James McGeachie Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Every time this goes up they seem to get more and more "secretive". Just keep in mind it's not deliberate. They seem to be scheduled to do these podcasts once a week now for the site whether there's stuff to talk about or not, so over half of them is dedicated to answering reader mail. Some of the questions are deliberately trying to get "secret" information out of them, when obviously in the event they do have anything like that they can't say it, so it's just silly for people to ask. Some of the answers in the transcript are actually almost totally different to what was actually said by the way. They just try to make the bullet points short and interesting, regardless of actual accuracy to what they said. random example: Q: Does Craig know secrets about DS titles?A: Yes, but he can't say Transcript misses the tone, he was just joking around since it was the same type of thing Matt gets asked all the time and was all "Oh yeah...sure, tons of them!" in a sarcastic tone. That goes for virtually all of them actually, the guys who transcribe this bullet point what was very light hearted and joking discussion as though it was a serious Q&A session. Also they keep saying "they" making it sound like it's the "IGN opinion" on certain things but like the questions are answered by different staff members who all usually chime in with their own thoughts and discuss a little. Anyway I know this isn't a big deal but with the flak IGN already gets for no reason it's bothersome to see these entirely misleading transcripts.
Hero-of-Time Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 Once again here's this weeks offerings. Rock Band- Underwhelming - comes very late after other versions, the great features aren’t in the Wii version - Can’t make own band members - Drums not wireless - there was an error on the press release - Sub-par stereo sound Madden All-Play - Visuals “updated†- looks like they’re tweaking with the system - 5 on 5 mode - easier to play - ex: throw automatically - Call Your Shot: Draw own shots - can do this online - Overall, gameplay more fast, “arcadey†- Bozon says this isn’t a bad thing - Core football isn’t gimped (not too much missing from other versions) - Hardcore gamers will go for the 360 version, casual gamers will go for the Wii version Tiger Woods - Feels good, graphics improved - Colors more vibrant, frame rate is good - Feels more polished, controls have been improved greatly - Game accounts for full motion - Matt is impressed with the game - Game all about motion - 4 player online at the same time (can see other people hitting the golf balls) - Ball Battle: Zoom in screen on ball with heavy metal music - point remote at screen, pull it in any direction - friends scramble to pull it (to mess up a player) We Love Golf - Tiger way better than We Love Golf according to Matt Guitar Hero World Tour - Looks like you can play downloaded songs right off of SD card - Proving things are possible on Wii (ex: downloadable content to SD card) - Experience will be like Rock Band - Every feature in Xbox 360 + PS3 versions will be in the Wii version Moon (DS) - Matt thinks Moon will be coming to Wii, wants to confirm his theory with the developers - Looks good so far - Good concept - PR guy that Matt spoke to said the game is a DS version of System Shock 2 FFIV - 3D, cool, very difficult game - There’s a fat chocobo - Even though the game is hard, it’s very rewarding - Uses FFIII graphics engine - Both screens used this time - maps in dungeons - Tons of voice-acting Guitar Hero On Tour - Peripheral works well - Some complaints: Only 4 buttons (but still difficult), cramp-inducing, song list isn’t as great as what you’ll see on consoles - Lame songs still fun to play Final Fantasy Tactics A2 - Very very good, but it’s the same - A lot like FF Tactics Advanced - Square put a ton of polish on the game Deadly Creatures - Something about the aspect of playing as tarantula is cool - Gilbert Gottfried providing voice talent for tarantula - Music, voices are great - Elijah Wood, David Spade providing voice work as well Sim City Wii - Being developed by Hudson - Looks promising - Draw roads with Wiimote, can draw curved roads for the first time Top Spin 3 DS - Good framerate - was a big issue in last version - Nothing really has changed - Gameplay is great, better than the Wii version Gyrostarr - Review coming soon - It’s a cool game but not amazing - Every level starts off slow - Will probably earn something in the mid-7s Reader mail - It is possible to fill all 4 pages on the Wii menu if you only buy NES games (maybe TurboGrafx-16 too) - GBA games on VC would be a good idea - the GBA is basically like the SNES - Abysmal sales of Boom Blox: Game should have been on WiiWare, Steven Spielberg wasn’t mentioned enough - marketing not good enough either - Madden 