Fierce_LiNk Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Awww, no water? Seriously, really want a Monster Hunter right now. May need to invest in some more time on Tri. I imagine it just kicks considerable arse being able to take Monster Hunter with you on the go.
Mokong Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 No water... awwww... I actually enjoyed the water fights, was a nice change from the land stuff. Will this mean no Lagi in MH4 Awww, no water? Seriously, really want a Monster Hunter right now. May need to invest in some more time on Tri. I imagine it just kicks considerable arse being able to take Monster Hunter with you on the go. Dude if you think you'll be heading back to the hunt let me know, I tried going on a few times every now and then just to help out low ranks cuz I'm awesomely helpful But would love to hunt with some of the Brotherhood again Though you'll have to give me a good heads up as I got Project Zero 2 on Monday so try post or PM a few hours before you plan to go on (in the evenings round 8ish I'm usually on my Wii) or I might miss it
Hero-of-Time Posted July 5, 2012 Author Posted July 5, 2012 More details from Famitsu. - been in development for two years- development scale is the largest in series' history - development was running in parallel with Monster Hunter 3G - this let the team take the ideas that went over well in MH3G and use them in MH4 - added a target camera to MH3G because they were thinking about using it in MH4 - features "catchy" new elements related to Felynes. - the keyword for MH4 is "adventure" - single player mode will have major story developments - features the largest number of NPCs in series history - home base is called "Barubare" - Barubare is a collection of caravans which move to various areas - do jump attacks that make use of height differences - enemies will also see changes to their movements based off slope and height differences - environments can see changes and destruction - adding new options and breadth to your overground actions - aiming for the game feel to be such that you'll have fun just running about the fields - game will have a fresh new play feel with new elements - name of the monster with the big ears from the trailer is "Kecha Wacha" - the field with the red rocks from the trailer is called "Ruins Field" (Iseki Heigen)
Jamba Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Cmon.... get it finished and locamalised. Too excited about this! Seriously, if this has VOIP then it's going to be the first game that I've preordered in about 5 years.
Ville Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Darn, I liked the water fights as well. Sure, they were not as easy as fighting on dry land, but they sure did bring some variety and extra atmosphere to the game... With MH4, what I'm most concerned about is the multiplayer. I mean online was the reason why Tri was so darn good, so I'd definitely want it here as well.

If Capcom want to make this popular in the western world it NEEDS online play.
-Dem0- Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Christian Svensson. Ok, part one, I'm not aware of anyone from Capcom saying "wait for comic-con". Perhaps fan speculation. I will be more clear than I have ever been... Western MH fans should have some sort of information before the end of this calendar year. I can't say more than that unfortuntaely though I would love to.

Lol, every post you've made seems to be "IT NEEDS ONLINE-AAAA!" I don't see why it wouldn't be online. Tri was online and pulled it off with ease. Really enjoyed playing that with some of the people from here. Pretty sure 4 will be the same. Still a bit pissed about lack of underwater battles.

Its because its on a portable that the online is in question. All of the PSP MH games lacked online play. You had to either use ADHOC on the PS3 or xlink to trick the system into thinking you were playing locally. As for Sven, that guy can get bent. He's been teasing us MH fans for ages now. He wants to just keep his mouth shut or just say there is nothing to report, rather than using troll baiting comments.

With respect, the PSP games were classified as something else, Monster Hunter Portable. They seem to have deliberately side-stepped that in this case, by naming this 4. It's part of the main "series", so it should include the majority of the features from the main games. I would include online in that. If they had renamed this as some sort of side-game, then I would be worried about it lacking online features. But, in this case, I'm certain it will be online. Will be a travesty and a no-sale for me if it doesn't include this.

Again, it was on a portable system. The fact is that MH is a beast in Japan, where they like to play locally and if Capcom can get away with just leaving the games like that, then they will. Hmm, my opinion on Capcom has changed over the years. Mostly for the worse (will never forgive them for butchering the Resident Evil series). Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Mostly for the worse (will never forgive them for butchering the Resident Evil series). Guess we'll just have to wait and see. I've lost a lot of faith in Capcom this generation. From there butchering of the R Evil series to the lack of localisation of games such as Phoenix Wright, Last Ranker and Monster Hunter. Add to the fact that they put stuff on a disc and then you have to pay for it to get it unlocked as DLC and this makes for one ugly company. Oh, and Megaman Legends 3.....I WILL NEVER FORGET!

Yeah...for every decision they've made, they make two dreadful ones. Ok, now I'm worried about the lack of online play. Still think it'll happen, as its the main series. But, you just never know with them.
Magnus Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Maybe it'll have online play but won't be released outside Japan. Wouldn't that be fun.
theBLUEBIRD Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Aahh, all this talk of monster hunting makes me want to start up that old dusty Wii and play some quests on MHTri! I sure hope they do this game (MH4) right, and release it worldwide with online game-play!
-Dem0- Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Yuri Araujo, Associate Online/Community Specialist: Although my Capcom-Unity page says "Member since 2008", I've been a member of the Capcom community since it was only the Capcom BBS. I actually joined as a user specifically to inquire (read: complain) about the situation regarding Monster Hunter 2 (dos) Western release back in 2005/06 - so I know exactly how it feels to be lacking a new MH game for a while... patience is a virtue, right? Eventually it pays off somehow... we'll have something veeeeery soon Surely after reading that, it must be something positive right?

December 31: “Thank you for your enthusiasm. We promised an update, so here it is. We never say ‘never,’ but we can confirm that there are no plans to bring these two games to the Americas at this time. Thanks so much for your passion, and for being such great fans!”
Hero-of-Time Posted July 25, 2012 Author Posted July 25, 2012 December 31: Pretty much. I'm sick of all this teasing that Capcom have done over the last few months. Either say yes the game is coming or no it's not. I don't see what they have to gain with this endless baiting, they are just annoying everyone.

Yes it has become a pain, I really want 3G but they keep messing with us, unless they have an expansion coming out in Japan with online or something but I ain't holding many breath any more.
-Dem0- Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 If that's the case then why continue teasing? Very stupid.
Hero-of-Time Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 Capcom continue to tease us. from the capcom_uk twitter account today: Capcom_UK @Capcom_UK Head up a Monster Hunter fansite/community?...we want to hear from you ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well that was a busy day sorting out corpses and wading through Monster Hunter prizes, now Bring on gamescom.
killer kirby Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 "You know what really grinds my gears Capcom? You Capcom...FUCK YOU!"
Dcubed Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Watch it be DLC Monster Hunter outfits for Dragon's Dogma...
Hero-of-Time Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 Watch it be DLC Monster Hunter outfits for Dragon's Dogma... Haha! That would be the ultimate trolling.....and very likely.
