MadDog Posted March 13, 2008 Author Posted March 13, 2008 Do anymore people wanna join the ITV fantasy league ive set up? So far theres only me and gaggle lol The league name and PIN are back in the thread
Goron_3 Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 There are some pretty crap f1 tracks which are always utterly boring. The spanish and french grand prixs are so bad it's uncanny. So was that damn San Marino. I also dislike Monaco simply because you can't overtake.
gaggle64 Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Do anymore people wanna join the ITV fantasy league ive set up? So far theres only me and gaggle lol The league name and PIN are back in the thread Do it y'all. There's Monaco tickets to be won.

Gizmo Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Looking forward to it. I'll see how late I'm up playing Smash Bros, and then decide if I want to watch it live or not :p

gaggle64 Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 gud to see hamilton on pole Shud be a gud race tmw, its on again at 3pm isnt it? Yep. Repeat at 3pm, though you can catch the live race at 3:30am, if you just happen to be a bat.

MadDog Posted March 16, 2008 Author Posted March 16, 2008 Hamilton was superb, he was nearly always the fastest man on the track. Kovalinen was also very unlucky.
Gizmo Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Pretty cool race, a lot of retirements :p Mark Webber has to be the most unlucky driver ever.
canand Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Cool good one Hamilton and anybodey can record it if they got Sky+ or Sky HD
Gizmo Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7306123.stm Yes! No more bloody adverts. Hopefully whoever the BBC gets to present it won't be such morons aswell.
MadDog Posted March 20, 2008 Author Posted March 20, 2008 That im very happy at , i hate adverts in a middle of a race:(
gaggle64 Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Oh fan fraking tastic. I wonder if they'll bring back the old theme tune too? Interesting decision by ITV to drop it, I wonder what prompted that? While I am glad to see it back on the good ol' Beeb, as Murray Walker said, I figured they were doing a pretty solid job.
Retro_Link Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 See ya Steve Ryder, and good riddance!! Really hope the rest of the ITV team, Martin, Ted, Mark, James [as OTT as he can get at times!] carry back over to the BBC though, because I think they work really well and I've gotten used to them all. I'd hate a new team! No adverts will be awesome! Also, whilst the old BBC theme is a classic I prefer the Moby remix that we have now! Though I guess it's bound to change! Interesting decision by ITV to drop it, I wonder what prompted that?I think it may have been more Bernie's decision, wanting to get rid of the adverts, improving the race coverage. Hope the BBC give it the high class look that Forumla 1 deserves. ITV have set a high standard with their music, [bond style] intro, results boards etc... it all looks very professional.
Jimbob Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Makes me laugh a little bit, BBC drop Neighbours to Five and get Formula One back after what was it now, 12 years or so. A much better program and one that i may start watching again. Just have to wonder who they will use to present it, and will some of the presenters who lept to ITV come back to BBC.
Retro_Link Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 It's strange because the only reason it went to ITV was because the BBC couldn't afford to keep it! Murray moved from the BBC to ITV, and I REALLY hope the ITV team can move with the show [minus Steve]! But I really can't think who'll present it!? And please buck the themetune trend with this one BBC, because whilst Golf, Wimbledon, Snooker, Skiing, Darts etc... are catchy, they are fundamentally outdated shit!
Jimbob Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 My bets on Ray Stubbs for presenting. Or Adrian Chiles. Who else isn't doing much these days who could be placed presenting the F1
gaggle64 Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 I think it may have been more Bernie's decision, wanting to get rid of the adverts, improving the race coverage. Can't have been though, ITV terminated their own contract two years early. They claim it was a "commercial decision" but with the resurgence if F1s popularity, especially in Britain, it just doesn't make "commecial" sense on the face of things. MPs are already questioning exactly how much the BBC actually coughed up for it.
BeerMonkey Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7306123.stm Yes! No more bloody adverts. Hopefully whoever the BBC gets to present it won't be such morons aswell. awesome news just hope they keep the commentators etc and the guy that does the grid walk (cant think of his name at mo) glad to see williams back this year as im a fan of heidfeld prob most underated on the grid
Noodleman Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Cheerio James Allen \o/ tbh the only person from ITV's crew I would keep is Martin Brundle. As to why ITV got rid early, its worth remembering they have just shelled out a dickload to have the FA Cup and England home matches from next season. Which also will have freed up a fair bit of the BBC's budget.
canand Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Howcome it not going to be on BBC untill next Year.
