I reckon the top of the league is trying to emulate the amazing and unpredictable Premier League season.

Hales must be having fun playing in the Lower League :P

What the actual fuck happened there... first loss, 8-1.

I had conceded like, 2 uptil that point.

3-5-2 Offensive is an insane formation to play away from home against a team as strong as Madpools, he also guessed your playmaker and formation and played offensive himself which spelt huge huge trouble for you.

Quarter Point

Round One

Games played this round:

Gibbs Probies 1-3 Recall United

LiVeRpOoL 0-3 AFC Dedede

Lords of Hydra 4-0 The Sixty-Fourthers

Madpool 8-0 Spurs

The new teams take a kicking in the first round of season 31 with each of them losing their games! I’m not sure if any amount of preparation could’ve softened the 8-0 blow dealt to Spurs by Madpool but hopefully they can roll with the punches and bounce back for next round. Despite that astounding win for Madpool, I think Lords of Hydra will be most pleased at the results this round as they demolished The Sixty-Fourthers 4-0. This is a great start to the season for Hydra who are only in their 3rd season and suffered a fair bit in a tough group in last season’s champions league.

Round Two

Games played this round:

Bob 5-4 Madpool

Spurs 1-2 Recall United

Lords of Hydra 3-1 LiVeRpOoL

AFC Dedede 4-0 Gibbs Probies

A closer game for Spurs this round but they still unfortunately lost out to Recall United although they put up a decent fight. The closest games for the new teams will be those they play against each other and it’ll be interesting to see who comes out on top. Bob come out of the shadows this round to remind Madpool that they aren’t the only big fish in a small pond and best them 5-4! It was a high-scoring game for both teams but bob were on top for the majority of it. If Madpool were taking this season for granted, this result will have changed their outlook for sure!

Round Three

Games played this round:

Gibbs Probies 0-4 Lords of Hydra

LiVeRpOoL 1-1 The Sixty-Fourthers

AFC Dedede 6-0 Spurs

Recall United 0-6 bob

It’s Madpool’s turn to sit out this round which allows bob to bask in the spotlight, easily winning 6-0 away from home against Recall! It was a good result for LiVeRpOol too this round as they managed a draw against veteran team, The Sixty-Fourthers. It may not look like much to celebrate but this is the first point earned for any of the new teams so far and it was so close to being 3 points if not for a disallowed goal in the 22nd minute! Lords of Hydra and AFC Dedede are both looking like tough teams to beat as both teams enjoy their third win in a row.

Round Four

Games played this round:

Bob 1-0 AFC Dedede

Spurs 0-5 Lords of Hydra

The Sixty-Fourthers 3-0 Gibbs Probies

Recall United 0-7 Madpool

Bob have a close call this round but manage to break AFC Dedede’s winning streak with a 1-0 win. Strangely it’s bob that have come away disappointed at only scoring one goal and AFC Dedede are pleased at keeping their opponents down to only three chances – a rare achievement when it comes to playing bob! After their disappointment last round, The Sixty-Fourthers took no chances against Gibbs Probies this round and make sure to come away with three points as they shut out their opponents to win 3-0.

Madpool were clearly well rested after last round’s break and poor Recall United didn’t know what hit them! Not only did Madpool win 7-0 away from home but they completely shut out Recall from even making a single chance! Lords of Hydra and bob are now the only teams to have won all of their games so far!

@Esequiel ;)

Spotlight

The last spotlight was on the game between Kippen FC and Russian Revolution. Players were to predict the outcome and the percentage of possession for each team.

The actual result was 0-0 to Kippen FC with 55-45% possession. The closest guess was Nikos9 who was the only person to predict a draw!

Standings:

Atlético Aqui1a: 1

Intergalactico Stars: 1

Next week the spotlight will be on Tuesday's game between Gibbs Probies and Spurs! Please predict the outcome and the defensive ratings of each team!

Holy shit it's Brian Mcoy! Welcome back dude!

We've just started a new season which won't end until the 29th of June... but if you want to create a team you can do so any time between now and then. Might be worth starting it up now so you get a sponsor bonus each week actually.

