Raikkonen's unlucky pump failure leaves old GP2 buddies Hamilton and Kubica on the front row. Should be a good race, though I think I'll catch the afternoon repeat for humans.

Only seven people actually finished, including Barrichello who was disqualified when he exited the pit lane while it was closed, though not before knocking over his own pump man. 0_o

Oh fan fraking tastic. I wonder if they'll bring back the old theme tune too? Interesting decision by ITV to drop it, I wonder what prompted that? While I am glad to see it back on the good ol' Beeb, as Murray Walker said, I figured they were doing a pretty solid job.

th_wave.gif See ya Steve Ryder, and good riddance!!

Really hope the rest of the ITV team, Martin, Ted, Mark, James [as OTT as he can get at times!] carry back over to the BBC though, because I think they work really well and I've gotten used to them all. I'd hate a new team!

No adverts will be awesome!

Also, whilst the old BBC theme is a classic I prefer the Moby remix that we have now! Though I guess it's bound to change!

I think it may have been more Bernie's decision, wanting to get rid of the adverts, improving the race coverage.

Hope the BBC give it the high class look that Forumla 1 deserves.

ITV have set a high standard with their music, [bond style] intro, results boards etc... it all looks very professional.

Makes me laugh a little bit, BBC drop Neighbours to Five and get Formula One back after what was it now, 12 years or so. A much better program and one that i may start watching again. Just have to wonder who they will use to present it, and will some of the presenters who lept to ITV come back to BBC.

It's strange because the only reason it went to ITV was because the BBC couldn't afford to keep it!

Murray moved from the BBC to ITV, and I REALLY hope the ITV team can move with the show [minus Steve]!

But I really can't think who'll present it!?

And please buck the themetune trend with this one BBC, because whilst Golf, Wimbledon, Snooker, Skiing, Darts etc... are catchy, they are fundamentally outdated shit!

Can't have been though, ITV terminated their own contract two years early. They claim it was a "commercial decision" but with the resurgence if F1s popularity, especially in Britain, it just doesn't make "commecial" sense on the face of things. MPs are already questioning exactly how much the BBC actually coughed up for it.

Cheerio James Allen \o/

tbh the only person from ITV's crew I would keep is Martin Brundle. As to why ITV got rid early, its worth remembering they have just shelled out a dickload to have the FA Cup and England home matches from next season. Which also will have freed up a fair bit of the BBC's budget.
