What should be the next Resident Evil game to Wii?A Port or a new IP?

I'd like to see an Anthology remake. Basically port 0 + 1 with Wii controls, remake 2 & 3 and bundle in 4. Then release the lot in a single £40 bundle a month before Resi 5 to create hype.

 

Either that or start a new story arc for the Wii and have epiodic content for the game ala HL2 EP1+2. You could then have the character in the Wii game moving in and out of the main story arc!

Like RE4 but with a slightly panned out camera and the ability to shoot while running. Slightly different enemies too, instead of being mostly illuminados, have monsters as well ala doom.

I wouldn't really like RE5 to come to Wii, instead I'd prefer to see an original take on the Resi series for the Wii.

 

I'm saying this because I'd be buying the 360 version of RE5 and to release RE5 for Wii would be pointless for mii :P :P

Why limit our choices if we can have both?

What I am saying is,of course we would like a RE4-like Resident with a RE4+ engine and a storyline concerning Leon ( a RE2 remake or a RE4-2 side story) and after that a port of RE5!

In any way,no another RE Umbrella Chronicles game!Wii proved that has the demographic for RE games with great sales!

A remake of RE2 definately - but a remake like the original on the Cube with new areas, puzzles and a few new bosses. I'd also like it if you could go through the game as Ada & Sherry and see things from their perspective.

For me it would have to be a remake of Resident Evil 2. They could keep the story the same but change the graphics and gameplay style to that used in Resident Evil 4.

 

Yeah, either this or a new game in the style of RE4:WE.

I'd like and certainly buy a remake of RE0-3 with the RE4 engine.

 

Then, a Wii version of RE5 (although, the way its going, i'd wager it hitting stores during the next generation of 2012!). I can't imagine going back to the dual analogue controls for it!

I think they should make the three RE films into games.... they need a hot woman in it! + they had a good story (good enough for games anyway) + we would get some superhuman powers as well as titties

Some decent ideas here. I'm not a huge RE fan- if they could remake the ones before RE 4 and give them Wii controls that would be pretty cool. If I had to choose one to get the treatment it would be obviously Code Veronica.

This makes me think of Starwars and all its expanded universe mayhem. Like in Shadows of the Empire you played as Dash Rendar and the story wove in and out of that of the films from time to time- Hoth, Echo Base, etc.

A new installment (IP is something different) would be awesome, but I would probably be equally satisfied with RE2make.

That's the most disgusting idea I've ever heard. The films are awful, especially the second one, and seemingly the third one too. They bastardise the storylines and characters, and are just crap. There's a forth coming too by the way.

Nah the films werent all that bad. If you have an open mind then you will be entertained and they have set their own little niche. Thing is why re-tell the story when the games did it so well anyways.

OK, so I can let the first film slide, I thought it was kinda decent, for one even though it didn't feature any characters from the games it also did not take place in the time frame of any of the games (in fact takes place a before RE:Zero even), so it can be easily fitted into the RE mythology.

But would I like to see it made into a game, not really. It told it's story which is set outside of the games and therefore no need to bring that story into the games.

 

The 2nd film had potential, it had some good fan service moments...however it paid no attention to the mythology and totally bastardized it.

Sure it have characters from the games, but it had them doing things at a time when they were meant to be doing something else in the games universe.

But i kinda let this one slide too by using the "alternate" universe explanation.

They could have actually made this film fit into the game universe easily is they replaced Jill with Rebecca, and for Carlos and co, just make new characters...or even use Billy (I still think he is working for Umbrella), seeing as both those have not had their whereabouts mentioned since RE2. (What the hell happen to them Capcom?)

 

Would I like to see it become a game? HELL NO. Of course the main reason being you can't have characters doing two things in two different places at the same time, we have RE3 already so Jill and co can't be doing anything else in that time period. And the "alternate" universe excuse can't be used, because the RE universe can be confusing enough as it is without adding an alternate universe storyline.

 

The 3rd film has NO redeeming aspects, characters who survive the 2nd film make no appearance and have no explanation for what happened (Jill and the little girl...who seemed to be somewhat important), They add Claire into the mix but with no reference to RE2, Leon or anything the character didn't need to be called Claire at all, it was pointless. The setting of the game was a nice way to try and take the films out of the games timeline so they wouldn't have that continuity issue the 2nd film had with the game, but the post-apocoliptic world was dull and boring. The Tyrant at the end was ALL WRONG and just didn't work. And Wesker didn't do jack in it? If there was one thing that could have made this film half decent it was that Wesker was in it. I only went to see because of that, thinking "surely it's not possible to make a bad film if they have Wesker in it"....how wrong was I. All they had to do was have him actually do something, anything, kick some ass, make some evil comments and generally be as awesome as he is in the games...what did he do in the film? He sat there......that's all.

Would I like to see this be made a game.....I'd rather play Superman 64 :heh:
