gaggle64
Can't knock 'em for trying something new. There's something very Minecraft-esque about the conception. Also the art design has "Kinect" written all over it.
flameboy
Looks awesome. Sure contrasts will be made with Minecrafts survival mode but I'm hoping there is enough there to make it something way way better.
Daft
I like how they've gone from Gears of War's people-built-like-houses to now everyone looking skeletal.
Jimbob
Looks good, can't fault Epic for breaking out of the Gears module.
CoolFunkMan
I do like the game's presentation. It's nice to see Epic actually going with a more vibrant art style, rather than dull greys and browns. However, is it just me, or does the concept sound like a complete Minecraft rip-off? Still, Minecraft is great, so anything similar should be good, right?
Shorty
is it just me, or does the concept sound like a complete Minecraft rip-off? Yes it's just you. Except for the two people who mentioned it before you
Happenstance
Epic have mentioned in an interview somewhere as well that Minecraft was an inspiration
Cube
It's then night/day thing which sounds like the main Minecraft inspiration.
The Peeps
Looks interesting... I'd definitely play a game that focusses more on the survival/defence part of Minecraft.
Wesley
Since when was the idea of monsters/danger at night a Minecraft thing?
Cube
Since when was the idea of monsters/danger at night a Minecraft thing? Since Gears "invented" hoard mode.
CoolFunkMan
Minecraft: Collect resources during the day, use those resources to build a fortress and equipment. Survive the night when monsters attack, and defend your fortress. Fortnite: Collect resources during the day, use those resources to build a fortress and equipment. Survive the night when monsters attack, and defend your fortress. I'm not saying that the concept is purely Minecraft, it's the execution of it. Wesley
Since Gears "invented" hoard mode. That's... not an answer as such...
