The pokemon series is one I have failed to let go, recently re-buying a Wii to play PBR purely to trade Pokemon with the computer, then battle online...

what would you prefer to see on the Wii U? A Pokemon Stadium? A colosseum? Battle revolution style? Or the smaller mini game-esque stuff?

I won't be ignorant and will accept the idea that a traditional adventure won't work on a home console. But something tells me the Wii U controller can open up a lot of possibilities in this regard.

Maybe a 3DS like adventure on the controller and the stadium/battle aspect on the TV?

I'm really hoping they flesh out Pokemon on home consoles as they did during the N64 era.

I see no reason why a deep story - not surrounding a legendary Pokemon - can be included within a Pokemon world with Pokemon as the means for combat. I guess think Final Fantasy, with Pokemon battles...:)

I would imagine a Pokémon Stadium game that will connect to the latet Pokémon game.

It could have the screen showing nothing but the action - all the information would be on the controller.

There would also be trading cards or small figures to collect. These would have NFC for using in-game.

Well, I still want that Pokémon fighting game...

On a more serious note, a "Final Fantasy" kind of RPG could be interesting for the franchise. Like Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD, but keeping in line with the pokémon "spirit" of catching wild monsters.

Like Dragon Quest V, basically (like Symphonia 2, for another example)

Anyone remember a playstation turn based 'rpg' by the name of Jade Cocoon? You'd capture monsters from the wild, they will do your bidding in battles and grow - but the story didn't revolve around the creatures.

The stories so far in Pokemon adventures is either about becoming a champion of Pokemon or the story of a legendary Pokemon. I would like to see those kinds of stories put in the back-burner and instead focus on something a bit more classical yet still based in the Pokemon world... I guess pretty much like colosseum and gale of darkness but on a grander scale.

I'm REALLY excited seeing the Pokemon and Nobunaga series join forces.

(am I making sense?)

I want a new 3D battle sim (like the Stadium games and PBR) game with

- More character customization options

- Cheaper clothes and accessories (You needed, what, 100k points to buy the ones available in the store in Battle Revolution - it was a pain...)

- A fully explorable main hub area, with quick menus for those who don't want to walk around too much (This is probably the main thing I felt Battle Revolution was lacking - mostly because I always wanted to explore Pokétopia (it looks like such an amazing place, yet we see so little of it)! It could be filled with NPCs, maybe even NPCs of real trainers you've battled against, they could fill it with random events of various sorts and it would give you something to do when you feel like taking a break from the battles)

Also I wouldn't mind a new Pokémon Snap using the controller as a camera (pointing it at the screen etc).

I loved the mini-games in Pokémon Stadium, loved them. So a game like Mario Party but with Pokémon would blow my mind.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only person who would want this though :P And PokéPark doesn't count because the minigames are rubbish and the bits in between them are even worse.

Traversing a 3D world with a D-Pad is insulting enough, doing it to play hide and seek with a caterpie pushed me over the edge.

Sounds like a great idea to me! See, where Ive never bought a Mario Party. Hself - I would probably... Maybe buy a 'Pokemon Party'... I believe there are people like me, even in their mid-20s, will still shell out full price for a half decent Pokemon game.

Something tells me a 'decent' Pokemon game will feature in the launch window of the Wii U's release; it's odd that we don't have a home console battle type game to compliment and represent the new 'mon from Black and White...

Wouldn't the Wii U controller set up create the optimal pokemon battle experience!? (they better make something...)

I'm glad I'm not alone in this :yay:

A great release would be some Wii U Ware (I hope they don't actually call it that :P) whereby you can download the new Pokémon Black and White 2 to play on the Wii U controller whilst the TV screen shows 3d battles much like Colosseum and Stadium!

Just FYI, there will be no main series games on the Wii U. The developers have said the main games will remain handheld.

As such, we are only likely to get Side-Games, like Stadium, PBR etc. or Spin-offs.

As long as they don't try to Skylanders the series with collectable figurines I'll be happy with whatever they do on Wii U.

An AR Card enabled TCG game for 3DS or Wii U would be awesome though!
