Ten10 Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I know, I asked because Ten Plus Win marked my keeper and I couldn't understand why. Because I picked one at random and he happened to have the nicest name. I tend to pick a player to mark based on that factor.
jayseven Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Got a shock win! Dyson scored an own goal - lawl. Got manager of the round again (wewt) and two dewds in the x11. Crawled up to 3rd spot, but two teams below me have a game in hand and a chance to steal.
DuD Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I've finished my first season in the Xpert Leagues (Major League 7:66) in 2nd place.. managing the weakest team in the league Does this mean I'm promoted or will I have to get through a play-off style game first?
MadDog Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 You play in a play-off. In my Xpert team I just won my play-off to seal my 2nd promotion in first 2 seasons
Haden Posted March 6, 2010 Author Posted March 6, 2010 Tactics are set *bites nails* Good luck. Congrats on going top in our league btw, what a turn around!
Tales Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Does the arrow mean the form has changed or will change?
Shorty Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Ahhh I didn't set tactics and I lost... the season started so well... need to concentrate!
DuD Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Won my playoff game 5-0 I imagine its gonna be a tough next season. Well looking forward to my change report tomorrow.
Roostophe Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Congrats, DuD. I've been thinking of returning to the Xpert Leagues and go back into the Golden League. Have a new team created for the next season, and start right at the very bottom. Didn't have that with my old team; dunked right into mid-season with a crap team.
Mr_Odwin Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Starting from fresh is really satisfying in the public leagues.
DuD Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 I wanted a new team, but I got given one already going. It's pretty much a new team now anyway, there's only like 5/20 players in the team that were there before me and those will be looking at retiring soon.
MadDog Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Had a average change report on my official team. My 19 6 went up to a 20 7, which is nice. My 12 defender went up to 13 also. Could of been better, not got much hopes for next season anyways.
Haden Posted March 8, 2010 Author Posted March 8, 2010 (edited) Tonight the kid gloves are off. Remember he guessed your tactics! Ten Plus Win 0-3 Mcoys Sons Mcoys Sons elevated their title chances with a stylish away win against Ten Plus Win. Both teams played 4-5-1 but it was the Sons who had by far the better midfield, the captain Jbil scored the first goal after just a minute with a diving head. Jevons scored shortly after as Gee sought him out with a ball to the feet that he side footed into the net. Ten Plus Win had no chance to recover they were outmatched in every area of the pitch. Gee set up Moses for a lovely curling shot that went past the goalies fingertips to make it 3-0. The Sons could have had even more, they chalked up 11 chances to Win's 4. They also had 58% of possession, they were on cruise control and showed how firmly in control of this league they are at the moment. Mcoys Sons 4-0 Ten Plus Win The Sons made it a complete rout in the 2nd game of the double. Things started well for Ten Plus Win as they were given a penalty in the 1st minute. However striker Naito blasted it wide and things got worse from here. The Sons played 3-5-2 against a 4-3-3 Win formation, because of this the Sons dominated the midfield with 7 chances to 1 and 62% of possession. Jevons scored with a crude half volley to open the scoring before he set up Moses with a through ball to make it 2-0. Jbil struck a beauty of a free kick directly into the net to make it 3-0. After the break Moses crossed it in for Harris to convert a looping header. The Sons looked unstoppable it was just time that prevented more being scored. It was a champions performance and the Sons can be very satisfied. For Win they just couldn't compete, they still have a slim chance of a last promotion spot but this double may indicate further development time is needed. Veni Vidi Vici 5-1 Discount Viagra Vici stormed to a comprehensive victory over out of luck Viagra. Summerbell opened the scoring after just 2 minutes with a pin point header for Vici. Viagras 3-4-3 formation seemed to be badly misfiring as Vici scored twice again before the 13 minute mark. Crick set up Gower for a low shot then crossed a corner for Summerbell to get his 2nd goal. Tyler made things humiliating in the 2nd half making it 4-0 with a diving header. Seabury restored some pride to Viagra with a goal just before the end. But this was almost immediately wiped out as the 16 year old midfielder Crick set up yet another goal. This time via a in-swinging corner that Gower tapped in. Vici were balanced and proffesional while Viagra's 3-4-3 formation left them with dreadful gaps in their defense that caused them to conceded 5 out of 7 chances. Discount Viagra 0-3 Veni Vidi Vici Seemingly not learning anything from the first game Viagra went out with 3-4-3 again and Vici with another balanced 4-4-2 formation beat them easily a 2nd time. Summerbell was the star of the game in midfield, he set up the first goal. A well placed pass that Whetherby chipped over the goalies head. Summerbell after the break then made sure the win was secure with 2 headers just after half time. Vici were in no trouble from the moment they scored a goal. They had such a well established grip on their opponents that they had over 60% of possession and 11 chance to 2. Viagra have had a nightmare of a season so far. Losing 9 and drawing 1 the only