lostmario Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Wow, Wii is angry at everyone! ah but he has good reason this time. When has Wii Fit Girl being in Smash Bros been a big announcment.... No, Nintendo, NO!
D_prOdigy Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 that announcement probably wouldn't have even filled half a wii disc.
drahkon Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 And that's exactly why I love Nintendo. This is exactly why my love for Nintendo is fading.
Ville Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Nintendo, you friggin' trolls. Well if mah money no good for u, I go with Sony. Screw youz.
dazzybee Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I seemed to enjoy that conference a lot more than some of you. :p What we need to get into the mindset of is that Nintendo do things a bit differently. Just because there's no Metroid now doesn't mean that there won't be one shown in 6 months time. Look at Donkey Kong. That's a pretty close release. What would be better? Showing that a year earlier and still releasing it on the same date, or revealing it closer to the date? I go for the latter. The highlights for me were Donkey Kong and X. X looks fucking beautiful and Donkey Kong...God....HNNNNNNNGGGGGGG! Anyway, it's common knowledge that Nintendo fans expect way too much. You can't have Christmas, your birthday, Easter and the fucking Armageddon all at once. But it;s not about what games will eventually be on the system. It's about what games will be coming out this year. We've all been excited about Retros new game, the game to really show off what the wii u can do - and it's a 2d side scrolling platformer of a game we've recently played, and some are still playing through now on the 3DS; we've all been excited about what EAD are going to do with mario (it IS the next big mario from that company) and we get a multiplayer (probably local only) sequel to a 3DS game; and we get a 10 year old zelda game most of us have already played. Anyone can not be absolutely disappointed with this I have no idea. Yeah next year looks amazing. But that's next year
Wii Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I love Nintendo, grew up on Nintendo and Nintendo only but they've been seriously testing my patience the last number of years. It's constant mistake after mistake, saying they've learned their lessons but where's the proof? That interview with Reggie is just another example of it. He says it's about the games. Where are the bloody games Reggie? Wii Fit U. No thanks.
Serebii Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Mistake? Are Nintendo game's still top quality? Yes, absolutely Do they still sell? Yes What's the mistake That interview with Reggie is just another example of it. He says it's about the games. Where are the bloody games Reggie? Wii Fit U. No thanks. They showed you them. They didn't show Wii Fit U, they just mentioned it. Seriously...
Wii Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Mistake? Are Nintendo game's still top quality? Yes, absolutely Do they still sell? Yes What's the mistake Thanks for the joke. I really need something to laugh at right now besides their Direct. Or it would be funny if it wasn't so sad.
Serebii Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Thanks for the joke. I really need something to laugh at right now besides their Direct. Or it would be funny if it wasn't so sad. I'm sorry, do you require me to bring out statistics? You know I will.
Wii Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I'm sorry, do you require me to bring out statistics? You know I will. My point is you think Nintendo haven't made mistakes? Nearly everything they've done with the Wii U has been mistake after mistake.
liger05 Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Wii Fit girl in Smash Bros :l You have to be kidding me.
Happenstance Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 You have to be kidding me. I dont know why they held off the reveal. It would have saved the whole Nintendo Direct!
Wii Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I dont know why they held off the reveal. It would have saved the whole Nintendo Direct!:laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing: Take note Serebii that's how you tell a joke.
markderoos Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 You have to be kidding me. Have you seen the trailer for her? It's on the frontpage and actually quite funny (and unique in moveset) Typically lolwut character, might be fun
Serebii Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 My point is you think Nintendo haven't made mistakes? Nearly everything they've done with the Wii U has been mistake after mistake. I wholeheartedly disagree. While they messed up marketing and a few other things, they're well on the way to rectifying it, with at least one piece of first party software coming each month, including a sequel to the fastest selling 3D Mario of all time, a Zelda game (yes it's a remake but not everyone played it), a sequel to the popular Donkey Kong Country Returns game and more. I fail to see how these are mistakes. Just because they aren't the niche, yes niche, titles that you wanted does not mean that they are mistakes
Ville Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I think she's a good addition. Still, making her "an announcement" especially in this atmosphere was not good thinking...
khilafah Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 so just watched the trailers. Yeah they look great but most games are coming in 2014. still no decent 3rd party support and what the hell is coming out in 2013.. got no idea how Nintendo plan to sell the Wii U come holiday season.
V. Amoleo Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 The games they showed look really good. But... why has their stable of games become so limited? If it's not Mario it's Donkey Kong these days. I love the games, I really do. But please please please air out some of the other franchises.

Eightbit Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 My thoughts: I think the staging for the Nintendo Direct was pretty significant. Holding it from a massive empty room at Nintendo HQ where Iwata took time to mention the fact there would be a shareholders meeting the following month makes me think he was trying to tell us something. Nintendo are under massive pressure from their shareholders, and with that in mind, they have had to play it safe, and focus all their efforts on things that have been proven to sell, like Mario, DK ect. Nintendo need to sell consoles to the simpleton, in order to get its feet off the ground. Simpletons are not going to buy Star Fox, Metroid or anything they dont recognise, hence why i think we didnt get any Megatons which would make us fanboys cream. This is to appease the shareholders. I do not think it was a bad conference, after all i will probably be buying all those games that were shown (apart from 3rd party stuff and that downright offensive Wii Party U game), and i think that most of you guys on here would agree with that and be in the same boat, so for Nintendo to show me 7/8 games that i would put down as definite buys is quite good. I'm happy to play enjoyable (but admittedly uninspiring) games for the next year to get the console out of the shit hole that it's currently in. Because i know once the mass market is fed, that's when we will start to see true innovation coming our way. Because let's face it, us hardcore gamers dont make up a great % of those 100m Wii consoles sold, so we come 2nd.

I fail to see how these are mistakes. Just because they aren't the niche, yes niche, titles that you wanted does not mean that they are mistakes So that's why sales have been scraping their knuckles along the floor, but hey they're rectifying it starting with a unanimously positive E3 Nintendo Direct showcasing games that were supposed to be out already and others that won't make it out until 2014. Then there's DKCR2, that's what everybody was praying Retro were working on, yay. Where's all the 3rd party support? Poor OS, weak hardware. Where's the gamepad implementation? Etc.
canand Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Call Of Duty Ghost is comeing to Wii U by infinity Ward http://www.gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&id=204731
liger05 Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 It's all too safe. Nintendo need to start making some bold decisions. I feel its time to for a new AAA IP and basically run with it. It might not sell gangbusters but that doesnt mean they cant try and build something with a new IP. Nintendo have more than enough money to take the hit.
Zechs Merquise Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 that announcement probably wouldn't have even filled half a wii disc. I bow to you good sir, you have got in there before I could and with such graceful wit as well. : peace: Call Of Duty Ghost is comeing to Wii U by infinity Ward http://www.gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&id=204731 Canand, this is something you have made up and for some reason Gonintendo have taken you seriously - it is credited to you. I mean seriously, just because you claim it is true and a website covers your claim does not make it so.
