At that point the idea for the invasion wasn't the same as they were originally going to run WCW as a separate company with their own show, they did one test and it didn't go well which was when they pivoted. 1

We were discussing it at work last week. I don't have Netflix but said I would be very tempted to subscribe once the WWE stuff hits, providing there is access to the classic stuff. No word on what happens to all that old legacy content, sadly I fear a lot of it will just be gone as i can't imagine Netflix transferring all of that content over but I noticed WWE launched a second youtube channel a few months ago called WWE Vault which has been uploading entire matches from the past as well as never seen before dark matches. https://www.youtube.com/@WWEVault/videos I suspect they will upload a lot of old stuff onto here that doesn't make it to Netflix. They've already been uploading entire old Royal Rumbles on their main YT channel recently, but now with this new channel, they have uploaded a lot of random old content. Such as the entire Hell in a Cell match between Undertaker vs Shawn michaels from 1997 for example. They have also uploaded some really obscure stuff from their archives, like this never seen before dark match of the Nasty Boys on Smackdown in 2007: It is surreal to see them on them in that era lol They also show all the things the WWE had stored in their warehouse, such as random props, costumes and even the huge Smackdown Fist from the early 2000s: also this was pretty cool: 3
CrowingJoe79 Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 Gunther trying to rile up Bret Hart by mentioning Goldberg was an epic troll move for a bit of heat in Canada. 😜 I got a DVD once with a game, that covered his career beginning from when he started out in his dad's Stampede Wrestling promotion. I wasn't a fan of WWE or WCW during the 90s, so I missed all of his feuds. But I got into WWE around the time of that 'invasion' stuff, when WCW and ECW was about to be merged with the then, WWF. Then they had a great run in 2002 where a lot of big names debuted, and there was the very first elimination chamber match, Brock Lesnar beating up everybody on his way to the title, then Evolution formed and ruled the red brand in 2003, and so on. It sucked during the PG era. They have been picking up, though. And MVP being in AEW is actually cool. He's a great talker. He will likely resume the Hurt Business as the slightly altered name of the Hurt Syndicate, I think. Especially since his cohorts Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin have gotten out of their WWE contracts. By the way, does anyone like Nia Jax? I'm surprised she hasn't joined the Bloodline stable yet, being related to Solo Sikoa.
BowserBasher Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 I will never tire of backstage Boogeyman pranks. 2
Helmsly Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 The WWE Vault channel is slowly becoming my favourite channel: 1
BowserBasher Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 Finally received an email regarding the WWE Network and the ending of it in Jan. They are not transferring accounts over to Netflix at all it seems. The email just says that from Jan 1st the Network will no longer be accessible in your area and that Netflix is the new home to weekly shows and PLE’s. If you are already a Netflix subscriber then nothing to do, if not then you will need to sign up. We have Netflix included in our Virgin TV package (funnily enough it made the bill cheaper with it because adding TNT Sports on its own was more expensive) so I’m good for now. Just hope a lot of the non live shows gets added too. Spent a lot of time watching the docs and other stuff on there. 2
Helmsly Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 I am enjoying WWE's new YT channel so much: There are so many great moments in this video never seen before. One of my favourite bits is Paul Bearer doing an entire promo only for Undertaker to raise his hand with a toy puppet on it as a prank (around the 3:10 minute mark) 2
Jimbob Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Just saw something. UK subscribers to the WWE Network get December for free, they've cancelled all subscriptions for this month ready for shutdown in January. Make the most of it i say. 1 1
BowserBasher Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 I was just coming to say this. I received an email yesterday saying the subscription was cancelled. Thought that made sense being the first of December. But noticed no money taken. It’s a nice gesture but I’d much rather have continued to pay £9.99 for the best streaming service I’ve owned.
martinist Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Ended up cancelling my subscription myself a few days ago. Said it ends December 8th so i'll check back on the 9th.
Jimbob Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 I had cancelled mine back in July/August for financial reasons, but never closed my account. So getting December for free is a nice bonus (i honestly don't think i should get it, but i'm not complaining). Waiting for the inevitable Netflix price increase next year to pay for this
martinist Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Just checked if i still had access even though i canceled and it says I have "Complimentary Access" untill January 1st.
