heroicjanitor Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Why vote for me? If you're going to start a lynch train with no evidence do it early on when we can afford the losses.
Cube Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Why vote for me? If you're going to start a lynch train with no evidence do it early on when we can afford the losses. We have no players who can get any kind of evidence. What else can we do?
Jimbob Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 We have no players who can get any kind of evidence. What else can we do? True, I got nothing new to bring forward to the game. Talk about minimal

Shorty Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Hmm. Well with the way you went after heroicjanitor, I think it's safe to assume Cube is town. Also going to assume Yvonne is still invincible. Seems pretty clear to me! Vote: Jimbob Looking back through the thread, he's actually voted for most of the lynches. However with the townies he voted early/middle, but with the mafia he was always the last one to vote.
Cube Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Can you explain why he lynched a mafia just before the night they would have won?
Shorty Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Only that he was clearly going to get lynched anyway. If I had been mafia, I would've voted for heroic' there. Actually, I probably would've voted for him on the previous night. But I don't really see any clear cut way to prove anything either way... so I guess the game hinges on your choice! (Psst, I'm a townie!)
Jimbob Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 (edited) Hmm, so i see i could be lynched again. I'm not revealing my allignment, so i'm voting mainly due to the above. Vote: Shorty I'm suspicious of you, straight after the previous lynch it's straight to the next person. I'm also convinced Cube is town, hence my vote today. And i only voted to get the game moving along, which it needed to be. Not many players left, and the town are on the verge of winning today. Yes, i have voted for the majority of the lynches. But thats only because i've forgotten this game was still going, and if i was more active in the game perhaps my votes may have earlier on. I have nothing to hide at all if anyone thinks i do. Nintendohnut Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 (last mafioso = bastard) Or was it heroic wanting revenge? Either way YOU SUCK! :p
Yvonne Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 Unlucky mafia! GAME OVER -- winners -- @mr\-paul - Vanilla @Jonnas - Vanilla @Rummy - Vanilla @DuD - Vanilla @Jimbob - Doctor @Nintendohnut - Vanilla @uəʌəsʎɐɾ - Vanilla -- losers -- @heroicjanitor - Goon @ReZourceman - Goon @EEVILMURRAY - Goon @Shorty - Goon @Yvonne - Gimme Elixir! Thanks for playing everyone! Bit of a weird game. Later today I'll post an analysis from a GM perspective.
Cube Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 It was obviously Shorty - I just wanted to create a bit of final tension.
Shorty Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Haha, I knew we never had a chance at the end. It all came down to whether or not Jimbob stepped up for that last vote on heroic on the penultimate night. I actually enjoyed this a lot, but I wish we'd taken out 'dohnut a lot sooner. I tried to finish you off Cube, several nights ago, but you were saved on a whim
Jimbob Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Great game indeed Yvonne, if only it was more active it could have been even better. Again, cheers for the great game. Won a second mafia game, i'm on a role.
Jonnas Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Ha, knew that Shorty was mafia! Of course, I "knew" a lot of stuff Also, surprised that Jimbob was the Doctor. I thought there simply wasn't one. Well, there's not much else to say, game went a bit how I expected it to go. Except for The Peeps not revealing his investigations, which was as surprising as it was unproductive. Betch'ya feeling silly, now :P
Jimbob Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 And now, he has the chance to reveal those investigations.
The Peeps Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 I maintain that while there was a protector, it was safer not to reveal townies. What's your excuse Jimbob? :p lol heroic was obv mafia after he said the protector had some explaining to do after I died. Obvious attempt
Jimbob Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 What excuse, i was the doc and was able to protect someone at night from attacks. Never revealed who i protected each night, which i think i should now. Give us a moment.
Cube Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 He means "why didn't you constantly protect the town's most important role?"
Mr-Paul Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Enjoyed this game while I was in it, but I do feel it went on too long, and once there was only vanillas left, it became a bit stale, with only 4 posts on some days. I understand why the day phases were longer, but ultimately, I think it killed the game. Although in the end, the town did win, maybe it would have worked better if there was another power role or two? Good game anyway
Yvonne Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 This game has certainly been a learning experience for me. In retrospect, I realise I created the perfect storm of inactivity for a number of reasons: The mafia template I used was from mafiascum.net. This is a very different style of mafia game typically, with a bigger focus on suspicion and low information. I'm not saying you all are less good mafia players, just that here we are more accustomed to information analysis over a focus on behaviour analysis. The setup is usually also an open one (players are told to expect no powers and a cop and doctor), which would have skipped the whole "hmm, is nothing going to happen?" stage. mafiascum.net has an inactivity system, where players who don't post for two days are replaced - this bypasses the lying low tactic, and enables them to run games with day phases that last three IRL weeks. the mafia games here are typically the same people each time, wheras on mafiascum they are usually strangers to eachother, which tends to end in more blunt probing and more accusations. The mafia's optimal strategy was to stay quiet and to kill anyone who spoke. That is not the game I intended, but it was the game I made. Next one is going to have all kinds of tweaks I've already thought of that will make it much more exciting, and damn near impossible to lurk on. Once again, thank you all for playing!