It'd be nice to get back to 30 teams again so there are at least 2 spots we need to fill for next season... get recruiting, lads ;)

Middle League Reports: Week 3

No room for error

bbe0c9ce520fb482fe1f4d48243327dc.jpg

The Middle League title race is turning into a two horse race between Coloccini FC and Hadens Legends that is leaving little room for any sorts of mistakes. Coloccini are the only team in any league to now have a 100% record with 5 wins while the Legends have won every game except when they faced Coloccini and lost. Both teams carried on this momentum as they won all their games to leave them as the only two sides to have more than 10 points. The Legends beat Leeds 3-0 with Walters taking a starring role creating and scoring a goal and then easily beat The Familia 4-0 with Conden scoring once and creating twice. Coloccini had a game off this week but were very impressive against Leeds dominating with 11 chances to 1 with Costa scoring twice. While theere is a long way to go these two sides have both started very strongly and have only let in 3 goals between them and scored 26, can they go the distance and who will prevail?

Aqui1a needing another transfer?

9+-+Disappointment+for+Torres+as+United+go+two+points+clear+at+the+top+of+the+table.jpg

There has been a lot of talk this season about how Aqui1as new players will bed in this season and for one he is having a dream season. The young striker Isler is on 5 goals already scoring from a breakaway to help Aqui1a beat Fedex 1-0 to add to his tally on Tuesday. However all is not well at Aqui1a, while Isler is having a great season scoring five goals the team itself have scored six in total meaning Upson's long range shot in the 1-1 draw against Rovers on Friday was the one goal this season that hasn't come from Isler. What is strange is that their midfield is full of potential goalscorers, you have a group that are good in the air and in front of goal but they have not been hitting the net recently. You wonder if the manager will have patience with Upson or find a more experienced partner for the incredible Isler.

Russian Revolution 1-2 Rossers Rovers

weimannhigh_1fmj3yvttn43e1uhxba9m04m8p.jpg?t=1654824960

This match may have snuck under the radar of some viewers but was a very significant result for both teams. After a great start to their campaign Revolution fans were starting to consider their team as potential dark horses for the title. However Rovers are a side not to be taken lightly and playing 4-5-1 they looked like they could cause Revolution issues, firstly Josema headed in a Yushchenko cross Rovers fans began to celebrate, things got worse for Revolution when Patrin fell going for a header and had to be taken off on a stretcher. This really weakened the home sides midfield and the pressure began to tell when Rovers thought they had scored just after the break but it was ruled out because of a push off play. However Amieva who came on after the break scored his first ever goal for Rovers when he smacked in a corner to make it two for sure this time. There was still time for Kalashnikov to score in the dying seconds of injury time but it was too little to late. Rovers will be very pleased with this result while Revolution will rue this loss and the injury to one of their best players.

Home is where the heart is

Homeofthe12thMan.jpg

For most teams a home game is something to look forward to however for Rovers fans this is not the case. They have only two points from their home games while scoring 6 points from their away fixtures. To put this into context they would be 2nd in the league in an away table but are rock bottom in the home table. Their next home match is against Kippen FC on the 27th of May, the home fans are planning on giving the team a rousing reception as they try and give the team their first win of the season. Their last victory at Chuffield Park was a 3-1 victory against AFC Dedede in the group stages of the Champions League on the 18th of March. The fans are long overdue another one.

Team of the week

Arsenal-v-Stoke-City--Premier-League.jpg

This week it has to be Hadens Legends who gain team of the week with their 3-0 and 4-0 victories over Leeds M.O.T and The Familia. They knew they needed both victories but they also needed to keep up with the impressive goal difference of Coloccini, scoring seven and keeping two clean sheets was a great way to do this. A calm and efficient Legends are the clear winners this week for stopping Coloccini get to far out of sight.

Team of the Week

Coloccini FC, Coloccini FC, Hadens Legends

The following tables will include more 2nd and 3rd spots when the field thins a bit.

There's not much call for new players in the top division as each team has invested in their current stock of players and want to raise them until retirement. You don't survive in the elite league by purchasing new players every season. The best way to maintain a strong team is to have the same players for as long as possible and raise them each season. This way they'll have excellent team compatibility ratings, gold hearts and high skill. Sometimes a decent youth will come through and they can be trained up to replace someone who may be retiring.

My money mostly goes on form training, youth academy and win bonuses (although I don't expect to be paying out much this season!)

Ait Peepsy I know how to play the game - check our league positions!

Generally agree but think that Zell has proved that buying (and selling) can be very beneficial in progression and strengthening. Not every season obviously, but big buys every now and then can work just as well as long term developers if you buy properly.

Horrible day for us on Friday but have been bouyed by the weekend.
