Smiter Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/783/783358p1.html US, April 25, 2007 - Wii owners will be getting something that Cube owners missed out on all last generation. According to reports from Japan, the upcoming issue of Famitsu will contain first details on a Wii version of Guilty Gear X2 Accent Core. The Arc System Works fighter, which is set for PS2 release in Japan shortly, will also make its way to the Wii, with a Japanese release date planned for 7/26. We don't have any details just yet on what Wii owners can expect from the conversion. Once we have Famitsu in our hands later this week, we'll let you know if Arc System Works has somehow managed to sneak in a waggle mode. I liked Guilty Gear, so I'll be looking forward to this. Hopefully there'll be a good selection of control schemes.
Guest Jordan Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 What Is it? I mean like FPS or what? .... ....... Is that a joke?
UziT Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 woooo!!! Good time i decided to by a Wii (still waiting stock) wooooo
Smiter Posted April 25, 2007 Author Posted April 25, 2007 Nah, it's a 2D fighting game (assuming you are serious). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guilty_Gear_%28series%29 Guilty Gear X was the game that got widespread attention, partly thanks to its more detailed graphics. It was a hit on Dreamcast, and Guilty Gear X2 got a nice following on the PlayStation 2.
motion Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Never heard of it but good to have a fighting game on the wii
thirtynine. Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 I was being so serious. It looks nice. theres a DS version Japan only? Worth the import?
killer kirby Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Oh hell yes!!!! this is one game I have always been hoping would be on the Wii XD
Mr. Bananagrabber Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 I refuse to believe there's a 'gamer' in the world who doesn't know what GG is. Anyway, I hope you can use the classic controller for this. The Wii remote wouldn't really suit hardcore 2D fighters that involve a hell of a lot of nigh on pixel perfect precision.
gaggle64 Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 I honestly had never heard of Guilty Gear until this thread. But I'm going to assume this is a good thing.

The Wii remote wouldn't really suit hardcore 2D fighters that involve a hell of a lot of nigh on pixel perfect precision. Exactly my thoughts. I don't mind them tacking on motion controls as long as they provide the classic control scheme as well. I think there's a good chance we'll see a classic controller option, remember that SNK interview about the Neo-Geo? They said they didn't have the classic controller library to work with in the early days, but now Nintendo has provided it to all developers. I was being so serious. It looks nice. theres a DS version Japan only? Worth the import? Yeah, GG is very anime-like and quite stylish. Very solid fighting game and definitely worth picking up if you like fighters. The DS version isn't Japan only, Dust Strikers is also available in North America right now and will be out in Europe at the end of June. The chances of seeing the Wii game hit European shores is pretty good, we've had Guilty Gear games for the PS2 and Dreamcast here (is the PSP version here yet?).
Charlie Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 ........... Is that a joke? I can't say I've ever heard of Guilty Gears either.
Guest Jordan Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 I can't say I've ever heard of Guilty Gears either. Yeah but.... you're Moria. Robots can't play beat 'em ups! Also theres no s on the end of gear
Cube Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 I can't say I've ever heard of Guilty Gears either. Ditto. The name also (IMO) suits an FPS rather than a beat-em-up.
flameboy Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Well I've never played it, heard the name but never really sure what it was. Looks gorgeous for a 2D fighter!
Smiter Posted April 26, 2007 Author Posted April 26, 2007 A few more shots, at full scale and in PNG format: http://www.aintaer.com/ggxxr.html http://www.manga.sk/forum/showpost.php?p=108894&postcount=7 IGN has some, but they're in horrible JPEG and not full size, so they lose their sharpness.
flameboy Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 I've decided I'm buying this...I havn't bought a 2D fighter since Streetfighter 2!
Dyson Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 I refuse to believe there's a 'gamer' in the world who doesn't know what GG is. Good Game?
pedrocasilva Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 I refuse to believe there's a 'gamer' in the world who doesn't know what GG is.(Sega) Game Gear? just kidding, I'll be picking this up, probably.
Zechs Merquise Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 More good news, the number of games coming to the Wii seems to be growing and the titles are getting better.
Maverick Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 You played one guilty gear you pretty much played them all, they barely add new characters if you thought capcom whored street fighter you haven't seen nothing until you play more than one incarnation of guilty gear. I suppose its good news all the same i just hope waggle is not tagged on.
pedrocasilva Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 I suppose its good news all the same i just hope waggle is not tagged on.Classic controller is always a option. I actually loved if they added a online mode for this one actually, but it just doesn't smell like that in the kitchen for me.
