Xpert 11 Season 24: Hours a day

Haden

Recommended Posts

So, I'm promoted to the Elite league. 10 points ahead of 4th place. 3 games to go. 3 wins for 4th placed team means they can get a maximum of 9 points.

Excited, but so nervous. I'm probably going to have to invest in a better defence for next season. Or else, I'm going to get walked over.

Shit shit shit.

Round 15 – Season 24

Aussie FC (2) vs Andys Allstars (2)

Aussie hosted Andy in todays match. Both sides are out of contention for promotion, but both wanted to show they had something. It took 30 minutes for the sides to break the deadlock, a header from Antonio Mallo (Andys Allstars) opening the scoring. Dudley Ashe for Aussie hit back with a header of his own in the 49th minute equalising the score. A 54th minute sub for Andy (Tajo Anguita for Juliano Arteta). Aussie showed they were capable of by scoring once more in the 65th minute (Randall Pennant). Andys hit back with an equaliser of their own in the 85th (Esteban Guiza)

Possession: 55 – 45

Chances: 3 – 5

Man of the Match

(Home) – Tim Trigg

(Away) – Juan Pablo Capo

Rob Rovers (0) vs Yellow Submarine (4)

Rob Rovers havn’t had a good season, but this is the first season for them. They faced Yellow Submarine, another side cert for promotion today in the return match. Yellow showed their experience early on by opening the scoring in the 6th minute (Seyfi Ataisik) and again in the 37th minute (Randall Ling). They had a sub in the 53rd (Enzo Villa for Kieran Kirkby) and the 80th (Alcino Viana for John Lennon) minutes. Both subs seemed to be wise ones as Kieran Kirkby for Yellow scored in the 81st. An 88th minute booking for Fred Coppinger (Rob Rovers) and a final goal from Deano Irvine (Yellow Sub) finalised this match.

Possession: 40 – 60

Chances: 0 – 12

Man of the Match

(Home) – Alvin Stride

(Away) – Seyfi Ataisik

Coloccini FC (6) – Chartreuse Bolts FC (0)

Coloccini faced Chartreuse in todays match, Coloccini are cert for promotion from the lowers back to the middle league. Coloccini showed their skills from the word go, opening the scoring in the 8th minute (Arne Magnussen) and again in the 12th minute as well. Moo Hyun Gam (Chartreuse) received a booking for an offense, which I believe caused the penalty for Coloccini which was scored by Lee Wheatman. Another booking for Chartreuse, things were looking rough for them. Another goal just before ½ time (Lee Wheatman scoring his 2nd). In the 69th minute a 5th goal for Coloccini, unless things picked up this game was over for Chartreuse today. Moo Hyun Gam was sent off reducing the side to 10 men, which certainly ended this game. A 6th and final goal in the 88th for Coloccini ended this match once and for all.

Possession: 59 – 41

Chances: 14 – 0

Man of the Match

(Home) – Lee Wheatman

(Away) – Sung Hoh

Drahkonius FC (3) – bob (2)

Bob are a side who want to show that this season is the season to be noticed, which certainly looked that way with the injury to Drahkonius’s keeper in the 12th minute. They did receive a yellow card for that tackle, very lucky to keep himself on the pitch from that move. They did redeem themselves in the 37th minute, scoring the first goal of the match. 2 minutes later, Drahkonius hit back with the equaliser. Right before ½ time, bob hit the 2nd goal of the night. Certainly looking to be noticed today that’s for sure. But Drahkonius ver looking for the win, and they hit with 2 goals in the 86th and 53rd minutes. Both from Michael Ruppel and both with kicks. A yellow card for Kai Frenz in the 90th ended todays match.

Possession: 46 – 54

Chances: 8 – 7

Man of the Match

(Home) – Kai Frenz

(Away) – Timothee Dongmo

Emo Blades (1) vs Recall United (3)

Emo faced Recall today, both sides are in contention for the final promotion spot. This was going to be a tough match for both sides, but Recall showed their experience by opening the scoring in the 25th minute (Aquilino Vieria). 35th minute goal from a freekick specialist (Brendan Celbridge) put the away side 2-0 up before ½ time. Emo needed to step up their game if they wanted to stay in contention for the promotion, but alas it didn’t seem to be their game. A tackle from Gavin Murty warrented the ref to reach direct for the red card, with appeals from both the Emo and Recall managers as they believed it was a yellow card offense at least. Wei Jing You received a booking for an offense, Emo struck with a goal in the 74th minute (Stewart Rothwell). But with a quick sub in the 82nd and a goal in the 83rd for Recall (Aquilino Viera) it ended todays match.

Possession: 45 – 55

Chances: 3 – 9

Man of the Match

(Home) – Margrott Bruce

(Away) – Brendan Celbridge

Final Thoughts

With 2 certain promotions, there is only 1 place not set. And it is between Emo and Recall, Emo need to win all 3 final games and hope Recall don't win a game. Recall only need 1 point in the final 3 games to secure the final promotion spot for themselves. Time will tell if Emo or Recall secure the spot.

Even if I was a betting man there's no way I'd bet for those results to occur in order for my promotion.

I'd agree really, and thats from looking at the last 3 games for both of us. On paper, it would appear i would take the spot. But this is Xpert and anything can happen.

As it can be seen from the reports above, i'm trying something different. Putting the score at the top instead of the bottom. And i'm starting a "Final Thoughts" as well. More to follow on Friday.

Destroyed Fedex 7-0. Have to lol, though. My striker scored 4 goals and assisted one, yet didn't get the Man of the Match award and didn't even get into the Xpert team. Seriously, second time this season that one of my players has bagged 3 or more goals yet didn't get into the Xpert11. How?

2 games to go. May as well go up in Style.

Man of the match and Xpert team are based off of player ratings. Your striker only got a rating of 10.

What more could he have done to get a higher rating, though? He scored four goals, got an assist, is already an 8-skill and had high form.

Scoring more goals doesn't change your rating. A few factors (such as a player's form) dictate what skill level they'll play to in the game but it's predetermined and doesn't change during the game. At least that's my understanding of it :p

It doesn't really make sense to me. Doesn't really seem fair either. It's meant to be the best 11 of that match day. From the sounds of it, the X11 before the match will be the same as after it, which defeats the whole point of it, imo. Anyway, Patric's an 8 skill and has 16 form currently (hasn't changed since after the game), but I guess he needs a higher skill level to get in.

Anyway, just watched our game. We created 19 chances. Don't think I've ever created that many before.

The X11 is based solely on individual player skill ratings. A player with a skill rating of 4 in a game could score more goals than one with 12 but the one with 12 would still get in the X11. It's not about how well they've done, it's literally the highest rated players of the round. Otherwise how would a defender or keeper ever get in?

The same way they'd get in on a normal Team of the Week, based on the amount of saves, clean sheets kept, possession, etc.