CrowingJoe79 Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 What did you think of the two War Games matches? Jimmy Uso is your next breakout star. I'll YEET to that! 🫡
BowserBasher Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 War games matches were fun, just too many injuries happened. 1
CrowingJoe79 Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 WWE is moving to Netflix, which is actually a good thing. WWE and movies for just a mere tenner, or so. 😁
Will Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 I’d forgotten it was coming to Netflix until they started the ad push on Reddit in the last few weeks. I’m very happy it’s moving over, while I love WWE Network it was always the first thing that dropped off my list of active subscriptions once the excitement of the Rumble and Wrestlemania was gone. Will probably get into it more than I have in a good while with this change. 1
Helmsly Posted Friday at 03:44 AM Posted Friday at 03:44 AM (edited) Older WWE content appears to be on Netflix already. I had a Quick Look and it seems like most in not all old PPVs have been uploaded as well as some old episodes of RAW and Smackdown. Edited Friday at 04:11 AM by Helmsly
BowserBasher Posted Friday at 11:45 AM Posted Friday at 11:45 AM Nice to see they are getting them up fairly quickly. For anyone that does watch the weekly shows, SmackDown will be free to watch on YouTube for us here tonight as the actual weekly shows don’t start until next week. 1
Helmsly Posted Friday at 11:27 PM Posted Friday at 11:27 PM (edited) WWE just uploaded this great behind the scenes video from 1995 on their WWE Vault channel. It shows the filming of the rootop intro that was used on Raw for a couple of years. I absolutely love stuff like this. This whole video is just a joy to see these guys in this era and how they were backstage. My favourite part is where you see that they had a Wresltemania arcade game cabinet at Titan Towers, which Triple H and Goldust are playing on as Bret Hart and Undertaker, while the real Bret Hart, Undertaker and Razor Ramon watch. Happenstance Posted Monday at 06:27 PM Posted Monday at 06:27 PM I was really enjoying watching this and it almost convinced me to resub to Netflix to watch Raw tomorrow morning...then I saw Logan Paul and was immediately put off 😆 I may still resub but it's amazing what just seeing that prick's face for a split second does. 1
Helmsly Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago (edited) I watched Raw on Netflix last night, which is the first time I've watched current WWE in quite some time outside of the main event of Wrestlemania last year and I thought it was really good. I enjoyed the matches and just the overall feel of the show and want to watch again next week if its this good. I think the only part that that fell flat was Hogans appearance. Even if he didn't have all the negative baggage associated with him, the segment on its own was there was just to promote his beer, which is a waste of time and not what anyone wants the show to stop for. Happenstance Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I ended up resubbing to Netflix and am about halfway through last nights Raw. It's been ok so far but it really felt like they could have removed most of their celebrity pandering moments and had a few more matches instead.

My thoughts exactly. He got the initial pop from the crowd but then as soon as he started talking they just started booing. It honestly did feel he was just there to promote his beer and get that Netflix name drop. 11 hours ago, Happenstance said: It's been ok so far but it really felt like they could have removed most of their celebrity pandering moments and had a few more matches instead. I think most of the celebrity pandering was because they seemed to be people that had Netflix shows so they had to get that plug in. Didn’t mind the celebrities that have been on WWE programming before and are genuine fans of the product also. Was weird they had so many current stars as “look who’s also here in the audience”, I mean most of them are actually on Raw anyway. Decent show though, it was pretty much a get people who’s first exposure to WWE was because of Netflix to tune in again type of show. Not a fan of the black ring mat, prefer the classic colour. Also those lights on all the chairs was so annoying throughout the show. Glad it’s just that arena. Also noticed a lot of empty seats hard camera side. Whenever there was a shot showing those seats there were like rows empty. I guess the cost of tickets was extortionate (they even said, or “said” that it was the highest grossing gate in arena history) but it didn’t look anywhere near filled. Crowd was dead at points. 1