club left in all the leagues not to win a match. Their misery was highlighted in this painful double, for Vici promotion is looking more and more likely a great double for them in their first season. Edd Kirby Athletic 2-0 Cubic County These two relegated sides both wanted to bounce straight back up into the middle league but so far it had been County who had been successful in the face of adversity. However Athletic hit back at County today with a well deserved win. County played 4-3-3 going after the traditionally strong Athletic defense. However this was a critical mistake, with a weaker midfield County only made 3 chances compared to 9 efforts by Athletic. The captain Hill was the architect of both goals and his role in midfield was invaluable. The first one was a free kick that Mortimer knocked in, Hill then hit a through ball to Baldry who took it past the goalie to finish the match off. Athletic got their tactics spot on while County never looked like they were going to get going. Cubic County 1-1 Edd Kirby Athletic For the rematch County were obviously concerned about their lack of chances and switched to 4-4-2 while Athletic upped the ante switching to 4-5-1. Things started off better for Athletic again as this time Hill scored a goal, a diving header from a Baldry cross. County had more chances this time around but Athletics incredible goalkeeper Bain was stopping shot after shot. However Maupas dribbled his way past the Athletic wing defense before crossing in an inch perfect ball that Norcott headed in to make it 1-1. The game ended like this with County looking more likely to score another but unable to make the most of their chances. County are still the team that the chasers are targeting for that last promotion spot and while its unlikely still Athletic have made it possible. As for Athletic things are looking up they just need to keep on winning and see what happens. Eights United 1-3 Martinists Men Eights United suffered a surprising home loss to the Men in an exciting match. United played 3-4-3 and it seemed to be the right formation at first as they scored at the 15 minute mark. Flatland scoring with a volley, however the lack of defensive cover proved more than costly as the Men countered. First Graeme surged past the under manned defense to make it 1-1. Then Johnson twice provided Irving with great service to make it 2-1 then 3-1. The Men always seemed more balanced in the face of United's ultra offensive attack. Their confidence in their own game paid off as they had more chances and crucially converted more of them. This away victory can be seen as a huge scalp. Martinists Men 4-1 Eights United The Men scored the double in triumphant form over United, the Men switched to 3-4-3 sensing a huge win could occur, they were not wrong. Millen started proceedings with a half volley from a Booth corner. Millen scored again in the 2nd half with a close range shot to make it 2-0. Smerud headed United back into it to make it 2-1. However it was United's day, Millen squared a ball for Halliday to left foot in his first goal of the season. Attacker Whale scored his first ever goal to make it 4-1 with a shot that ricocheted in off the post. This was a great double for the Men it puts them in the chasing group and shows they are a force to be reckoned with. For United it was a huge chance missed and they are in trouble of losing their previous momentum. Mr_Odwin Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 I was mildly upset at my retirement, but then I saw Haden's team and humour was restored to my world again.
Haden Posted March 8, 2010 Author Posted March 8, 2010 (edited) I was mildly upset at my retirement, but then I saw Haden's team and humour was restored to my world again. Awful news. I am going to suspend the league and demand everyone mourns while I cry some more. Still I got Agostini as a youth I didn't spend 3.5mil on him I hope Malmsteen is the next to leave! I bet Dinsdale from my club will go instead though lol. Edited March 8, 2010 by Haden
DuD Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 (edited) I only bought ostberg in at the start of this season He is 36 to be fair though. I desperately needed goals and someone to help with the average ages... so I guess he's served his purpose so far. I got a +11 (no reductions) change report for my xpert team, with +9 visible changes. Bit gutted Hank Duerden didn't go up 2... I was hoping he'd become a bit of a beast. He's a 17 / 4 goal instincts, header & leader qualities though, so if I can keep getting him high average forms he'll have to go up 2 at some point. Edited March 8, 2010 by DuD
Shorty Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 I have lost 3 players that have been with me since I started playing... but one of my players who is sticking on and will turn 38 next season!
Mundi Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Haha! No one is leaving, the endless party continues!
Tales Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 It's only my second season so it's no surprise no one left. The oldest player I have is only 35. No one left in the xpert league. No hope for promotion there. The top three teams are way overlevelled for the division. Even more annoying is that at least two of them has changed manager since the season started. On the good side, the average form there is pretty good, at last count the team had an average of at least 13.5, don't remember the number right but it was that or even closer to 14.0. Only two of 19 has an average less than 12, at 10 and 11. The N-E league has an average at everything from 9 to 18 with the team at 12.7
Charlie Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 I lost my last blast to the part, Kenny Hall, as expected, has retired. I haven't been playing him at all this season as he isn't that great but didn't want to sack him! Haven't trained him in a few seasons now. Lol @ Haden.