09: Load times are shorter, whole experience more streamlined - THQ’s Big Huge Games Wii project: Game still in development, not sure if it’ll be on Wii - haven’t heard much on it lately - Megaman 9 - not sure which system it’s coming out for - Dark Wing Duck RPG - whole crew would buy it if it were in development - Capcom’s E3 list (Project 1, 2) - One of these games is a Wii game - Matt says there’s more from Capcom for Wii - Final Fantasy 6 and Crono Trigger on VC - Square Enix loves to remake games - don’t expect these titles on the VC anytime soon - Leaked Silicon Knights footage: Not sure about it, Matt forgot to ask a guy who he met from Silicon Knights - Publishers imposing limits on reviewers: Part of the industry but MGS4 situation was out of control - Daemon started playing Wii Fit, feeling it working, Bozon done with Wii Fit challenge - lost 21-22 lbs in 30 lbs (did other activities with Wii Fit) - Talk about hardcore gaming dying: Daemon doesn’t think it’s dying - Block Breaker Deluxe: Breakout, but with a pointer - Where are the Wii RPGs? - Tales of Symphonia coming out soon, others coming out soon - In Wii Fit, the trainers’ lips don’t move: Would have required 2 extra days of programming (joke) - Matt wishes you could modify the trainer’s look
Cube Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 - Drums not wireless - there was an error on the press release Surely that was obvious? It's not like Harmonix are stupid enough to give the big/clunky drums an extremely pointless battery-wasting wireless feature.
DazzeL Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 After reading this and the IGN Rock Band review I think it's safe to say that it's a waste of money. Just wait for GH4.
Tellyn Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 I was going to. I don't have friends round for multiplayer sessions often enough to warrant nearly £200 for something that has been purposely and unfairly gimped in comparison to the 360/PS3 versions.
Hero-of-Time Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 This weeks round up. Chocobo Mystery Dungeon Wii-Daemon really likes it. -â€Great challenge without being too frustrating.†-A lot more strategy than Pokemon Myster Dungeon series. Job system heavily affects how you play. -â€Feels like a very polished last gen game.†Magenetica Twist (WiiWare) -Craig thinks it’s pretty good, but the DS verison is better. -Hard to quickly turn around because of the remote. -Disappointing that there is no online, but still local multiplayer. FIFA ‘09 -Not as good as PES ‘08, but will be the best this year because apparently there is no PES ‘09 announced. -Uses the basic system PES ‘08 uses, but misses features such as picking up teammates. Mario Super Sluggers -Initial opinion shattered (thought it was really stupid), pleasantly surprised. -Nunchuck support, you can play NES style. -Lots of options, minigames, and feels arcady. -Weird waggle stuff still, such as running faster. Same speed when throwing, no matter how fast you throw it with the remote. -Doesn’t feel as good as Wii Sports Baseball. Not better than Power Pros and Strikers feels better. -Characters that have different colors have different stats with each of the different colors. -Bozon thinks he likes the Gamecube version better. De Blob -Developers have apparently fixed the framerate issues, and that was one of the few problems that Matt had with it. -Matt thinks it will be fun sleeper title as well as Deady Creatures. -Doesn’t know what is going on with the DS verison, and they have only seen the Wii verison. -Some Samba de Amigo maraca talk. Nothing officially confirmed yet. -IGN UK really likes the game. Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People -They are getting more and more excited for it. -Great quotes in the game, and it’s very funny. It’s made for fans of Homestar Runner, and if you aren’t a fan you probably won’t get it. -Tons of fanservice in the game. Main title screen is like the site menu. -Made more for Wii than Sam and Max is. -Bozon said that the framerate wasn’t consistant in and earlier build, not sure if thats fixed. -4 Episodes coming to WiiWare. -Daemon will review it. Sam and Max Wii -Looks fun, but it’s the exact same as the PC version. -Bozon jokes about point and click brawler. Boogie Superstar -â€Boogie for girls.†All characters are girls. -Matt says that they changed the characters but unfortunately didn’t change any of the gameplay mechanics. -The first sold really well on Wii. -Bozon says that Final Fantasy 4 gets REALLY hard after about an hour and a half. -Send IGN Blast Works levels for a contest. Q: What do you think about Mega Man 9? A: Good addition to WiiWare library. Knew about it for a long time, but they couldn’t tell us about it. “Going to kick the ass out of Wario Land Shake It!†Bozon apparently doesn’t like Wario Land… neither does Matt for some reason. They say Wario Land “is going to be horrible.