McPhee Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 cool iggy pop is playing at glasto. Playing V too Can't wait!
Been Insane Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 If you go do not pass up the chance to see Dinosaur Jr.
McPhee Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 Dinosaur JR are excellent! They played mid way up the main stage last time, wonder why they dropped so much?
Been Insane Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 When Dinosaur Jr played last time it was their reunion tour, Lou had just came back after well over 10 years and the original (and definatley best) line up was back together. I suppose people were expecting them to have a big impact on the music scene and thats why they were futher up the bil, that was in 05 right? Well now they have been touring around pretty much non stop (I've seen them a few times and met them, they are amazing live and one of the loudest bands ive seen!) they have recorded a new album which I don't think sold amazingly well either so I guess they just aren't seen as the big deal that they should be. It's ashame because people don't know what they are missing.
Sanchez Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 Bump for some new bands on the lineup, about 5 i want to go see.
AshMat Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 Which bands? Noticed Jimmy Eat World there, quite tasty. Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip :D If there's no one else good on i will go to see him.
Jimmy3000 Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 quick question to festival travelers! does anyone know a decent website to order tents etc off? i tried google etc but there are just so many and woukld rarther get a recommendation!
gmac Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 Millets and Blacks do some nice tents, don't know of any others though
Fresh Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 quick question to festival travelers! does anyone know a decent website to order tents etc off? i tried google etc but there are just so many and woukld rarther get a recommendation! http://www.outdoormegastore.co.uk/acatalog/Gelert_Quickpitch_Pop-Up_Tent.html Try one of those. When your there, a bit pissed, it might be dark and maybe raining you will be thankful.
McPhee Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 If you don't already have one then buy it when you arrive. You can use the car/rucksack space saved to bring more booze!
Platty Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 quick question to festival travelers! does anyone know a decent website to order tents etc off? i tried google etc but there are just so many and woukld rarther get a recommendation! I just got a new tent for Latitude festival im going to. Got it from Decathlon. Was £49. It's a 3 man pop up tent which are awesome as they go up in 3 seconds and are very easy to carry! If you got a store near you go and visit they have some set up so you can see. Here is the one I got: http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/Product_arborescence/mountain/hiking/hiking-tents/touring-tents/product_8030254/index.html All decathlon tents are waterproof tested and wind resistant tested. They say all their tents are ideal for festivals. Any of these will do: http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/Product_arborescence/mountain/hiking/hiking-tents/touring-tents/index.html
thirtynine. Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 What i did, was last year i waited around on monday till about 5pm and picked up some tents and a hell of alot of beers.
McPhee Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 My tent is a heavy beast. Always have a 3 man, with a big awning, all to myself. More room for storing beer and space to drink in if it rains :p
Sanchez Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 I'm taking a 8 man that one of my friends has, I'm going with 4 other people so far.
