Maverick Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 I have just completed it, amazing game it nearly had me crying at the end! One thing which dissapoints me though is why did it never explain what happend to raiden and why he is in an exo skeleton?! amazing game and i believe i am gonna complete it on big boss mode well at least start tomorrow. And WOW at the cut scene after the credits ... just WOW!!!!!
Guest Jordan Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 After the big shell something happend to Raiden to make his body vastly deteriorate, hense only his spine and head are now intact.
Maverick Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Why was this never explained in the game? he is just a cyborg and everyone is okay with it ... thats my one gripe with the game. I am just glad you can pause the cut scenes by pressing the ps button.
Domstercool Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 It is explained somewhat by Raiden himself by what he says. He wanted to cut off his emotional ties with anything. Hahaha@ Act 5 you find out who someone is it's classic! Make you press those X buttons in the cutscenes
DiemetriX Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 I'w completed MGS4. And Ohhh what a game. It pretty much goes without saying, but this game was one hell of a ride. And for me who has a genuine interest in the story of MGS this game wraps it up good. This game is gorgeous and well thought through with million of small details and extras everywhere. But to be honest, this game is more fan service than a evolution. And all though this game is great, it's not my favorite MGS game. The boss fights where a let down and some of the movies scenes where way to long and without any important substance. But non the less, Buy this game, Play this game, Love this game. --- What reason Raiden had for trading in his humanity for a powered exo-skeleton suit is unknown, but it may have had something to do with the fact that the Patriots never gave him back his real blood when they replaced it with his nano-machines during the events of the Plant Chapter in MGS2
Retro_Link Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Regarding Raiden, Are they likely to have left it ambiguos, so as to make a future entry in the series that spans the story of Raiden?
Hero-of-Time Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Just finished it and the ending is epic as hell, especially when the Metal Gear Saga song kicks in. Even the lead up to the final battle was awesome with certain people pitching in. As a game I think it is pretty meh due to the fact that considering how long you are on the game the playtime is pretty small, even compared to the other Metal Gear games. I mean at one point last night I counted the time just for a laugh and it came out that I watched a 20-25 min cutscene, ran around a couple of places for 4 mins and then watched another 15-20min cutscene. So for me its basically an interactive movie. As a movie experience it is simply fantastic and I would love to watch it all on a blu-ray rather than doing the odd game section now and then. Overall it was a great experience but MGS3 still holds on to the title of best MGS for me. Time to pack away my PS3 until MGS5 arrives
Domstercool Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Well that doctor that helped him get his cybord body is supposedly from Metal Gear 2, hmm. Just finished the game. Gobsmackingly great. I didn't mind the cut-scenes because it add so much to the characters there were displayed in them. So I was happy to play this game because well.... IT'S FUCKING BRILLIANT! LOVED IT!
Caris Posted June 13, 2008 Author Posted June 13, 2008 Why has the thread title been edited? I liked my title
CoolFunkMan Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 I'm on Act 4 now, this game is incredible! Deffinitely game of the year! Although.... ..how the hell do you defeat Crying Wolf?!?!!? I keep trying, but I can't get a clear shot at her because she keeps on blowing me up, and there's too many gaurds everywhere to catch up with her. FFS!
Daft Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 I'm on Act 4 now, this game is incredible! Deffinitely game of the year! Although.... ..how the hell do you defeat Crying Wolf?!?!!? I keep trying, but I can't get a clear shot at her because she keeps on blowing me up, and there's too many gaurds everywhere to catch up with her. FFS! Its all about the anti tank baby, yeah! You can snipe her when she rests and exposes herself. When she charges at you I use the grenade launcher attachment on the M4. The whole thing was pretty easy once you figure it out. I need help. That bit when you are trying to open the wet door....Anyone got any tips? I keep getting spotted and raped. Once you get spotted there is no way to shake off the alarm and you're f*cked.
Daft Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Wet Door???? Its right at the beginning of Act 5. You are on the ship and you have to sneak to the door with the handle you have to twist. I can manage to get about 3/4 of the way there. I'm on the right side of the map currently hiding behind a column after squeezing through a gap. I can see the NE corner of the area and there are two guards patrolling but I have no idea how to get past them and then open the door without being seen.
Caris Posted June 13, 2008 Author Posted June 13, 2008 Use the Rail Gun to get rid of the Lizards then wipe out the few troops.
Daft Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Use the Rail Gun to get rid of the Lizards then wipe out the few troops. Are you sure the soldiers and gekko don't respawn? I tried going on a spree but after killing 6 gekko and god knows how many troops I guessed that they don't stop spawning.
ReZourceman Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 What did Rex vs Ray mean? Im still on Act 1 [/Epic n00b]
CoolFunkMan Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Its all about the anti tank baby, yeah! You can snipe her when she rests and exposes herself. Daft Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Ty for that, and I've done it now. ^^ Its a pretty daunting boss fight but not too tricky. Now I just need to get past where I am now. Its driving me nuts...
Choze Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Having fun. Taking my time. Loads of little easter eggs in the game. Gameplay is usperb. Game of the forever as some people say. Certainly feels like it when playing. Didnt realise you can control MKII in some cutscenes.
Chuck Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 I've just caught this guy wanking over some porn loli
DiemetriX Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 JOverall it was a great experience but MGS3 still holds on to the title of best MGS for me. Agreed. MGS3 > MGS4 Why has the thread title been edited? I liked my title Sorry Caris, but I edited so that it didn't spoil anything and so because "The Official MGS4 Thread" is a better thread title for the Official thread. Didnt realise you can control MKII in some cutscenes. Try attacking some of your friends with it in a cutscene I've just caught this guy wanking over some porn loli One of the things I love about the game is all of that which is hidden, You can play through the game may times and discover new tings each time. Most games make awesome things and make you have to discover them, MGS just adds a lot of awesome stuff for fans to find.
Choze Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 MGS3 has absolutely nothing on this. Especially gameplay wise. MGS3 is very rough in comparison to 4. Felt like a bridging to MGS4. The last generation MGS games had issues with the fact that they werent up to date on gameplay mechanics that many games were using as standard. MGS3 was like a stepping stone for Kojima but MGS4 is like a leap.
DiemetriX Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 [MGS4 > MGS3] Especially gameplay wise. I do agree that MGS4 has the best gameplay of the series. But MGS3 had better boss battles and a better story IMO. So over all I liked MGS3 better. (I played subsistence which is better than the original) Don't get me wrong. This game is awesome, and should be played. It's a lot better that GTA (not that those two games should be compared)