†I hate you Bozon. Q: Why no 4 player Point Blank on Wii? A: Who knows. Lack of effort. Hint towards to a ‘post E3′ shooter… hard to tell if their joking… they’re trying to be secretive I guess. Q: Why no GTA trilogy port with waggle? A: A question that can’t be answered. Rockstar games bomb on Wii. Q: Where can you get a paddle for DS? A: Answers… many of them. No Manga channel coming. Q: Arc Rise Fantasia excitement? A: Matt is excited. No one else knows what it is. Visually looks really nice. Q: Next balance board game that could be good? A: Skate It is not bad. Kinda fun. Cool use of the balance board that they can’t talk about yet. “Has potential.†Visual look is okay. All the city has been evacuated except for one skater… excuse as why there are no other people. Rayman 3 looks kinda cool. Q: Is Wii Music still being developed? A: For sure. Matt says it has been recently shown in Japan. Matt seems certain that it will be at E3. Q: Plasma or LCD? A: Plasma for Wii. Q: What’s up with Retro’s ugly site? A: Not sure. Thinks that it looks really ugly. -Thought F-Zero GX was awesome, despite what Miyamoto says about it. Craig isn’t a huge fan. Q: Animal Crossing Wii or Pikmin 3 first? A: Matt seems to think that it will be at E3 because the leader of the development team will be at E3, and IGN is talking to him. Craig seems to think Pikmin 3 will be seen first because he thinks Animal Crossing takes more time to develop. Kid Icarus will be at E3. Matt says he can’t wait to see a new IP at E3. Q: What’s up with long load times for 3rd parties? A: Nintendo knows what they are doing. Many 3rd parties are lazy. Q: Rock Band 2 for Wii? A: Probably will come next year, and it will still be a sloppy port. Says that GH dominates the Wii market. Q: Time Splitters 4 coming out for Wii? A: Not sure. Craig thinks a spinoff is more likely. Q: Monster Hunter 3 at E3? A: Truly don’t know. A lot more information about Fatal Frame 4 and Tenchu 4 and some more King Story stuff. Q: Soma Bringer for US? A: Don’t know… Q: Golden Sun Wii? A: Developers would like to do it. No details. Q: Force Unleashed or Clone Wars? A: Lots more Force Unleashed stuff this week. Not enough information on Clone Wars. Impressed by Force Unleashed. Responsive Wii controls. Q: Castlevania Wii? A: Knew about it, think its weird. Wished it was 2D. Q: Any word on a new Paper Mario game? A: Nope. Think Luigi’s Mansion 2 would be cool. Q: MLB Power Pros have motion for every aspect of the game? A: Nope. One Wiimote mode. Bozon thinks its really awesome. Q: Odds of Skies of Arcadia sequel for Wii at E3? A: Pretty much say it’s not coming. -Bozon has lost 21 1/2 pounds. -Sounded like Nintendo reps were excited for more stuff at E3. They don’t know all of it. Expect EA exercising games. -Apparently the new James Bond is pretty cool on DS. -Platinum Games will be at E3. Expect exclusive things. Mad World is ridiculously violent. Matt says its really cool, and it looks like a lot of fun. Matt has seen more than just the trailer. -Moon video coming soon. -They really are hinting at big games before and at E3.
D_prOdigy Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 They mentioned some "Moster Hunter 3 screens going around the net" and that "they look really sweet". Can anyone post them if they've seen them? I can't find them anywhere.
Hellfire Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 "Thought F-Zero GX was awesome, despite what Miyamoto says about it. Craig isn’t a huge fan." lol, I read an interview like a week ago with Miyamoto saying F-Zero GX was awesome and it had the perfect F-Zero feel, saying that SEGA did a great job or something among those lines, which was basically a response to a misunderstanding when Miyamoto was talking about outsourced games like Starfox and F-Zero and said the games didn't deliver (because they didn't sell and Starfox didn't deliver in any way).
darksnowman Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 What's that tune that plays at the start? I know it... but can't quite... place it... argh! I like how they are positive about Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon- I didn't expect them to 'get' it. I think its up to the job system, from what it sounds like.
Goron_3 Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 "Thought F-Zero GX was awesome, despite what Miyamoto says about it. Craig isn’t a huge fan." lol, I read an interview like a week ago with Miyamoto saying F-Zero GX was awesome and it had the perfect F-Zero feel, saying that SEGA did a great job or something among those lines, which was basically a response to a misunderstanding when Miyamoto was talking about outsourced games like Starfox and F-Zero and said the games didn't deliver (because they didn't sell and Starfox didn't deliver in any way). lol. That's what they said.
