MoogleViper Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Seems pretty good to me. Although I didn't really like the first Christopher Columbus one. The strange bodily shapes and proportions, didn't look like it was part of the style, more like you weren't very good at cutting things out. Also, what's the song?
Ashley Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Just the first? They were all the same models... which was meant to look rough. They look ugly, but they're my ugly little buggers (Also, and I'm aware nobody will know this, the intro bit is from the credits for my final film, which was thrown together as my composer wrote something awesome for it). Song featured is Caravan Palace's 'Jolie Coquine'.
MoogleViper Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Well you couldn't really see him in the second, and the neptune/posseidon dude didn't look as bad (although he did look like a chesty lego figure).
Ashley Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 The idea was that they were all basic solid shapes (what I call 'working within your limitations'). If you want to see it in context (and hear me putting on a stupid voice!) you can see it in .

I still maintain that Columbus and Giffinniffininy look silly though.
Ashley Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Thanks, although I must stress I was putting on a voice in that. They're supposed to look silly...because I'm shit
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 The Oracle games deserve much more recognition! They were really great.
Ashley Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Pretty much how I've been about art work this weekend: I couldn't even be bothered to colour in the tree!
Magnus Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 The curvey part on the Y doesn't match the curvey part on the other letters. Otherwise I like it.
Ashley Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 It matches the curvey part of the 'y' as its just the 'y' stretched Which particular curvey parts are you talking about?
Magnus Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 The U part of the Y is all bendy, while the upside-down U's on the N and H are straight. I don't know, I just think it's weird how all the other letters are so proper, and then the Y is all, "yo, I just flew in from Comic Sans, and boy, are my arms tired!" And I was sure it was two letters, because the top part of the bendy part on the Y sticks out a little bit on the right. But yeah, minor complaint/probably not even a legitimate complaint. Looks good other than that, though. :p
Ashley Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Pick your favourite! (1-16 from top left to bottom right)
Magnus Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 I think you should print a bunch of each and encourage people to catch 'em all.
Ashley Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 I do kind of have a related idea, but I don't have the time to fully do it (i.e. it would be more than just cards, I'm not just being lazy)

Eenuh Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 I agree with Dannyboy's picks. Basically the ones with dark backgrounds work best, probably the red one most out of those 4 as that seems to work best with the colour of the sloth.
Retro_Link Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 I'm not sure about where the Y and J blend on the corner... it's not seemless, there's an awkward angle there... it looks like you've merged to letter together to make it work, or like you say, stretched it. I think if you could smooth that out it would look much better.
Magnus Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 I pointed that out a week ago. If he changes it now because you said it, I will be so mad.
Rummy Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 I pointed that out a week ago. If he changes it now because you said it, I will be so mad. It does irk a little bit; if it could just be a straight drop into the J. Maybe replace the y with the h flipped round, merge it into the J seamlessly from there.
bob Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 I do kind of have a related idea, but I don't have the time to fully do it (i.e. it would be more than just cards, I'm not just being lazy) Speaking of being lazy, do you really want people to look at your business card and think of sloths?
Rummy Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Speaking of being lazy, do you really want people to look at your business card and think of sloths? Cmon man, that dude is hanging upside down by just his feet! I'd barely be able to hold on with my hands!
