Daft Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Cool, cheers guys! I'll hold on a little longer. (Fingers crossed something is announced at GDC though, I'm a bit impatient! :p)
Strider Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 There is no way Resi will be out at the end of March. I used Play.com's release dates, not very reliable i know.
Guest Jordan Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Resi 5 = 2009. Seriously. RE4 was in development for like 4 years or something daft.
McMad Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Resi 5 = 2009. Seriously. RE4 was in development for like 4 years or something daft. RE4 was in development hell for a lot of that time though. If it weren't for one of the failed early concepts of the game then Devil May Cry wouldn't exist. Work on the real RE4 didn't begin until sometime after the preview of the final beta of the game at E3 2003. But yeah it's confirmed now that RE5 isn't going to make it for 2008, so this one is probably having problems too.

Columnar Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Lost Planet Multiplayer Demo is up on PSN this week according to CVG. Only lets you play with 8 people but the full game can be played with 16.
Hero-of-Time Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 God of War: Chains of Olympus seems to be as good as it promised. Let's wait and see. Indeed! I just read the review over at IGN ( http://uk.psp.ign.com/articles/852/852821p1.html ) and I cant wait for the release. I loved both GoW games on the PS2 and this looks like it will live up to the high standards set by the previous 2 games. I actually prefer GoW over DMC, cant wait to see what GoW3 looks like on the PS3.

So i've preordered from VGP and it's roughly £25! Looks AMAZING! MOST definately the PSP's best game, lets hope there's HUGE bosses come intact, that would be impressive.... Patapon and GOW: Chains Of Olympus in a few short weeks! PSP has finally got some new games! I must get the new Sypthon Filter game as well on it....
Owen Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Any news on a PS3 Syphon Filter? Not yet, there should be one though! Oh and 'Secret Agent Clank' PSP looks cool as well!
Fandango Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Not yet, there should be one though! Oh and 'Secret Agent Clank' PSP looks cool as well! It looks very cool, can't wait for it to come out! Finishing off Ratchet and Clank PSP right now, though its a great game its verrry buggy, for me at least.
Domo Kun Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 I got my PS3! Oh wow! It's so awesome! Been playing some Assassin's Creed- incredible! I'm downloading a Burnout demo, it's 40% and it's been downloading for about an hour, should it be taking this long? My internet connection is fairly fast...

My internet connection is fairly fast... No i don't think it should. My downloads take about 10 minutes max. You using wireless?
Domo Kun Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 No i don't think it should. My downloads take about 10 minutes max. You using wireless? Really? Oh shit... Yeah I'm using wireless, but it says signal strength is 100%! Urm... on the connection settings status screen it says the following (which I don't understand)- -UPnP - Not Availible -NAT Type - Type 2 -Proxy Server - Do Not Use -MTU - Automatic -Channel - 13 Does that tell anyone anything useful? My PSP, Wii, PC all work very fast... My Wii downloads, for example, are fast... hmm... Help!
Strider Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 I think it's been said before that the PS3 is slow with the old wireless. I use a cable, nice and fast. I'll switch over to wireless and give it a little download test. Yeh it's slower.

Guest Jordan Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 The PS3's wireless is actually pretty terrible. Wired > All
flameboy Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 hmmm....that was a big plus point in getting PS3 over 360... that it was wireless out of the box and easy to use, plus of course no fee for online...
Guest Jordan Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Depends, i still prefer Live over the PSN. PSN's updates pretty much suck for Europe, the lack of cross game voice chat, universal friends lists...
Owen Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Depends, i still prefer Live over the PSN. PSN's updates pretty much suck for Europe, the lack of cross game voice chat, universal friends lists... Yeah it still needs more work definately. I prefer PSN games to Live's though...i think it's because they feel that your getting more for your money? No idea....
Domstercool Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Could be worse, like have friend codes.
Domo Kun Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Having to buy an ethernet cable is preferable to subscribing for Xbox Live though right? And then you'd have to buy a wireless adaptor. I dunno, I've had very little experience with Xbox live, but I'm impressed with the demos on the PStore. The only game I want a demo of that they don't have is COD4. The demos are taking about an hour each to download on wireless now... I'm going to buy an ethernet cable for sure.
flameboy Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 hopefully Home will sort out all the lack universal friend lists and stuff coupled with the in game XMB will make it on a par with Live.
Aimless Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Choze, you realise that Phil Harrison makes more balanced comments than you, right? PSN has the potential to top Live, and it certainly scores a few points over it already, but at the moment Sony's service simply isn't of the same standard. And that last word is important: standardisation is Live's major triumph, and until the online experience of the PS3 can get those basics down its far too early to declare its victory. Personally I prefer PSN to Live, partly because I have faith that we will see the former come on leaps and bounds, but claiming that it's "well beyond" Live is pure fallacy.
