Cube Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Hardly anyone uses mics in public games. It's what makes PC online better than XBL.
Mikey Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 It's what makes PC online better than XBL. Well, at least you don't have any screeching teens calling you a faggot in a high pitches voice when they're probably not even old enough to play the game they are playing.
Hellfire Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Aye it's true, on PC Games no one uses headsets in online FPS.What makes LIVE So much better, basically everyone uses it. Wow, thinking LIVE is better than online PC... wow. I mean, on PC games, if you NEED voice, you have tons of guys using headsets, I hardly play CS, but almost everytime I pop by, every server where people use tatics they have mics. For other games, the mic is just a way for teenagers to insult you. I'm sorry but I can't just cope with that logic.
Caris Posted October 26, 2007 Author Posted October 26, 2007 That's not the service thats the players.
Gizmo Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 My mic is broken and I don't have a spare. The mics that MS include in the box are rubbish.

The problem with PC is players are split between in-game, ventrillo and teamspeak. Sure, 3 quarters of people who run Steam have mics but i rarely hear anyone speak. It's not helpful when a Spy is ransacking all of my buildings or you know where the bag carrier is etc. The difference with Live is that nearly everyone has a mic and is using it on the same service, hence better communication. Im sure things will improve on PC though, all i need to do is find a good server, stick to it and find out what voice service they use
Domstercool Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 There's already new maps for TF2 on Steam, gotta love the mod community, something that the 360 version will never have.
thirtynine. Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 The waterlevel in the vehicle is so badly done on 360. The controlls are so horrible.
Chuck Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Forget about RS, just use LS, feel the force, let it flow through the LS
thirtynine. Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Forget about RS, just use LS, feel the force, let it flow through the LS But when you get the gun thing you need LS they should have just stlent teh halo system
Domstercool Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 I wouldn't want no Halo system with my Half-Life 2, I'd like to shoot independently than having to turn and shoot at the same time.
thirtynine. Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Yeah, maybe its just because im used to the halo system, but i hate having to push forward and turn with the same stick, its beyond annoying.
AshMat Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Oh that always annoyed the crap outta me in halo, i wanted to look behind me in a vehicle but the damn thing turned when i tried.
BeerMonkey Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 just finished portal loved it dont know what to make of the 360 version of tf2....no grenades...16 ppl max. Seems like spies get through to easy to destory sgs
Gizmo Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 The more I play HL2 the more I love it. I've had it on my PC for years but never played it as I only bought it for CS:S.
Mikey Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 The waterlevel in the vehicle is so badly done on 360. The controlls are so horrible. It controls the same on the PC. The movement keys make it go forward and turn, while you use the mouse to look. Can't say I've ever had a problem with it myself.
Chuck Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Apparantly there is an orange box update. Demoman was nerfed. His magazine capacity was dropped to 4 from 6 and they grens no longer explode on contact after they bounce but they do detonate a bit quicker now when they lie on the ground. Also the pyro damage was increased based on range. I heard the sapper & heavy glitches were fixed as well.
Mikey Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Got all of the achievements for Episode 1. Gonna start Episode 2 achievements tomorrow

Can't say I've ever had a problem with it myself. My point was, with it being a pc game, the controlls were made for the pc. but on the 360 is dosent work aswell.
Domstercool Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 I've not had a problem with it, then again I knew what it would control like since I'd finished the PC version.
Mikey Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 I've not had a problem with it, then again I knew what it would control like since I'd finished the PC version. Not had a problem with it either. In fact, I prefer the 360 controls because it's more comfortable.
KKOB Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Why the hell does HL2 scare me?!?! I think it's the creepy things that suck you up on the ceiling that freaks me out the most . . . least so far . . .
Owen Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Half Life 2 is like even better then i thought it was going to be, it's excellent. Superbly paced, something different round every corner, excellent. Portal is amazing as well, so innovative!
Mikey Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Why the hell does HL2 scare me?!?! I think it's the creepy things that suck you up on the ceiling that freaks me out the most . . . least so far . . . Those used to freak me out, along with the head crabs, but mainly in HL1. Now I'm desensitized to them.
Mikey Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Just beat Portal for the first time. Has a nice twist at the end.
