Demuwan Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Really looking forward to Wii Online now. Good stuff on the horizon:grin:
Zell Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 So these Mii codes now compromise the "wii number" we've all been using.
Cube Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 So these Mii codes now compromise the "wii number" we've all been using. What do you mean? Mii Code - For playing against other people System Code - For sending things to other Wiis. But, yea, this does show that the System Code was added without much thought in online gaming (Pokemon Battle Revolution proves that....I wonder if US/PAL versions will be updated to the new system....probably not)
Zell Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 The wii code is basically only used to send messages or miis to other wiis and it doesn't seem like it's going to be used for anything else. As you said, it does seem as if it was added as an afterthought.

Brawl will almost certainly use the system code (I hope so anyway) for sending screenshots from the pause menu (Eledees sends screenshots). Other games with level editors will use it to send levels. So, its used for more than just sending messages.

Goron_3 Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Okay didn't know that. I just wish nintendo didn't confuse us so much :S They don't even know what they're doing half the time tbh...
flameboy Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 this is not apparently not true: Apparently the bit that has been reported recently concerning Mii-specific friend codes is not true. Our friend Falafelkid got in touch with Justin Dowdeswell, producer of Mario Strikers Charged to clear up the bit of info. Mr. Dowdeswell said that the information from the interview was either mistranslated or misconstrued. He has no idea how any other Nintendo titles will implement any of their online features. Huge thanks to Cheswick for the heads up gonintendo
flameboy Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 ......so what now? well there is still a possibilty that these "Mii Codes" will exist but that it isn't definite as we were lead to believe by the previous statements...so who knows?!!
DCK Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 It seems to me the guy does know what's happening, but has been called back by Nintendo because they don't want to unveil anything. At least, I hope.
gaggle64 Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 If it's anything like that whole Wii Zelda fiasco, Nintendo could very well be detailing Mii-codes at their E3 confence in July.
jammy2211 Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 Can I ask, how to you access your friend codes on Mario Strikers? I heard you go to it via an in-game menu, and that unlike DS games you DONT have it on a piece of paper with the game? Surely if you try logging on with two different Mii's, and get different Friend Codes, that confirms that Friend codes are Mii specific, which will be alot less hassle for us all . I agree with DCK, I think he said that and then realised Nintendo didn't want to reveal that news yet. It looks pretty promising anyway.

Better than the DS where you have to log in then log out to see it.

You don't get a piece of paper with the DS games saying you're code. it's built into the game.
ShadowV7 Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 Piece of paper.Where did you get that from you got nothing on paper.Do you have any online DS games or anything? Least you don't need to search for your "Mii" code when your online.
