Retro_Link Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 (edited) Activision and Redfly's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, will release on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network this summer. Out of the Shadows is a four-player online co-op brawler with a "skill-based combat system built around combo-driven action." That could mean anything, but the concept is nice, especially after the Turtles in Time remake proved that simplistic combat doesn't do the trick anymore. Out of the Shadows is not based on Nickelodeon's ongoing, excellent animated series, but exists in its own "hyper realistic 3D-style" world inspired by the show. For a clearer look at what that means, check out these images of Raphael, Donatello, Michaelangelo, and Leonardo below. Not sure why there's no eShop version given the potentially younger audience, but still. 4 Player co-op is nice. The Turtles however look stupid. I'm not sure why any developer would not go for a cartoon/animated style when developing a turtles game but anyway. Edited March 5, 2013 by Retro_Link
MindFreak Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Their faces are so wrong it hurts! Other than that, I'll watch the game and expect the worst pile of shit ever but hopefully I'll be proven wrong. I'd love a good Turtles game.
Retro_Link Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 They look like the stupid Lizard design from The Amazing Spider-Man; too human looking.
dazzybee Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Oh god....this along with Bay... the Turtles really are being raped and left for dead...
Magnus Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 What's wrong with your faaaaaace? Those screenshots are the worst.
dwarf Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Looks like the Unreal Engine just discharged the vindaloo it had yesterday.
Ramar Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 The Raphael picture makes me want to create a time machine, go back in time and kill myself before I click this topic. Awful.
Shorty Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I can probably get over the faces but there's no mention of local co-op
Retro_Link Posted March 20, 2013 Author Posted March 20, 2013 OMG what a relief!! Makes you wonder why on earth they even bothered releasing those screens! The actual characters are looking a lot better, love the white eyes, but still yet to see new close-ups of the characters. The fighting and combat system actually looks really good and a lot of fun! Wonder how the game will work outside of multiplayer? AI turtles, or will you be the only turtle on screen?
Retro_Link Posted August 31, 2013 Author Posted August 31, 2013 LOL Gametrailers gave it a 2.4 :p http://www.gametrailers.com/reviews/u674wc/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles--out-of-the-shadows-review
lostmario Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 How hard is it just to make a 2D sidescroller sequel to Turtles in Time? Saddens me that 2D sidescroller beat em ups are dead.
Shorty Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Worst purchase of the year for me. I did a quick google and thought I saw that gamespot had given it 89%, so I just jumped in since I had the money in my account already. I was not expected the mess of a game I got Although I wouldn't say it's "2.4" kind of bad...
lostmario Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Just found out what music is on loop during the main menu of the game Audio Love it!
