Mundi Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Been reading Batman for the most part of the day. The old batman from the 1940´s. I just love how he and Robin aren't really that bothered over killing people accidentally. They just go: "Oh well" and move move on.
Happenstance Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Well, its....interestingly ok how he beats him, i wouldn't call it amazing, i wish they fleshed the battle out tbh though... In other news. http://www.amazon.com/Amazing-Spider-Man-Complete-Comic-Collection/dp/B000HKIM7Q Every amazing spiderman comic evar! Yeah ive got that, havent actually read many of the issues though. Oh and I thought "The Other" story was bollocks.
ReZourceman Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 In Astonishing Spidey, i'm in the middle of The Other: Evolve or Die. I was really underwhelmed by his fight with Morlun. Just really bad. Especially considering he ripped out his eye and like killed him. I await to see how this concludes, though I obviously know he doesn't die... I think the end is good....shame they've ignored the outcome since.
DomJcg Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Yeah ive got that, havent actually read many of the issues though. Oh and I thought "The Other" story was bollocks. Query, when does vemon enter? i'm up to volume 7/8 of amazing and other than the first story (and the meteor man) i haven't seen any of him. Also, does it include secret wars or will i look elsewhere for that.
Happenstance Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 It doesnt have secret wars and if I remember right Venom comes in issue 300
Paj! Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Yeah, but it's better to read all of the Symbiote stuff beforehand. Astonishing Spidey has been reprinting the Hobgoblin saga, and it's great. I never realised he was such a big thorn in Spidey's side back in the day. That also includes his first adventures in the black suit. You have to buy Secret Wars in tpb form seperately however.
ReZourceman Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Anyone still watching Spectacular Spider-Man? It was the black costume episode this week.
DomJcg Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Anyone still watching Spectacular Spider-Man? It was the black costume episode this week. If you PM me a link i will =] Best villian ever anyone? i heart magneto
Paj! Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Anyone still watching Spectacular Spider-Man? It was the black costume episode this week. Isn't it still the first series?! I hate shoving things foward pointlessly. Like when Gwen Stacy died in Ult Spidey. So pointless. Actually my favourite character too.
Happenstance Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 I wasnt happy with Ult Gwen going so soon in the comic but to be honest, I havent missed her
ReZourceman Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Isn't it still the first series?! I hate shoving things foward pointlessly. Like when Gwen Stacy died in Ult Spidey. So pointless. Actually my favourite character too. Dont worry, it fits in perfectly naturally, and you can consider the build up being about 4 or 3 episodes long. Its such an amazing cartoon.
Happenstance Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Didnt like it personally, was nothing on the 90s series
ReZourceman Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Epic lies. The 90s series is just a series of "oooh, an episode" This has far superior fights/korr ee og raff ee, and loads of little "ooooh!" bits that children wouldnt get (E.g. referring to goons by second name, several episodes before they become their villain iteration) the different takes on things ala Ultimate (Love how MJ isnt even in it for a good few episodes, how Gwen is a nerd) the twists (Was certain of one thing, then turns out it was another) character design, the fight scenes. The fight scenes. Oh and its genuinely laugh out loud for a few bits most/every episode.
Happenstance Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 I think the animation in it is crap aswell, cant stand the human characters
Happenstance Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Im probably coming across on my dislike of it, I just much prefer the 90s cartoon as I said.
Ashley Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Website where I can order the Buffy comics with P&P less than £4 (the cost of me personally going to Brum and getting them)...go!
Happenstance Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 I use http://www.reedcomics.com to get mine, try them
darksnowman Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 You comic lovers should take a look into The Dark Tower stuff by Marvel if you haven't already- which I hope you have. The opening series of comics "The Gunslinger Born" is pretty class, and very well drawn.
Ashley Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 £3.85 thats fair...but I'll see if anyone points me anywhere cheaper first Thanks
Happenstance Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 You could try here aswell http://www.comicdomain.co.uk/ but ive never used them myself
chairdriver Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 I didn't know wonder woman had a brother. Lol, I'm pretty sure that's by a gay erotic artist...
