Dan_Dare Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 proof of the merit of a good cover: The Beach Boys didn't write Sloop John B.
EEVILMURRAY Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Why? Does it have more cowbell...? Yes. Yes it does.
Cube Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Umbrella by Tegan and Sara is a joke. At least it isn't torture like the original.
chairdriver Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 At least it isn't torture like the original. Yeah, I meant it was a joke in like its a funny thing to listen to; ie. in a positive sense of the word.
Dog-amoto Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Velvet Revolver's cover of ELO's "Can't Get it Out of My Head" is pretty good
Fierce_LiNk Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Why? Does it have more cowbell...? LOL, not sure if anybody else got it. Good reference, dude. I love The Futurehead's version of Hounds of Love. It's a great cover, truely awesome. Also, as others have mentioned, Hurt by Johnny Cash is a beast. Love it. I'm also pretty in love with the Muse version of both Feeling Good and Can't Take My Eyes off you. Both are immense.
Arnieboy Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 Of course, there are far more occasions where the cover artists get it wrong. McFly covering Queen, anyone? As a massive Queen fan who hates McFly, i think that cover is a massive insult >_> But saying that i don't like any cover of Queen, you just can't match Freddie for vocals so leave Queen's songs alone. Especially Bohemian Rhapsody *shoots G4*
