Eenuh Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Oh my god that is amazing. Why do you tease me when I'm broke!! Haha I'm sorry Ashley, guess you'll have to find a job after all. =P I said it on RedBubble and I'll say it again. That shirt is awesome. It also reminds me, why do designs always look better on the womens shirts? I wish they would make it so you can have the image bigger on mens/unisex shirts so they cover the same area as the womens shirts. It just looks better when the image covers most of the shirt. Thanks Goafer. =) And yeah I agree, the designs always look so much better on the girls tees, as they just look bigger. Now I haven't seen the shirts in real life yet, so I can't compare, maybe the normal tees don't look too bad. Might just be the way RedBubble's default shirt images work or something? But yeah, I agree. =P
Sprout Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 (edited) Oh my god that is amazing. Why do you tease me when I'm broke!! Well said. =P *Waits impatiently for the next sale.* Working with you on these things is a lot more fun than I imagined it would be. Then again, you're the one who's doing all the drawing and actual work, I'm just saying woooords! =P But yes, as said to you constantly, super special awesome work Ine! =D EDIT: Screw it I've bought one anyway. =P Edited August 15, 2009 by Sprout
Retro_Link Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 WTF! Yeah how come the girls T's get such big designs... I've had to scrap some designs in the past because they look stupidly small on the mens T's!
Happenstance Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 I keep wanting to design some shirts, ive got my account made and everything but I just cant think of anything to put on one!
Ashley Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 (edited) Haha I'm sorry Ashley, guess you'll have to find a job after all. =P Fine. For you I shall sell my soul again! WTF! Yeah how come the girls T's get such big designs... I've had to scrap some designs in the past because they look stupidly small on the mens T's! How about contacting RedBubble and asking if the printed versions actually have this difference and if so can it be changed? There seems no logical reason for the difference. Retro_Link Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 (edited) Storming Abbey Road (Colour) (Disco) (Black & White) Edited August 24, 2009 by Retro_Link
Goafer Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Nice. I quite like the storm trooper ones that pop up once in a while. Todays creativeness, again inspired by Banksy: Also in red:
Paj! Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 I want a T-shirt of Scarlett Johansson's face, done in a realyl cliched pop-arty way. I might make my own, but I hate not having photoshop.
EEVILMURRAY Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 What's teh secret Ine? How do you draw like that on teh PS?
Eenuh Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 What's teh secret Ine? How do you draw like that on teh PS? Uh there is no secret. All I used for the robot were a normal brush and the eraser. And then splatter brushes for the background. Guess maybe my hands are just made of magic or somethingggg.

Need to work on my freehand drawing in Photoshop though, I only really use it to edit rather than draw.
EEVILMURRAY Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 I've been considering getting a tablets. I hate using a mouse for this, it's unnatural. Ine, how did you do your shading?
Retro_Link Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Ine, how did you do your shading? You just create new colour layers on top of each other and erase the parts you don't want.
EEVILMURRAY Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 You just create new colour layers on top of each other and erase the parts you don't want. That or draw random shit a shade darker. Either way it seems to work with this robot.
Retro_Link Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Wondering if I should change my competition entry from the Record'Cycle to one of the stormtrooper T's? Could they be classed as robot/machine do you think? maybe not?... And if I should change, which is your prefered colouring of the design for entry?
Goafer Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 I honestly have no proper oppinion on whether or not it counts as machines. I'm on the fence. But if you do change it, my personal favourite is the multi coloured one. Just not on a black background, since the black suits don't quite look right against it. That's my 2p worth.

Need to work on my freehand drawing in Photoshop though, I only really use it to edit rather than draw. Yeah I use a tablet most of the time, unless I'm working in Illustrator on my laptop, then I might just use my touchpad. But when working in Photoshop I use my tablet, though I should start saving up for a new pen as mine is about to die. =P I've been considering getting a tablets. I hate using a mouse for this, it's unnatural. Ine, how did you do your shading? For the shading I usually just make a new layer on top of the base colour and then draw on that in a darker shade. Wondering if I should change my competition entry from the Record'Cycle to one of the stormtrooper T's?Could they be classed as robot/machine do you think? maybe not?... And if I should change, which is your prefered colouring of the design for entry? To be honest I'm a bit confused about the competition guidelines, so I'm not sure if the Stormtroopers would be acceptable or not. I'm not even sure if RedBubble delete entries that aren't acceptable. =P But yeah if you do go for the Stormtroopers one, like Goafer said don't pick the black shirt as it doesn't work too well, unless you were to give them a white outline so they would stand out.
Retro_Link Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 (edited) Yeah the competition seems to be getting a really wide variety of entries and some that you can clearly see are old designs that have been edited to just about fit the category. Maybe I'll leave my design as it is... I dunno. Edited August 22, 2009 by Retro_Link
Retro_Link Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 (edited) Just made my first T-Shirt sale!... All £2.40 of it!! The Stormtrooper design (Disco colours) on a black T. Edited August 24, 2009 by Retro_Link
Goafer Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Congrats. I'm still quite low on sales, only sold a couple. I need to whore myself out more methinks.
Retro_Link Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I need to start designing more T's!! I only have 4 listed, 3 of which are the same design!
Goafer Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 The Music Machines Challenge is now open for voting. Just thought I'd mention it since a few people here have entries. A recap: Eenuh Mine Retro Link (Did you stick with this one?)
Eenuh Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Congrats on the sale Retro_Link! =D Also to you and Goafer, I just made a thread in General Chit Chat to ask for people to vote, so post a link to your entry there so people can vote for it. I would post it myself but it would take ages to scroll through all the entries. =P
Paj! Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 It's on the verge of becoming what I call "Smiling Dolphin". The design is cool and ambiguous and strange, but then it has "Punk Rock!" written across it, which kinda counters the ambiguity of the image. I'd have a more open-ended single word there instead. Or nothing at all, and make the desgin the centerpiece. (with no red bits)
