dwarf Posted May 14, 2008 Share Posted May 14, 2008 For economics, our teacher has 'given' us 100,000 pounds to spend on shares. We have to invest in at least 5 different companies, but under 10. I was thinking that if I put in a lot of money into 1 company and got the decision right, then that would probably be the way to go. What companies should I buy shares from? Nintendo? BP? Ellmeister Posted May 14, 2008 Share Posted May 14, 2008 Well you also have to consider that if a business has been consistently doing well, to buy their shares initially it will cost a lot of money, so I wouldn't go for lots of petrol ones personally. don't go near northern rock you fool! Apple are a wise bet as they have a big conference coming up in a few weeks and Apple shares historically jump up a bit at these conferences. Basically, an experienced stock broker, a dentist and a four year old girl were all given a choice of shares, to see how well each of them would do.
