The Peeps
Looking through those 'newbie' games and there are so many terms and different language used it completely alienates me.

Sméagol
Decided to get rid of my last post. Obviously not a big point if you’ve already seen it, but I shouldn’t be guiding you too much. Have an updated vote count instead: Vote count Jimbob [5]: Cube / DuD / Sheikah / Diageo / Jon Dedede Yvonne [1]: Tales No lynch [1]: Magnus Peterson Absolute majority is 7. Majority has not been reached. Deadline is 17-05-2013 00:00 CET (16-05-2013 23:00 UK)
DuD
Ending day one with no lynch literally gives us nothing. We have nothing to go on thus far and come the end of the day we will be in the same position, however.. with one less person we either hit mafia OR have a better chance of hitting mafia in the future. We might gain some info from day 1 voting if we didn't have the Jimbob paradigm.. There's 4 types of people voting Jimbob. 1) Sheep who don't look for things themselves and just follow majority. 2) People who would rather see an inactive go before someone who is willing to get involved. 3) People who are pissed off at his standard sign up and dissapear. 4) People that don't care about any of the above and realise that a lynch today is good. The above really kinda fucks with the voting pattern, and so doesn't help us scum hunt.. so we either get jimbobs death out of the way or we'll constantly have this situation for however long the game lasts (as Jimbob will remain an easy scum vote unless he actually shows up). Rummy
Lynching when death is inevitable presently seems peculiar. However I love the idea of this game. Plus tbh nobody's even given Jimbob an opportunity to actually BE inactive yet. He could be the player of the match! That is if everyone wasn't just going to kill him tonight. Yvonne
From the above I think DuD is town, but I think Jimbob should be given the benefit of 24 hours before being killed off for behaviour in previous games. The game started at 11pm yesterday. If he's early to bed and early to rise and can't access the forum until he gets home from work, it's bullshit to kill him off for inactivity until at least 9pm tonight. Yvonne
One potentially annoying thing about the set up is that there wont be any undercurrent of vote co-ordination. That said, one thing to maybe look out for is people not voting for the scummiest players. But mafia have nothing to fear, there's no evidence for anything! Hrmm. One thing we will be able to figure out tomorrow is the minimum number of murderers (real value may be much higher due to duplicate targets). I'll be interested to know who, if any, will admit to murdering.

He has been really quite active on other boards (I have been talking about 3DS game codes with him), like he was during the last game. I don't know why he doesn't come back to the Mafia topics to respond but always seems to be around for sign up threads. To be honest, in this game there's nothing he can actually even respond with. We don't really have any info. For me this is just to teach him not to go inactive every game.

Mr-Paul
The thing with a lynch today is we've most got probably a 3/4 chance to hit a townie. Sure, lynching a townie increases the chances of hitting a mafia tonight/tomorrow, but is it worth the risk when we know nothing? Mafia don't know who each other are, so are just as likely to vote for other scum as they are townie, so voting patterns are really out of the window. So personally, I'd be more up for no lynching (unless Jimbob/anyone else is actually really inactive, but I think we should give him a chance for now) and then gaining a better picture on what's happening after a night of actions. In my opinion, all we really learn from day 1 voting is the alignment of the person who dies.
Diageo
Jimbob plays like a mafia's dream when town. Hardly contributes, easily swayed to vote one way and doesn't pay attention. Keeping him around, even when town is a hindrance to us all.

Yvonne
So, between now and tonight, anyone got any thoughts on the game? Another thing I thought of, that Diageo hinted at, is that townies aren't incentivised to act townish as much. Mafia want safe bets and wont be killing for powers, or necessarily even play style. At this stage its just important to not mess up and hit a teammate. So.....anyone planning on killing tonight?
DuD
Contemplating it. Its definitely not 'off' the cards. Might be my only chance to make an influence
Jimbob
Whoaa!!!!!. Lynching me on the first day, i have nothing to add to the game at all at present. This will just be a waste of time. I can understand why you wish to lynch me, because of inactivities in previous games. Vote: No Lynch
The Peeps
If people are intending to kill tonight, I'm curious to know what their criteria is for picking a target. If it's genuinely a random choice, we're all fucked. I don't want to go out on the first night :p

Vote: No Lynch We have discussed the game and the mechanics for two pages and we have the same amount of information as you, so I don't accept that you have nothing to add as an excuse for adding nothing. What are you planning to do N1?