Hellfire Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 lol. That's what they said. lol, zero reading comprehension.
Hero-of-Time Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Another week, another Voice Chat. Facebreaker- “Party version of Facebreaker,†but title is misleading (not really minigames) - Graphics look great - art style is impressive, moves nicely - Gameplay has a lot of promise also, but Matt wasn’t able to play it long - Shot from the sideview, still a 3D boxing game - Very fast, arcadey Skate It - Still not a lot of gameplay available in the version Matt + Daemon played - Will be a learning curve, but it’ll be a “cool†way to play a skateboarding game - Daemon - Programmed intuitively - Grinding all about timing - Visually not too impressive - Framerate needs to be up and running - lag won’t be good for the game DS Version of Skate It - Developed by Exient - Looks very, very good for the DS - Draw all tricks on the touch screen, drawings are similar, so you might do a trick by mistake - Looks promising Order Up! - Latest version more polished, somewhat enjoyable - Kind of like Cooking Mama/Diner Dash, more control of what you’re doing - Won’t blow anyone away, but Matt would rather play it than Cooking Mama Cocoto Kart Racing - Looks decent, rip-off of Mario Kart - Unnecessary game because of Mario Kart - One control option works well though if you use it, there isn’t much of a challenge SPOGS Racing - Worst WiiWare game, ugliest game on the Wii - No license, but sort of basing it on Pogs game - Makes Virtua Racing from 1991 look great - Just a tire, not even a car or anything - Computer AI is awful (rubber-banding) - Two new Harvest Moon games announced (DS and Wii) - New stuff on Little King’s Story Moon - Single-player shooter - Good, but not as “wowed†because of Dementium - Saw it very early on, but so far not too much exploration - Puzzles related around a little droid - Not a lot to shoot when enemies showed up - won’t ever be overwhelmed - Will be very difficult to play on DS Fat because of the darkness - Matt interested in seeing more Guitar Hero On Tour - Received mixed reviews - Selling very well - 300K in first week - Amazing for third-party DS game AND with its price - Best selling DS game of all time for Activision - Craig was teasing about feature in the game that hasn’t been unlocked yet, will know about it in around a week (Craig already knows, we should know during E3) Away Shuffle Dungeon - Announced for US - Did Blue Dragon on 360 - Surprised Majesco is publishing it Reader Questions - Mario Tennis will come to the Wii eventually, according to Bozon - Ultimate Band will be decent (or High School Musical) for younger audiences interested in music games like Guitar Hero - Excite Truck not the only game to offer custom soundtrack (Endless Ocean, too but you couldn’t really create a soundtrack) - Funny emails about people asking to pimp their rides, someone who thinks the IGN Nintendo Team partially developed Mario Kart Wii - Look forward to (hopefully) Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Monster Hunter, Fatal Frame, any surprises at E3 - Mega Man 9 supposed to be at E3 - E3 fantasy surprise: Bozon - Miyamoto coming out botomless, Matt - Retro’s serious next big game - Matt doesn’t think we’ll see more Metroid at E3 unless it’s a remake of Wii controls for MP1 + MP2 - The IGN Nintendo team says they’re not ready for E3 - It’s pre-E3 for them right now - Matt & Bozon are psyched for Fatal Frame, but one of Matt’s friends said it had a weird framerate - should be fairly hyped - Matt will sell his Wii Fit to Craig - Matt will have a little fun at the E3 media briefing (it’s the highlight for everyone basically) - Wario Land for Wii footage (thoughts) - looks alright, it’s a 2D platformer - Kid Icarus or Man Icarus? Man Icarus (Icarus is supposed to be older anyway) - IGN Nintendo team hyped for The Dark Knight - Know 5-6 at least games for Wii for sure, expect more games though (gimmicky stuff and traditional stuff) - Pikmin 3 Party Babyz joke - Space Station Tycoon still canceled - New peripheral at E3? Bozon thinks they’re bound to, need voice chat and storage solution (not sure if these two will be peripherals) - Overall E3 rating hype: Watch out for crazy factor, Nintendo should have some good stuff this year - Other franchises that will get the Mega Man 9 deal: Bozon hopes for Castlevania, not too many franchises that would work - IGN stream keynotes up to Fran - Matt thought Elebits 2 DS would be for the Wii, but Konami still thinking about a Wii version - There’ll be a lot of RE5 gameplay - Daemon doesn’t like Civilization Revolution for DS, nothing like Advance Wars - We’ll never stop getting VC crap - More third-party games other than The Conduit need to sell well for them to step up on Wii - There will be third-party E3 surprises, but