jayseven Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 ninjavideo.net, amongst others, shut down. Dan Dare initially introduced me to the site which regularly had streams of the latest US tv shows before anyone else. In recent times I'd used it to stream less and less, preferring to use it as a 'tv guide' to see what was on last night, and what to download as a torrent. Obviously not 'bad' news in the sense that laws are being upheld, and not really something anyone can argue with... But still just more proof that the golden age of the internet is on its way out :'(
Paj! Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 I screamed at tvshack having a thing from the FBI on the front page, but then ceased when I just went to the new domain.
Twozzok Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 It's not just they shut it down. But they're messing with sites from other countries aswell, including the UK :/ http://www.allheadlinenews.com/articles/7019176708#ixzz0sZhPBT1i Also RIP ninjavideo I loved you
ReZourceman Posted July 3, 2010 Author Posted July 3, 2010 Party Down Cancelled Although not entirely unexpected due to ratings and Starz seems to be going in a different kind of direction. Oh well, two good years. CBS picks up 'Mad Love' for Midseason Sounds average but it stars Jason Biggs, Sarah Chalke, Judy Greer and Tyler Labine so it could be okay. WAIT....WAIT......WAIT. Martin Star is in Party Down? And Jane Lynch? And sexy Mean Girls, Cloverfield, True Blood chick? WTF. Why havn't I been watching this?$1q!!!cWS
Twozzok Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 To be fair, we need Hulu. Damn you...networks! Hulu is apparently paid now, with only the 5 most recent episodes available free :/

Why havn't I been watching this?$1q!!!cWS I've told you, and everyone, NUMEROUS times (probably at least twenty, as that's how many episodes there are) to watch this so fuck you for not listening to me. (Lizzie Caplan is the girl and Lynch was only in the first season and the very last episode because Fox are douches) And Paul Rudd is one of the producers, another selling point I've offered that's apparently fallen on deaf ears.

I've not read any posts where you've mentioned Paul Rudd tbf. But you watch all the shitty US dramas so it can't be helped that I ignored. :p
Ashley Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 (edited) http://www.n-europe.com/forum/showpost.php?p=893643&postcount=116 I don't watch shitty programmes (except Gossip Girl), that's the point! So screw you for being ignorant I don't watch video clips of tv shows unless I've seen it. Hardly ignorant. Finally, you also watch Glee. Definition of shitty. Which makes it plural thus I win. :p
Paj! Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 HMM! Ashley famously hates Glee. He only watched the ones in this series with famous guest stars he liked. (IIRC)
ReZourceman Posted July 4, 2010 Author Posted July 4, 2010 HMM! Ashley famously hates Glee. He only watched the ones in this series with famous guest stars he liked. (IIRC) .....Oh...... Well..... Yeah. I'm trying to think of stuff he watches that is bad, but I can just think of either good stuff or stuff I want to see. Humble win. Ash has good taste tbf. But I still say its not my fault for not watching it. Had limited timez for TV shows etc.

Humble win. Ash has good taste tbf. But I still say its not my fault for not watching it. Had limited timez for TV shows etc. Yeah I loathe Glee with a passion. It is one of the worst television show in years, not just because of its content but because of its popularity. Its crap dressed up in a shiny package and its being eaten up by a lot of people. It genuinely concerns me its going to overshadow quality and become akin to reality tv ten years ago. And I watched the first 13 or whatever but after the first...two or three I began to dislike it more and more and hoped it would get better but it only got worse, and yeah I watched the odd one from the back 9 when it had a guest star I liked who was, frankly, wasted. I will never watch another episode, even though Chenoweth is coming back next year. But yes, crap.
ReZourceman Posted July 5, 2010 Author Posted July 5, 2010 God help us if Glee do a Twilight special episode.

