Deathborn Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Trevor design from the Order of Ecclesia guide: I like this one. Really look like a true warrior. Simon should have been more like that. Still got too many useless belts but anyway... The two complete pages from the same guide:
Dante Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 The complete 14-character roster is: Simon Belmont Maria Renard Alucard Dracula Aeon Eric Lecarde Death Shanoa Golem Carmilla Trevor Belmont Grant Danasty Sypha Belnades Cornell new screens
Jonnas Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Grant - WTF. I thought he was bald! He looks a lot like Voldo, though. I guess he's the closest thing we have to L. :p Sypha - She's not wearing her druid habit, but she looks pretty good. Cornell - I have no idea about his original "Werewolf" design, but he looks pretty awesome here.
Deathborn Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Holy shit.. Grant is now the worst design of the bunch. Not a single trait remain of the original character. They try too much to be like soul calibur. They could have named it Fleaman and it wouldn't have been different. And just as planned, Sypha doesn't have her cloak. Cloaks, long floating hairs and alikes are probably banished because of laziness of developpers. Anyway, nice design but again: what's the point of a all-stars game if you can't recognize the characters ? Just to lure Death Note fans into buying the game since they already know hardcore fans will buy it anyway (maybe not?). Cornell's design is nice but Cornell is not some megaman robot. He's just a werewolf with all the organic stuff included. But again, fur is probably harder to render than metal. I also learned some time ago that Igarashi stated in an interview that they don't really care about balance, hence why he continuously say it's not a fighting game but a "3D versus action game".
Dante Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 New videos 'Victory Celebration' (Simon Vs Grant) 'Simon Vs Golem' (Simon Vs Zombies Vs Iron Gladiator) 'Alucard isn't afraid' (Alucard Vs Golem) 'Vampire Killer' (Simon Vs Sypha) 'Really Hot Battlefield' (Simon Vs Alucard, Furnace level)
Guest Maase Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Buh, no L But IGN's been talking good about this game, maybe i'l buy it
Dante Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Buh, no L But IGN's been talking good about this game, maybe i'l buy it new scan
Jonnas Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 It's not L. It's Rem. Yeah, I remembered Rem a while ago. But Grant also resembles L somewhat. But more Rem, definitely.
Guest Maase Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 new scan Hum... As i was saying: Buh... no L We have Rem, though
Dante Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Castlevania Judgement Opening Gameplay 1 Gameplay 2
Ren of Heavens Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Wow, so this game is actually pretty good!? 7.0 PresentationThis one is chalk full of references, characters, items, monsters, stages, and music from 20 years of Castlevania. The menus are a bit basic, but it captures the feel of the series. 8.0 Graphics The character design by Takeshi Obata (Death Note) is fresh and unique, but strange. Visual effects are amazing, and models are well made. Full 16:9, and 480p. Nice. 8.0 Sound There are some great compositions in here from two decades of source material, but it isn't as polished or ambitious as some remixes out there. Lots of VO and returning SFX. 7.5 Gameplay There's a lot to experience, with a large roster, different styles, counters, guard crushes, supers, charged specials, and sub-weapons with Item Crushes added in. Camera is a pain. 7.5 Lasting Appeal It's fun, but it could be bigger. Castle mode seems rushed, and lacks leveling, versatility, or any real guts. Online is fun, and battles are strategic due to great balance. 7.5 Good OVERALL (out of 10 / not an average) http://wii.ign.com/articles/931/931583p1.html As good as City Folk and better than ToS2...
darksnowman Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Hmm, a big fat D- on 1up. As a fighter, Castlevania Judgment employs too many design ideas that are neither well planned nor well executed. It's a strange misstep for the beloved series, one that Konami hopefully learns from. http://www.1up.com/do/reviewPage?cId=3171390&p=44
dazzybee Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Yeah but 1up is an atrocity of a game site, so......!!
Zechs Merquise Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Yeah but 1up is an atrocity of a game site, so......!! Too right - they are so confused and their reviews scores never make sense. I have never liked them.

K-project Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 For those of you still interested in this it's available to pre-order at Play.com for £17.99. It's got to be worth a punt for that? I think it looks quite fun in a Power Stone kind of way, and despite the reviews I've ordered it myself.

ShadowV7 Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Not a bad price actualy, a bit tempting. Will be doing the same as H-o-T.
Zechs Merquise Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 £17.99 is a great price, and considering it has full online play it seems an even better deal! I am tempted by this, even though it's had some negative press.
