Fruitgun Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Ahh, Fable, how I remember the awesomeness you had. Now move over and make way for the next one! There wasn't a thread about this.. I don't think, so here, have one! There's a ton of new things this time round, the inclusion of a dog companion; Not to mention, Co-Op?! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfcclBmVhN4 Man it gets better and better. Also, take a trip to ye olde Official Website, and check out some of the new screenies! Hobbes away! http://www.lionhead.com/fable2/screenshots.html The titles as well are taking a beating, what with the inclusion of the new title: Lionheart, (personally I love this title, and will DEFO use it!) The developers have become tired with.. Dare I say it.. 'Areseface'! And have challenged the community to create another title in it's place! http://www.lionhead.com/fable2/news/458 And the release date has been speculated to be around late 2008 sometime. I'd place my bets on near Autumn to be honest.
Daft Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 As long as it doesn't crash constantly in certain places like like the original then I'll be pretty happy.
Aimless Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 I'm kind of avoiding information on this so as to avoid being 'Molyneauxed'. I'll definitely be picking it up, though: I enjoyed the first game, even if it was a pale imitation of the game the years had built it up to be. Oh, but if anyone shoots my wife I'll be forced to come and trample on your flowers and kick your chickens!
Guest Jordan Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 "Ohhhh, its the chicken chaser!" Fable was basically the Lylat Wars of RPG's. I liked it, really liked it... but it was nothing special. Peter Molyneaux talks so much bull shit its actually annoying...
Daft Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 To be fair to Molyneaux, he has gotten better. Everything he has said will be in it he has shown...at least to my knowledge,
Fandango Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Really looking forward to this game, the co-op should be immense. I could see this being delayed into early next-year though, it is trying to achieve an awful lot at once!
McPhee Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 I can't wait! Loved the first game (though i never completed it, my PC broke and i couldn't be arsed to start again). I can't help but worry that co-op is gonna turn in to you're partner mindlessly killing NPCs for "the shits and giggles" though
Fruitgun Posted March 2, 2008 Author Posted March 2, 2008 I can't wait! Loved the first game (though i never completed it, my PC broke and i couldn't be arsed to start again). I can't help but worry that co-op is gonna turn in to you're partner mindlessly killing NPCs for "the shits and giggles" though Haha, yeah I can imagine that happening too. But let's be honest, who in the first game DIDN'T just say: "Ah screw being good!" And run around the school place killing EVERYONE then seeing how long you could survive against the guards? ...Well, I did
Guest Jordan Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Thats strange you say that. I never did that on my first play through. I was just good to everyone! ... Apart from when i killed an entire village and put all the houses up for rent to make me stupidly large amounts of money.
McPhee Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Haha, yeah I can imagine that happening too. But let's be honest, who in the first game DIDN'T just say: "Ah screw being good!" And run around the school place killing EVERYONE then seeing how long you could survive against the guards? ...Well, I did Yup, thats what i did. Usually didn't save the game though If anyone pissed me off i killed them, they're family, they're friends and a whole army of guards. Then i'd reload from the last save
That Guy Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I'm definitely interested in this game, although obviously not expecting the best game ever. Definitely wouldn't play co-op as it seems pretty easy to fuck up someones game for them.
nightwolf Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I've been playing the original recently, it's brilliant, I've loved it for years now ^.^ I'm planning on getting an xbox360 in june and the first game I shall buy should hopefully be fable 2, the trailers look brilliant. As it is I haven't ever managed to finish fable so I'm abit confused on whether the original hero is in this one or is it a new hero? ps. I've started to get white hair on halo haha XD even though I'm realllllly nice to everyone..where possible.
McPhee Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Download and an Xbox 360? In the same month? Somebodys spoilt :p
nightwolf Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 the tv and xbox360 is coming out of my own money for my wages, plus the money I need for food, my parents are only paying for the ticket for download :P pssh.
Guest Stefkov Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 This looks awesome. I love how you can starve your kids if you want to. I've never played the first, I might pick it up.
spirited away Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 This looks awesome. I love how you can starve your kids if you want to.QUOTE] Lol. How vindictive! I can't wait to kill my mates' spouses (although I suspect that may spark off a malicous battle).
McPhee Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 the tv and xbox360 is coming out of my own money for my wages, plus the money I need for food, my parents are only paying for the ticket for download :P pssh. Fair enough then, would be a bit hypocritical for me to complain considering my parents bought me my first Leeds ticket (and one for my then GF, which i sold for £150 when we broke up, giving me my spending money) What games you picking up?
nightwolf Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Fair enough then, would be a bit hypocritical for me to complain considering my parents bought me my first Leeds ticket (and one for my then GF, which i sold for £150 when we broke up, giving me my spending money) What games you picking up? I'll probably pick up fable 2 ^.^, assassins creed, devil may cry 4 at least. ^.^ I best go read up more on fable 2.
nightwolf Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Do not buy Assassin's Yeah I know apprently it's not good but I'm getting it anyway.
S.C.G Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Yeah I know apprently it's not good but I'm getting it anyway. Buy it on eBay, theres probably loads of em going cheap on there by now, that way even if you do get it and you don't like, it's not so bad. *back on topic* Never played the original Fable, was curious about it but never bothered, I haven't seen anything on Fable 2 but I'm guessing it's like the same or similar to the original but bettererer? ... So I may get it, depending on how many other games I still have left to complete by then.
Guest Stefkov Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 It's not not good Jordan. It's one of the best and worst games I've played. Free running was awesome. It made it one of the best games I'd palyed last year. The story was shit, that made it the worst game I had played last year. Seriously, the story was really bad, I wish they just left you in ancient times and had to assassinate these people. But there will be a second though so the story might mean something. It was the Halo 2 of the Assassins Creed franchise. Hopefully.
nightwolf Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Hmm oh well, is there a storyline to fable 2..? EDIT: guns in fable...eurgh wtf?
