ReZourceman Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 (Thanks to Paj for the name) I got my printer/scanner up and running so I'll be uploading a few of my designs over the next few days. Remember I'm not actually the artist though. I'm actually speaking with an artist about it now, so hopefully stuff will start to happen quickly. Anyway. What do you think of this for a logo? I am still trying it out with a few different fonts, but this is the first attempt and I'm actually fairly happy. Might go with an "older" looking font though.
chairdriver Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 I like it, but it seems too plastic. As though you're designing the packaging for a child's toy.
ReZourceman Posted July 20, 2010 Author Posted July 20, 2010 The blood looks like thick poster paint. Its semen.
Paj! Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Just have the writing without the background, it takes away. It does look like an Action Figure series logo, but I quite like that. I like how (for example) Katy Perry has a "logo" that looks like a brand. And it reminds me of ships/old metal as is.
MoogleViper Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 It looks like the cover to a 90s computer game.
Cube Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 (edited) Get rid of the drop shadow on the writing. Try to make it look like it's part of the plaque thing. Also, what's with the random bits of green Play-doh? Edited July 20, 2010 by Cube I don't know how that came out worded so badly.
ReZourceman Posted July 20, 2010 Author Posted July 20, 2010 It looks like the cover to a 90s computer game. Hahha, I agree. Not a bad vibe though.
MoogleViper Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Hahha, I agree. Not a bad vibe though. Yeah but is that the look you want to go for?
dwarf Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Sorry what's the point behind this exactly, and what are you trying to make it look like? Otherwise feedback is quite hard to give. If I were to improve it, I'd do what Cube said- get rid of the shadow lighting and make the text attached to the grey box. Then I'd just make sure the grey box had a more realistic, stony effect. Finally change the font filling to something also a bit less... shit? Currently it looks like an 80s contour map/computer graphics thing they'd use for mountains. Just make it look cooler I guess, but keep it somewhat cartoony. I like the rust and painty blood stuff.
ReZourceman Posted July 22, 2010 Author Posted July 22, 2010 (It is a comic book I am writing, not drawing) But I have done some generic designs. Certain scenes will play specific homage to other popular dinosaur stories.
Happenstance Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Theres something about that guy that makes me think he's a marrionette. I think its the mouth.
ReZourceman Posted July 25, 2010 Author Posted July 25, 2010 AWESOME. My potential artist emailed me back. WIN.
Guy Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Man, this is such a hilarious concept. Is there anything I can do to help you out with this?
ReZourceman Posted July 27, 2010 Author Posted July 27, 2010 Man, this is such a hilarious concept. Is there anything I can do to help you out with this? I dunno really. I actually think its all covered now. You can be official fan?
dwarf Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Can ya tell us when the first comic will be up? I want to see this drivel!
ReZourceman Posted July 27, 2010 Author Posted July 27, 2010 Can ya tell us when the first comic will be up? I want to see this drivel! Not for fucking ages really. I'm literally just discussing with the artist now.
Paj! Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 ReZ, if this ends up like Cast, I'll be doubly annoyed.
ReZourceman Posted July 27, 2010 Author Posted July 27, 2010 ReZ, if this ends up like Cast, I'll be doubly annoyed. Cast isn't my fault, Cast just has a problem with the artist, and I'm still writing it. Cast is FAR from dead. And this guy already sounds more promising than aquafire in terms of drive lol.
ReZourceman Posted July 30, 2010 Author Posted July 30, 2010 A few more generical designs. Not sure if I've posted a picture of Ludovich, the main character before but this is him. FYI he always has shadowy/black eyes.
ReZourceman Posted July 30, 2010 Author Posted July 30, 2010 I'm not feeling it, I'm afraid. In what sense? Remember I'm not the artist. However if you're not feeling the concept, then I'll be sure you don't get a signed copy of the DVD when I sell the rights to Paramount off the back of the record breakingly successful comic book series. :p
dwarf Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 It has potential, it depends on how you pair your writing with the cartoon. Style wise I think it just needs a bit more... detail or sommat. Moar going on essentially.
