Fierce_LiNk Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Ah, I guess, I think you need to sort your syntax out though Great games though, I'm really enjoying World Tour, yeah 75% of the song selection is a bit naff, but it's just fun to play. Reading through Villan's post, I think it was perfectly explained. GHIII had an easier way to tap without strumming than GHII, although it's been removed from WT. In GHII, you needed to press the fret button at the precise moment the note came up. In GHIII, you could press the fret button down before the note came up and it would still register. Now, World Tour has the slide feature; a way to play parts of songs without needing to strum at all. The part that I have bolded is the part that you quoted, Dazzy. But, if you read the whole post, it makes perfect sense. In GHII, you had this, this and this. In GH III, you had this. Now, in WT, you how this. I think he just listed what the previous games could do, and then listed an additional thing that hte new game could do. But yeah, there wasn't really a problem with what he was saying, if you read the whole thing.
dazzybee Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 For ultimate clarity it would have been better like this: GHIII had an easier way to tap without strumming than GHII. In GHII, you needed to press the fret button at the precise moment the note came up. In GHIII, you could press the fret button down before the note came up and it would still register. For World tour however, it has reverted back to the GHII system.
Roostophe Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Yeah, but I don't speak like that. With my Brummie accent, I'm not going to be easy to understand so I tend to speak without much clarity anyway.
welsh_gamer Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Just a quick question, as I haven't read anything regarding this in any reviews. If your playing vocals mode, can you listen to your performance afterwards?
dazzybee Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Just a quick question, as I haven't read anything regarding this in any reviews. If your playing vocals mode, can you listen to your performance afterwards? Nope!! Does anyone know if, unlike Rock Band, in online you can hear them sing or it still uses the master track?
tapedeck Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Went on the store today, Mr brightside and Human by the Killers were there. AWESOME. The Eagles songs are amazing too! Now I need to work out how to transfer stuff to an SD card.

tapedeck Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 I hadn't formatted the memory card...All done
Ganepark32 Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Question: In the music creator, can you lay down hammer on/pull off notes? So far I haven't been able to do as such and was wondering if it is possible. If not, it makes putting stuff into it a lot hard cause it'll just be constant strumming. I presume you can put in the tapping on the touch pad with the new guitar but I'm not using that.
Mokong Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Ok how exactly do the vocals work? Like when it comes to getting streaks, breaking streaks, building star power. And what changes when you increase the difficulty?
Ganepark32 Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 I don't know what changes with difficulty but I know if the singing is anything like on Rock Band, all you have to do to get a streak is keep the pitch at the corresponding level on the thing. For star power, I believe all you need to do is clap the mic or you can blow into it.

For star power, I believe all you need to do is clap the mic or you can blow into it. I meant what do you need to do to earn star power, like on guitar / drums it would be to his all the glowing star notes. Anyway: Noticed new DLC songs are up (on schedule) The Reggae Rock Track Pack 1.) "Jimi" by Slighty Stoopid 2.) "Your Face" by Pepper 3.) "Sacrifice" by Expendables All of the above are free.... I'm not into reggae but since they're free I might download them for the hell of it later on Also The Hard Rock Track Pack 1.) "Use Me" by Hinder 2.) "Because of You" by Nickelback 3.) "Light it Up" by Rev Theory All available for 200 points each, I already downloaded Nickelback, might get Rev Theory later. Next new DLC is expected for Jan 8th, Country Rock songs When is Iron Maiden gonna start getting on the DLC god damnit
Ganepark32 Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 AH right. Sorry. To get star power when singing, you basically do your 'singing' as normal. As long as you keep the pitch correct in the glowing lines then you'll get the star power.
tapedeck Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Hmmm, I'm thinking the DLC has been poor so far.
dazzybee Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Yeah, but I'd rather it be poor now when the game is still new and thus the 80-odd songs are still good enough
Dyson Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Actually Villan, HOPO's were in GH1, but they were kinda broken. I remember them referencing to it in a GH2 loading screen Frankenstein without HOPO's..good times!
Roostophe Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Yes, there were Hammer-ons and Pull-offs that came up on the note track in GH1, BUT YOU HAD TO STRUM ON ALL THE FUDGING NOTES! (That's how they were 'broken') That also means that, technically, they were NOT Hammer-ons nor pull-offs!
Dyson Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Haha that's right. Actually I'm sure they occasionally worked for me when playing GH1. Hm..would love to play it again.
Mokong Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Righty, think i'm hitting my ceiling on Guitar Career Expert, went through most of it, had a few songs where I stumbled but got through them after 2 or 3 tries. Up to the Times Square gig and stuck on Overkill... my god it's hard, I even tried practice and set speed to "slower" and still I sucked, ggrrrr. Also can't beat Zak Wylde Duel on Expert so I skipped it and not counting it (That last solo near the end with the slider notes is impossible to stay alive on) Think I'll go back to drums, beat the Drums on Normal and the first gig on Hard, Beat It on Hard Drums was awesome, I'll be amazed if I can finish Drum career on Hard.
tapedeck Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 I'd love to actually get some drums Sounds great fun though
Mokong Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I don't believe this... I just beat Trapped Under Ice on Guitar Expert on my first try... WTF? (albiet I was red for most the song, no idea how i stayed in it) I still can't beat One on GH3 on expert, damnit. Well stuck on Overkill and tried BYOB too (5% into the song is my best ), god damn my hand hurts
