.

I'm getting more and more anxious at Nintendo's E3 presence. My best mate told me yesterday: "Their offering will be ridiculous." That might be a bit harsh but I fear that it won't be good...

I have no expectations so I can only be pleasantly surprised. I always say that...

I don't give a damn about Monster Hunter but I would welcome a new DMC. The reboot was awesome.

I'm pretty darn excited as I love 3rd party Japanese games. Hope we'll see a JRPG onslaught :D

Given how little we have actually seen of Shenmue 3 at this point its probably a safer bet to assume 1 and 2 HD will come out before that ever does :(

Agreed. I just can't see any world where 3 actually makes it to release this year; I think a delay to summer/winter 2018 is more likely, with 1+2 HD possibly taking up 3's planned release date of December 2017.

I found it odd too, but then again, it is running the same days that Nintendo Treehouse is running, so anything Coliseum could offer regarding gameplay, etc., will more than likely be shown off at Treehouse.

Would love for the "surprise guests" to be a Miyamoto/Aonuma, Kojima, [insert more legendary names here] interview with Geoff, though I doubt this would happen :/

They just sent out a backer email today saying the release date has been pushed back to the second half of 2018.

I don't have to take that from you. Speak to me again when you watch the Sony conference live. :p

Hey, just because I may not take the week off doesn't mean to say I won't be watching the show live. I'll be getting up at half 1 in the morning and then go into work knackered.

EZA BETTING SPECIAL E3 2017

Take me to Valhalla

This was absolutely hilarious. My oldest nephew just happened to pop over as I was about to watch it, so we both sat and watched it together. He's never seen any EZA so I had to explain just what the hell was going on. He was well into it.

Huber had me in stitches so many times. His back and forth with Ultima Brad was great. When Brad said Jurassic Park 3 sucks (he's right) I couldn't stop laughing. When Blood said that a Licker would appear during a conference Huber got so excited. "NICE BET!!" :D

I have to say, clearly maths isn't the EZA strong point. Both looked like they didn't have a clue about what Don was asking of them and then when they were asked to actually do the equation they both looked like a rabbit staring into headlights.

My fear about Blood not getting into the role turned out to be true. He just wasn't as energetic or fun as the other guys. Saying that, I love what is going to happen if he actually wins the thing.

Sweet.

There are rumours going around that Rare will be showing off something other than Sea of Thieves. I'd love a Jet Force Gemini reboot.

So it looks like EA have confirmed FIFA, NBA, Madden, Battlefield 1, Battlefront II and Need for Speed Payback will be shown at their conference tomorrow along with a couple more surprises. Should at least be interesting to see what they are. I'd like to see something original appear.

Someone has found that Capcom USA have trademarked Monster Hunter: World. Could this be the open world PS4 game that was rumoured? Is the series finally coming back home? Tune in on Tuesday morning and find out! :D

How interesting...would this be more in line with Frontier etc and away from the numbered versions?

Can't remember if it was you saying you thought PS4 might get the mainline and Switch its own version, perhaps the opposite?

The grunt of the PS4 could really make this a great game if true :D
