Tellyn Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Exactly Shadow. I don't understand why an inferior handheld can have online gameplay whilst a home console can't.
pedrocasilva Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 I think a petition is in order. Would anyone here mind a delay till Q3/4 if they can work in WiiConnect24 and online multiplayer? Not at all, in fact I'm definetly not buying it without online. Petition, please... and hatemail.
phazonwarrior Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 yeah its pretty much a non-starter without online... is there one of the worms series on VC?? £7 maximum price for a VC worms or £40 for the online-free open warfare
g0recki Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 No VC Worms as of yet. Still not buying this though.
Tales Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Someone sent a mail to Team17: I just sent email to team 17 and this is what they said "NO ONLINE!!!" I send and recieved the answer in January 18, 2008 >Hi, I am one of the biggest fan on your worms series. >When I read IGN interview, it said worms: space odyssey will have online play. >But the recent Nintendo Power says it is not going to have online play. >This became one of the biggest issues in worms forums and many people are >starting to say that they are not going to buy this game. >I belive that worms can only be successful when people have competitive >matches online so I do not trust Nintendo Power, but I still >want to know the truth. >Thank you very much for reading this email and I will be waiting for your >answer. >I can't wait for the new worms game. Hello, Firstly, thanks for taking the time to mail. We appreciate the time and effort involved in mailing, and enjoy hearing from the people who play our games.... we think it's one of the things that has kept the brand evergreen for so many years. In answer to the issue you highglight in your email, I'm afraid that online will not be present in A Space Oddity. While I appreciate many gamers would like to see that feature, we're not able to change the release date due to contractual obligations with THQ. I'm really sorry that I can't be more helpful in this instance, but hope that you appreciate the effort and love that we *have* put into the game. Whether you end up purchasing it or not (and I can understand if you're a hardcore fan of the game, maybe "Worms Open Warfare 2" on PSP or DS: two online-centric versions of the game, would be a flavour you'd enjoy more), I'd like to thank you for taking the time to mail and say that we greatly appreciate the feedback we get from fans of the game. Best Regards John Dennis (Design Manager) [email protected]
Gaijin von Snikbah Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 They probably think it wont be profitable enough to implement online.
c0Zm1c Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 They probably think it wont be profitable enough to implement online. And yet, ironically, they're going to lose money by not putting the online in it. Oh well, that's saved me £30.
pedrocasilva Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 They probably think it wont be profitable enough to implement online. From the response it's not them, it's THQ that doesn't allow the date to budge. Should we e-mail THQ now? if we do make a racket... who knows.
the_villa Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 it's 2d and here's some pics of it http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/wii/image/943088.html
That Guy Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 I'm not getting it without online so thq are just screwing themselves over.
Guest Maase Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 I'l problably buy it anyway ^^ I just have to get the right timing to buy it
aenaos Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 It s so stupid for the developers not to include online mode in games like this..I hope this situation will be improved as it hapened with the Ds..Fortunately i have already Worms 2 for the Ds which is very fun to play.
Noku Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Damn. Yet again I seem to be among the few that don't consider online a must. I regret that they couldn't implement it, but am much more pleased about the prospect of playing this with real people. Consider your game bought, Team17!
c0Zm1c Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 I'll just dig out my copy of Worms World Party, a seven-year old PC version of the game that does have online. I wonder if anyone still plays it?
flameboy Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Not a cat in hells chance of me buying this now...reading Tails' email...how stupid are they in the email they recommend PSP and DS versions, almost as if they are admitting yeah should have had but buy these other versions that are actually better...
Cube Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 how stupid are they in the email they recommend PSP and DS versions, almost as if they are admitting yeah should have had but buy these other versions that are actually better... I guess that promoting the DS/PSP versions over the Wii one is the best way that they can argue with THQ.
dwarf Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Hey this is out soon, thinking of buying. Yes online would have been great, but after just finding it doesnt, I didnt feel much disappointment. The only thing that will stop me buying this is if I can't buy this along mario kart or if I cant get it for less than 30 quid. http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/857/857568p1.html coolness
