flameboy Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 There will only be 10 minis games at launch so 215 PSP games is quite a lot. still though they originally said ALL existing PSP titles would be available for download.
drahkon Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 What do you say, should I buy a PSP Go or a PSP Slim? And: what are good games for the PSP?
flameboy Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 I'd say a slim, cheaper more games and best of both worlds. If you want older titles on PSP Go you will be paying full price whereas for a slim you can get them cheaper 2nd hand....the bargains I've had... Anyway I popped into here to talk about pricing for the Minis. It's been revealed fieldrunners will be £3.99 whilst it retails for £1.79 on itunes. SO theres a few quids difference its not a lot granted but I feel for minis to the same impact they need to have the titles priced a bit more that are fuller gaming experience but also the cheaper throwaway titles that people will buy without thinking about the cost. Like Flight Control which is 59p.
Daft Posted September 29, 2009 Author Posted September 29, 2009 PSP Go is £199 at HMV.com If you have a student card it is 10% off so you can get it for £179.99. I'd get it but I think I'm going to wait for the next iteration so they can work out any kinks.
Dyson Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Impressive deal with the student discount, though it's not supposed to work on hardware, so if it is going through, make the most of it..
Daft Posted September 29, 2009 Author Posted September 29, 2009 I got to the checkout to see if it works and it does. I didn't confirm payment, obviously, but if it went through that far I'm sure it'll work. I actually really want a PSP for the Comic reader. I might still pre-order it but I'd say there is only a 15% chance since I already reasoned why I wouldn't. The £20-45 off and free GT PSP is kind of tempting.
Choze Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 there seems to be a send in one UMD game andget 3 digital SCEE games free. 4 free games with your PSPgo in theory. Not sure if i can afford one yet. Preordered GT though. But really i want GT5.
Will Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Mine is out for delivery so hopefully it will come fairly soonish. Having just moved boxes and boxes of games while moving house I'm most definitely looking forward to all consoles having everything available to download like this.
Tellyn Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 The PSP Go sounded quite appealing when they announced that there would be a UMD conversion programme. UMDs are incredibly cheap, so if I were to buy a PSP Go, it would have been very convenient to just have all the games in one place and not have to pay over the odds to download the games from PSN. Now that they've scrapped that, what's the major carrot to actually buy one? To me it seems to be more worthwhile, and cheaper in the long-run, to get an older model.
Will Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 For me it's no discs, and the fact I can actually carry it around with me. It's arrived now and it's very nice indeed, much better than my previous PSP and the bosses lite. Just got to charge/update and then actually download something for it to give it a proper try. Pleased with it so far though.

Or is it not going to be until later in the day?
Sheikah Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Now that they've scrapped that, what's the major carrot to actually buy one? To me it seems to be more worthwhile, and cheaper in the long-run, to get an older model. That's essentially it. There's no real advantage to buying this console...if you don't fancy carrying around UMDs then there's always the option to custom firmware and buy a 16GB MS.

KKOB Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Is it just me or are the PSP downloadable games a LOT cheaper on the US PSN store vs the EU one As long as we get PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe today, I'll be happy. Bought the Dissidia PSP-3000 t'other day. It's so lovely and sparkly ^_^

Esequiel Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 I reckon the games pricing is miles out..... i wouldnt pay anymore than £15 for a downloaded game, whats the point? Go to your local carboot or even gamestation and game and you pick up second hand PSP games for £20 that are newish games! I paid £5 for dissida (sp) the other day!
dwarf Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Yeah those aren't good prices. They are going to wrong way about it if they're trying to compete with the iPhone. Motorstorm and larger games should be £15. That would be acceptable.
Daft Posted October 1, 2009 Author Posted October 1, 2009 Played this in store today and my god it is a lovely piece of kit. The analogue stick in a way better position and it's recession makes it so much more comfortable. The whole thing makes the X000s feel cheap. Excellent build quality. Also it's tiny yet still has a fantastic screen. Shame about the fucking price.
flameboy Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 The pricing isn't reasonable when compared to preowned prices at all I picked up Crush (great game btw buy it) for £5 and Exit as well plus GoW for just £7.99. I know obviously they are preowned and that has to be factored in but its still hard to justify paying full whack for these titles... A couple of the minis interest me namely tetris and pinball fantasies...
Daft Posted October 1, 2009 Author Posted October 1, 2009 I don't really care about the price of the games. They're good enough for me. I just want the actual console to come down in price. The other PSP just isn't an option for me because I hate the position of the analogue stick.
Choze Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 The game pricing is pretty good on PSN. Its competitive with local high streets for brand new games. Like the idea of minis. The PSPgo interests me but yeah dont have the spare cash right now. Will get one at some point though. Everyone who has one says its really nice.

If someone buys it for £250 they are unlikely to say it's rubbish.