nothing too big - Joke about NGamer’s blurb on the unexpected take on a next gen-favorite (Bionic Commando card game for Wii joke) - Not too high chances for Crystal Bearers at E3 - Chrono Trigger port/remake looks just like a SNES game on the DS, won’t be coming to the VC - Nothing too much that has blown Matt away graphically that will be at E3 (don’t know anything first-party though) - Rygar was delayed again for the Wii, is still supposed to come out - If Kid Icarus shows up, that’s a big piece of fan service. Same with Animal Crossing and maybe Pikmin 3 - Star Wars Force Unleashed: 360 version excites the IGN Nintendo Team the most - Star Fox Wii at E3: Matt hopes not, Craig wants to see the series continue - Soul Bubbles review up, Craig enjoyed it - can only get it at Toys R Us - Chances of OLED for next handheld: Not high - New handheld this generation? Bozon’s theory: Will be linked with Wii, a bit of internal memory, GB, GBC, backwards compatible with DS, touch and rumble - announcement maybe this year, could come out in 2009
Retro_Link Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 IGN will get SLAMMED badly should Kid Icarus not appear, seeing as they've pretty much single handedly started the news/rumour. It'd be well funny!
Guest Jordan Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 I will laugh my fucking ass off if a Kid Icarus game doesn't appear. Seriously.
DazzeL Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 I'll laugh a lot. Then I'll cry some as I'm really hoping it will appear!
Goron_3 Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 It's pretty much confirmed that it's gonna be announced anyway. I almost cried when i saw the joke about the minigame pikmin thing...if that happened
Retro_Link Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 It's pretty much confirmed that it's gonna be announced anyway.Yeah by IGN!
darksnowman Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 I'm listening and... Space Station Tycoon is still cancelled. I remember reading about that game and being fairly hyped about it... I'd forgotten it... but remember it now. It had potential.
pedrocasilva Posted July 8, 2008 Author Posted July 8, 2008 I'm listening and... Space Station Tycoon is still cancelled. I remember reading about that game and being fairly hyped about it... I'd forgotten it... but remember it now. It had potential.Scamco killed it.
darksnowman Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 I'm at the bit now where Matt is talking about using the word "yar." How I love it when he talks about the Dark Tower. : peace: (It leads into the story about the c-juice... lol.)
Goron_3 Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 lol, zero reading comprehension. It's called listening to a podcast, not reading what some dude off neogafs posts about it. Lol.
Hellfire Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 It's called listening to a podcast, not reading what some dude off neogafs posts about it. Lol. Well, next time clarify, I'm not gonna spens all that time listening to a podcast :P
Hero-of-Time Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 *insert random message* Wii MotionPlus- Long overdue - Is basically what the Wiimote should have been initially - Measures subtle rotational shifts, 1:1 - Craig says it actually works, he likes sword-fighting - Craig “called†a new Wii Sports game right before Nintendo’s conference Wii Sports Resort - All 3 minigames were pretty fun - Matt liked the disc dog game, since you can see how accurate Wii Motion Plus is - worked perfectly - Angle, rotation played a huge part where the disc would land - Craig thought sword-fighting was really accurate as well WiiSpeak - Laughably made - Can put it anywhere in the room, cord looks gigantic (based on photos) - Made for 3 - 4 people playing on a couch - A third-party might make a work-around eventually (headset, microphone) - Can use wireless keyboard in AC: City Folk - Matt will remain skeptical until he can really test it - Nintendo playing it safe again - Craig Animal Crossing: City Folk - It’s a polished DS game - GameCube graphics, maybe even DS graphics - Eguchi was surprised when he was told the graphics look like GCN/DS - Scrolling world - No gestures for chopping down trees or anything - Could have been Wii’s version of home - Matt was looking forward to a deeper experience - City looks gimped - only about four stores - Craig wonders what is new with the game - Could end up being a great game, but not much different Guitar Hero On Tour Decades - Stream new songs to the old game - Cool technology, especially since this is on the DS 1st party games - Nintendo made previous announcements about DS games - Announced Rhythm Heaven, but not at the conference - was on the press site - Showed Wario Land behind closed doors, is a fun game The Conduit - Game of the