ReZourceman Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 This ones fucked. It just keeps switching off and I dunno how to resolve it. Semi want one with a shit load more memory and power anyway. Where shall I go? Comet? Currys?
Shorty Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Why do you want to hit the high street? You're going to pay a lot more than you could be online. http://www.overclockers.co.uk, http://www.ebuyer.co.uk, http://www.aria.co.uk, http://www.dinopc.com, http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk are all going to get you a better deal than anything you can net in the likes of PCWorld. If I had to choose, I'd probably go for Curry's because you can normally haggle them down and I got my TV from them at a great price with cover thrown in. Tesco have some good deals sometimes too.
Dyson Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Build your own. With a couple of hours setup time you can cut the price on a system by a ton and not be forced to use something like a Dell XP installation (as an example).
ReZourceman Posted June 11, 2010 Author Posted June 11, 2010 Hmmmm. Build my own sounds difficult. I just wanted it from high street for speed and ease really. Would be more sensible to buy online. Thanks folks. Ill have a look at those sites now.
Ashley Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 The high street isn't a piece of fiction you know...
Cube Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 You could check out local shops. They usually know what they're talking about.
McPhee Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 You live in London, yeah? Tottenham Court Road. You'll get a decent deal there. Won't be quite as cheap as internet prices, but it'll be reasonable and a lot faster than waiting for a custom build (up to two weeks easily).
Caris Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 This ones fucked. It just keeps switching off and I dunno how to resolve it. Semi want one with a shit load more memory and power anyway. Where shall I go? Comet? Currys? Didn't you only buy your pc last year? Won't it be under warranty?
ReZourceman Posted June 15, 2010 Author Posted June 15, 2010 Errrmmm....oh....didn't think of that. I'll need to find my docs. Thanks for reminding me. I might even get a new one anyway though, with more memory and raw power.
nightwolf Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Or just get an ugprade? It could be cheaper than you buying a new pc every year. Ebuyer are great, I bought a laptop from them at christmas and it turned up in a couple of days.
