Daft Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Is anyone going to this? Play.com Live will showcase the hottest game titles and entertainment arriving in the next twelve months and beyond. Taking place at Wembley Stadium, Play.com Live allows the most important people to get hands on with titles months before they arrive in the Play.com warehouse! We'll also be giving away huge prizes over the course of the two-day event, including two chances to win £50,000 as well as free goodie bags for all attendees. Doors open at 10am and close at 6pm on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th March 2008. There are going to be some pretty big companies there. http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=32416 I just bough two tickets. Sounds like it will be a bit of fun. Forgot, :p tickets on sale here, £16: http://www.play.com/Games/Xbox360/4-/3582281/Play-com-Live-VIP-Weekend-Ticket/Product.html#
Rummy Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 I'd go if it wasn't 3 days before my damn dissertation is due, goddamn it! Sounds kinda good, but the fact it's done by play.com makes me want to go even more, they've never done me wrong in the past and for some reason I feel alot of gratitude/loyalty to them.
blender Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 is this like a poor mans e3? shame i cant think of any titles I am desparate to see in advance. though sounds fun
ShadowV7 Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 I might go. Depends when in March and if it's on any of the days i'm off Uni.
Rummy Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 is this like a poor mans e3? shame i cant think of any titles I am desparate to see in advance. though sounds fun Yeah, they might have that game there though...erm, forgot it's name...what's it called? Brawl?? Is that it? I dunno...I don't think it's too well known at the moment...

Will Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 I'll be going along with a few mates I think. Should be good so long as there's some decent titles being displayed there. Worth supporting anyway imo as it would be nice to have a big games show become a yearly thing here anyway.
welsh_gamer Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 I'd love to go, but it's only 360 stuff on show yes, seeing as it's only advertised in the 360 section on Play.com
spirited away Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 What's the benefit of getting a Vip ticket?
Will Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 What's the benefit of getting a Vip ticket? I think its just that you get the 2 days slightely cheaper than buying them separately. I don't think there's any extras with it but I could be mistaken.
Rummy Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 I'd love to go, but it's only 360 stuff on show yes, seeing as it's only advertised in the 360 section on Play.com An interesting point you raise, I revoke my previous over the top and uncalled for sarcasm, proceeding to hang my head in shame. If it's just 360 stuff, whilst no doubt going to be nice, I'd be less inclined to bother tbh(though a 360 does lie in my plans for the future).
Twozzok Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Why would Sony be attending if it was 360 only?
Cube Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Why would Sony be attending if it was 360 only? Because Sony are obviously going to drop the PS3 now they've won the Blu-Ray war and work with Microsoft to battle Nintendo. You heard it here first.
spirited away Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Dam it. They just updated the site, and now an adult ticket is stated to be for ages 17 and over - not 16. Great. Will a child's ticket restrict you from playing certain games? (Can't find much info on this).
Guest Jordan Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Lol owned by own age. Yeah, you probably will be only able to play games in your own age range.
Rowan Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Unless I'm mistaken, but isnt one of the chances to win £50k to do with the PES 2008 tournament that they are having? (But you had to buy the game through Play.com) Not sure what the other £50k chance is though.
spirited away Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 http://www.play.com/Games/Xbox360/4-/5172963/Play-com-Live-Sunday-Full-Day-Ticket/Product.html?dpr=131263 "Packed full of top titles including Lego Indiana Jones, Ghostbusters, Soul Calibur 4, Condemned 2 and Rock Band." SC4. Nice.

Will Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Has anyone had their tickets yet? I'm still waiting for the one I ordered via the site for a mate as well as my pass through work. Not sure if I'm just unlucky or they're taking ages in doing it.
