Ashley Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Can you not log into more than one at once? We use Google Business Apps (or whatever the term is) for the site and I can be logged into both that and my personal one and just switch between them by clicking my picture in the top right corner with no need to log in again.
Daft Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 I have three of my accounts logged in with my main one being used for YouTube and the likes. Not really a problem. My only issue is that I have all the security options switched on for my main account and I can't log in to certain apps with it.

Cube Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 (edited) - Enable POP on other mail accounts. - Go to Gmail settings then Accounts and Import - Add your other Gmail accounts there. You can both receive and send mail from one inbox. Additionally, you can set filters and labels for mail. Also, there are quite a few sites which require you to log in with a Facebook account now. Edit: And another thing, if you wanted two Tumblr accounts, you would either need to use two email addresses or use the "." and "+" gmail address tricks. Edited August 22, 2012 by Cube
bob Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Once you've logged into one google service, it remembers you for all the others....
Diageo Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 It's easy to switch through accounts like everyone here has said already, and you can amalgamate all mail clients into one like Cube. I don't get why you don't just use all the google services from one account, instead of having one for each one, that's just impractical. One of the best things about the Google services, which I enjoy immensely, is that I can use all of them and they're all logged in for me when I go to them. Makes it incredibly simple to use all the apps on my phone as well. And I don't get all this creepy malarky. You're doing all the exact same things anyway and Google can see all of them if you use each separately. The fact that it's all tied to one internet entity makes no difference.
The Peeps Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 I only have one google account and I use hotmail rather than gmail. Never really had any issue with either one. Why do people need multiple gmail accounts?
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 I'm not too bothered from a practical viewpoint, but I do agree it unnerves me a bit when we're forced to link everything together, especially when it's enforced like on YouTube.

Diageo Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 You were able to switch which accounts were connected to your youtube account in the past, because I've done it. So it should be doable.
Cube Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/my_account_unlink Unlinke a YouTube account (you have to immediately link to another Google account).
Charlie Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Gets especially irritating when you're got a dozen different accounts Why not just have one Google account? I have every single service under one email address. I also have Google Apps for Business and when I want to access those services I use the multiple sign in option like others have suggested and I'm already logged in. Before that option was available I used a cookie switcher. If I ever need to access a Google page when I'm not logged in (useful when you're using the Keyword Tool or want to see your non-personalised search results) I use Chrome's Incognito mode. I'm even logged into Chrome so that wherever I go I can carry over my bookmarks and saved passwords on the new computer.
Cube Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 I'm even logged into Chrome so that wherever I go I can carry over my bookmarks and saved passwords on the new computer. It even keeps note of recent tabs, so you can open them on your phone/tablet or another computer.
Ike Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Is there a way to transfer your entire account to a different email address, I also don't want to use my old email address which I thought was a good idea back in Sixth Form but now stuck with. Personally I find the whole 1 account tied to everything massively convenient. Google brought out a new product? Oh. Look. I'm already signed up. Can see why it's a problem though, a friend said she had to create a Google+ account in order use favourites/playlists on Youtube. Chrome's sync is great. Didn't have to worry about by Chrome bookmarks/extensions/settings when formatting my computer. Had to back up up the browser data for the other users though. </Google Fanboy>
killer kirby Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 As long as google continue providing me with spell checks, free porn and pics of cats, I am all but happy with them.
bob Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 I also don't want to use my old email address which I thought was a good idea back in Sixth Form but now stuck with. Is it hilariously inappropriate?