show - Looks really good, controls are great - A little framey, but High Voltage promises it will be perfect - Control options are very detailed - Weapons inventive, use Wiimote well - Real-time FPS control scheme (can change controls on the fly) - At first, when Craig saw the game, he didn’t know that The Conduit was a Wii game - de Blob was a big surprise for Matt - the game is polished, really coming together, some great visual effects - Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 looks better, controls better than ever before - Matt - Matt likes Madden, too Wii Music - Worst game of E3 for Matt - 10 and under crowd will only enjoy it - First game for mainstream audience Craig won’t give to his parents - Cammie Dunaway is technically replacing Reggie, Denise Kaigler replacing Perrin - Cammie doesn’t write her own speeches, so Matt says we shouldn’t blame her for E3 performance - Give her some slack - Craig says she is very nice, the snowboarding story is true - The one writing Cammie’s speech (and Cammie herself for comments on HDD, etc) needed to realize the audience it was being presented to - There is clearly a storage solution for Wii, but someone needs to come right out and say it The good news of E3 - Miyamoto made promises - Mario + Zelda teams reformed - New Zelda is underway - New Pikmin confirmed (but should have shown gameplay) - Craig argued they should show a teaser or something for the fans - E3 show was a misstep because Nintendo totally ignored hardcore - Matt - Iwata apologized for the show - Matt thinks at Nintendo’s next event, there will be a lot of hardcore games because of their E3 showing - Craig loved Spaceworld, Matt thinks they should start campaigning for it to return for Nintendo - E3 was a “we don’t care event†for companies - no energy, places vacant Trackmania - PC arcadey racing game - Ideas from PC version make a good transition to DS - Create own tracks - Track can be edited in the track editor itself - Race engine is smooth, but some framerate issues - Fun, bouncy racing Wario Land - 4:3 mode is lame - Oldschool platformer - A lot of fun, hand-drawn animation is great - Smart puzzles - Controls tight, stylized - Shake it move is delayed a bit - takes Wario time to react - Fatal Frame in the IGN office Friday, should come to the US at some point Reader questions - Nintendo might show off some hardcore games at TGS or maybe a new Spaceworld - Nintendo understands the core, but Craig thinks marketing department is out of touch with core audience - Iwata makes final decisions for what to show at conference - Matt thought Kid Icarus would be at E3 - “What is true one day is not true the next and we don’t really make the news, we tell you what we hear†- Matt would recommend Wario Land to anyone, Matt used to think it would be a quick cash-in game (but not anymore) - We have to see if there is more to City Folk than the bug catching, fishing, etc. - apparently more to the online mode then Nintendo showed - Matt thinks there could be more that will be announced before the end of the year (Fatal Frame, other things Nintendo could potentially publish from third-parties) - Matt thinks Nintendo will eventually pack Wii MotionPlus with the Wii controllers in the future - When will Cammie be fired? Not anytime soon - Only 1 show, Matt thinks we should give her a break - Matt + Craig loved The Dark Knight - Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia uses the same engine as previous two DS titles - Matt wants to review Wii Music so he can blast it (Matt hopes the game will have something redeeming when it ships) - Is Nintendo holding back own lineup for third-parties? Matt doesn’t thinks so, no rush for them to flood market with their own software - Matt + Craig won’t be sad if E3 doesn’t come back next year - No word on Disaster: Day of Crisis, Matt fears the future for the game - might be heading down Project H.A.M.M.E.R’s path - FFCC: The Crystal Bearers - still in development, Square Enix had nothing to show - NOA not knowing about Fatal Frame 4 - The people being questioned were probably the executives, won’t know about it until there is a press release/are coached about it - Mad World was eyes-on - looked cool + fun but the style is a weird mashup - Game of the show for any console: Matt - Mirror’s Edge or Dead Space, Craig - Fallout 3 - Nintendo won’t make a switch to disc-based format in future handhelds because of loadtimes and battery power - Nintendo hasn’t released their own game for the VC in over 3 months - Matt thinks maybe Nintendo is trying to address all third-party games in their queue - Favorite instrument in Wii Music - Matt: “The power-off button†- Nintendo didn’t show much for the DS at all - Craig thinks that Nintendo could at least make a New Super Mario Bros. 2 on the same engine - There was no DS redesign because of booming DSL sales