jayseven Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 I imagine Lost will pick up a few as well, for teh road. Cranston won Best Actor (drama) last two years running I think, so I think he'll be out of it this year. The guy who plays Jesse Pinkman hasn't won best supporting actor yet and he really deserves it -- this season he really pulled it out of the bag. I've not seen/kept up with most of teh shows watched so I can't make an educated guess -- shame to see Treme not nominated for more, for casting perhaps, as that's a fantastic show. But hey - emmies.
Ashley Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Weirdly that reminded me of the drama (heh!) surrounding the winner of this years Golden Globe for Best Male Lead in Drama (or whatever its called). Michael C Hall won and it was cut to a shot of Bill Paxton (another nominee) clapping and he turned to someone he was with and said something. It wasn't audible but a lot of people thought he said "I lost to cancer?" (as Michael C Hall had just announced he had cancer) and it caused an uproar until people pointed out he said "Dexter". Boardwalk Empire Given Premiere Date Being Sunday September 19th. For those who don't know its adapted from a book/written by Terence Winter (The Sopranos), the pilot is directed by Scorsese and stars Steve Buscemi, Michael Shannon and Michael K. Williams (among others obviously). Miraculous Year Adds Pace and Roache HBO's Miraculous Year is about a "New York family as seen through the eyes of a charismatic, self-destructive Broadway composer", played by Eddie Redmayne. The pilot is to be directed by Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker). In addition to having Hope Davis, Frank Langella and Patti LuPone in its cast they have added Lee Pace (Pushing Daisies, Wonderfalls) and Linus Roache (Law and Order). Still in the pilot making stage, will have to wait for a pick up. Brian Austin Green Joins Desperate Housewives After beating his share of Terminators Brian Austin Green (Sarah Connor Chronicles) faces his biggest challenge...Susan Myers/Delfino. One of the most infuriating characters ever. Apparently he is also married to Megan Fox o_O
Ashley Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Hulu Eyeing Up UK Again According to The Financial Times, the company wants to bring its new subscription service Hulu Plus to the British and Japanese markets. Hulu Plus enables viewers to watch box sets of programmes such as Glee and Family Guy on a range of devices for the monthly fee of $9.99 (£6.60). Hulu has apparently been working on plans for an international launch of Hulu Plus for several months, and has now identified the UK and Japan as markets where its free website and subscription model could gain the most traction. The firm has agreed deals with various consumer electronics groups to bring Hulu Plus to a range of connected devices. The service will soon be made available on Samsung IP-enabled TVs and Sony's PS3 in the US, along with plans to launch it on Microsoft's Xbox 360 console next year. More blabbering here. My guess is it'll fall through again. Rights and issues across countries are tricky. Plus they say they were tying to talk with ITV. ITV only show crap so what good is that? :p
Cube Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 ITV? What the fuck is the point of that? Agreed. We already have an ITV player. I would certainly pay for a subscription service that had all the US shows ready for streaming soon after they've aired.
Ashley Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 I guess by talking to ITV they are hoping to get the rights to show the shows they already have the rights to, but in the UK (e.g. maybe Gossip Girl, but I forget if that's on Hulu and too lazy to check but you know what I mean?) and maybe Corrie and all that too :p
Happenstance Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 (edited) If anyone remembers last year when I mentioned that there was gonna be a remastered Mighty Morphin Power Rangers show done in this thread, well apparently its started now. Heres part of the first episode: Apparently remastered for this just means adding some pointless effects and freeze frames. EDIT: Despite thinking its a crap remastering i'll probably end up watching them all through again. Just seeing that first ep again has made me all nostalgic. Edited July 13, 2010 by Happenstance
david.dakota Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 ITV? What the fuck is the point of that? I guess the deal would be a bit more than licensing content - as has been pointed out we have itvPlayer for that. If it were just licensing, Hulu could have launched with the US licensed content anyway. I guess a more formal partnership was on the cards. Theres lots of traction in the VOD market at the moment, i'd be surprised it Hulu doesn't launch. I do feel that, with the BBC proving iPlayer can work full screen on your TV (Via Freesat), more companies should have adopted this method (SeeSaw for example)
