danny Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 i had this game on the 64 years ago and really enjoyed it. was there ever a version on the GC and is one planned for wii. I thaught it was a nintendo license but i could be wrong.
Speedfreak Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 There was a GC game, it was pretty cool. Nothiong on a Wii game, but it's early days yet.
Mikey Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Get the GC game, it's pretty good. Underrated for sure.
david.dakota Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 1080: Avalanche on Gamecube. A superb game, definately one worth tracking down if you can.
Ten10 Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Yep the cube one was great, my only problem with it was some of the courses were pretty short and there isn't much to do in multiplayer comparing it to ssx games which is pretty sad since 1080 started the whole thing off.
danny Posted July 21, 2007 Author Posted July 21, 2007 well heres hoping it come to virtual console. I rember back in the day of N64 and PS1 it was by far the best snowboarding game around.
IMJ Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 I preferred the 64 version over the Cube one. I donno what it is, since those avalanche things were quite cool. Maybe i preferred the trick system. I can see a Wii version happening down the road once the Wii Balance board has made its way into many many homes.
Mokong Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 The cube version was great, i still give it a go every now and then and the soundtrack is brilliant, i went and got the albums of the bands featured in it, good stuff. Yeah i'm hoping to see them use that balance board for a 1080 Wii, to me it seems like the only "hardcore" type game they have that could use it, ad in the use of the wiimote and nunchucks motion controls for pulling off tricks and grabs, online play and bigger tracks and it'll be amazing. They don't really need to worry much about licencing music since we can ad our own with SD cards also.
Shorty Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 1080 avalanche isn't a scratch on SSX3. A Wii snowboarding game that uses the fitness pressure board and the nunchuck could be awesome.
Letty Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 1080 avalanche isn't a scratch on SSX Tricky.. SSX Tricky > All.
Slaggis Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 SSX Tricky > All. All the ssx games are brilliant, not tried the wii one yet though. I love on tour though.
Letty Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 All the ssx games are brilliant, not tried the wii one yet though. I love on tour though. You think? Personally I think the last 2 have been slightly dire.
Ramar Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 The cube version was great, i still give it a go every now and then and the soundtrack is brilliant, i went and got the albums of the bands featured in it, good stuff. Cauterize = Instant Win : peace: I hope they make a 1080 game for Wii, it was cool for Cube just a little short.
Guest Stefkov Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 My brother gave SSX tricky away somewhere. Finally got it back and I remember how good it was. Snowboard Kids > all snowbaord games.
harribo Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 My brother gave SSX tricky away somewhere. Finally got it back and I remember how good it was. Snowboard Kids > all snowbaord games. This man speaks the truth.
Shorty Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 SSX Tricky > All.Hey! Don't h4x my quotes or I'll edit your posts Tricky is nowhere near as good as 3. 3 was beautiful beginning to end, a killer app and one of my favourite cube titles! Hmph! Although tbh, I never played tricky. Did it have Radio Big? That was one of the coolest things in 3. If tricky had it, I might pick it up cheap somewhere....
Guest Jordan Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 I was posting as Letty earlier Shorty . It had the best radio ever, some OTT black guy known as "Razel". It had a great dance soundtrack to boot.
Slaggis Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 You think? Personally I think the last 2 have been slightly dire. Ssx 3 is awesome, yes, so is tricky, infact I probably had the most fun with tricky. But I still think On tour is the best, music (cept for some tracks on 3 which were great), style and overall gameplay. Except for the stupid monster tricks. Bring back UBER TRICKS!!! Oh wait, I just thought of all the character designs in tricky. Eddy lol.
Slaggis Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 They did. In Blur. they did? Right, I'm going to gamestation on monday.
Speedfreak Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 1080 avalanche isn't a scratch on SSX3. A bit like saying Gran Turismo has nothing on Mario Kart, but oh well.
Zechs Merquise Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 1080 avalanche isn't a scratch on SSX3. A Wii snowboarding game that uses the fitness pressure board and the nunchuck could be awesome. Now that would be awesome, really awesome. I think the WiiFit board could make so many cool arcade games so much better on the Wii
Cube Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 NST's only Wii project has been shelved, who knows what they are working on now?
nekunando Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 I wish they would hurry up and announce 1080 for the Wii... and DS In my opinion, 1080 > Other Snowboarding Games. The original and Avalanche are in fact 2 of my favourite games ever. They just feel right. With regards to SSX, despite being heavily centred on tricks a lot of the time, the trick system just never felt that good to me. Though I still really like SSX.
