nekunando Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Since we probably won't see this, I won't get too excited Having said that, wouldn't it be nice if we got a bundle that included this and Fatal Frame 4?
Mokong Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 (edited) Will this even make it out of Japan or will I have to wait for a Homebrew fan translation patch and import again? I do hope they use the flashlight controls done by the pointer this time, like done in Silent Hill Shattered Memories. Actually why remake the 2nd game... why not jut make a 5th? And considering 4 never made it out of Japan I'm surprised Tecmo have gone in with Nintendo again? Edited September 29, 2010 by Mokong
mcj metroid Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 yey more remakes!!! but seriously though PROJECT ZERO 2 was a great title in it's day. It controls like hell but it gave you the chills like movies never could.
Mokong Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 I've not played 2, but 4 (yes I patched) worked very well for scares and chills. If this were to somehow make it outside Japan I do hope they keep the Japanese voiceovers and add subs. Playing 4 with subs was so awesome it was like watching a great Japanese horror film.
david.dakota Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Seems strange that they'd first choose a Nintendo console for this after the farce that has been the Fatal Frame 4 release. Hopefully, there is a plan to get 4 over here. Also a bit odd they'd not remake the whole series up to 4.

All of them did make it outside japan though except the the fourth one which nintendo published.... Let's just hope they don't have anything to do with this one.. Oh and the voice acting was awesomly bad in the other project zero games you'll want it to be the same. Like a badly dubbed anime
Mokong Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 All of them did make it outside japan though except the the fourth one which nintendo published.... Let's just hope they don't have anything to do with this one.. Look at the first post again I know 1, 2 and 3 got out of Japan, I just never had a PS1 or 2 so never played them. And after experiencing 4 in Japanese with subs I dont think I could get the same awesomeness out of another FF game if it only had a poor dub
mcj metroid Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Look at the first post again *cries* you have no chance
sumo73 Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 (edited) Considering that Fatal Frame/Project Zero IV didn't sell so great in Japan and had a few bugs in it I'm surprised that Tecmo wants to try things again with Nintendo. I've been a fan of the series since the beginning and have all the games including IV but I still feel that this will be a Japan only game. Western Wii owners will be stuck again with poorer imitations that do make it over like Calling and Ju-On. Edited June 11, 2012 by sumo73
david.dakota Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Coming to Europe. Confirmed by Nintendo Direct 22.02.2012

Magnus Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 I would much rather have a remake of a game that has already had a European release than a game that was never released outside Japan. You sure know how to treat us, Nintendo.

david.dakota Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 You shouldn't assume Fatal Frame IV wasn't a crock of something with broken controls. If I recall it wasn't a crock at all. It had some quirky torch controls (ie; rather than pointing your Remote to control the torch as you'd expect, you'd tilt which moved the torch). I'd rather have both; with remakes of 1 and 3 too.
Magnus Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 You shouldn't assume Fatal Frame IV wasn't a crock of something with broken controls. Even so... :p I never bothered with the series after getting a PS2 when it became clear that Fatal Frame IV wouldn't be released outside Japan, so Nintendo can keep their remake of the second game. I ain't bitin'.
Wii Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 So we're getting 2 but not 4? Why can't we have 4 as well?
Mokong Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Well I played Fatal Frame 4, yes I HBC'd my Wii and used the fan translation patch and imported an official retail version of the game (I is no pirate)... and it was well worth it. Totally enjoyed the game, I thought it played fine, was glued to the story and the atmosphere was epic and did give me a good horror feel, was pretty terrified and jumped a few times too, haha. Though it would be cool if they could somehow do a double boxset, with 2 and 4 (hell just make the fan patch part of the real code and give them a pretty penny ) as my 1st Wii with HBC broke and I couldn't bother with HBC'ing it again (though I don't think you can on the latest firmware anyway) Anyway I am both SHOCKED and Thrilled that the FF2 wiimake is coming, I thought the Last Story was gonna be my last Wii game but it looks like this will now be. I wonder if they made this choice either due to teh success of Xenoblade and likely success of Last Story or if they just needed some biggish games to pad out the final days of teh Wii before the WiiU is out? Was there no release date given yet?
Hero-of-Time Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Release date incoming! Spooky 3DS photography horror Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir will launch in the UK on 29th June, Nintendo has announced. The Wii version of Fatal Frame 2, or Project Zero 2 in Europe, has also been dated. The surival horror also creeps to Wii on 29th June.
nekunando Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 This is another Wii game that will likely make it into my collection in 2012. For a system that's been "finished" for a long time, it's still delivering enough to keep me content
Fierce_LiNk Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 I think this is part of an on-going joke between publishers about which game will be the last Wii game. "It's Skyward Sword!" "No, Xenoblade-" "Last Story!!" "Paaandora's Towerrrrr!"
D_prOdigy Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 I think the last one will be Beat the Meat Beat
Hero-of-Time Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 English site is up and running, along with a trailer. http://www.nintendo.co.uk/NOE/en_GB/games/wii/project_zero_2_wii_edition_49408.html
Mokong Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 (edited) I haven't played the original but from the sound of the voices in the trailer I assume they aren't re-using the originals audio track and have recast the voice actors? Cause it sounds like NoE have taken on the resonsibility of handling voice actors again. In which case woot. Can only hope it turns out as well as Xenoblade and Last Story EDIT: Actually just reading my previous posts in this thread and memories of Fatal Frame 4 coming back I hope they do still offer a Japanese audio track too Edited April 20, 2012 by Mokong
