Dyson Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 How the fuck Deep Purple's - Smoke On The Water, has never got on a Guitar Hero game really puzzles me? One of the most recognisable guitar solos ever, hell of a tune too. The Vapors - Turning Japanese New Radicals - You Get What You Give Gerry Rafferty - Baker Street Although, I'm not sure if they actually were one-hit wonders...
Oxigen_Waste Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Gerry Rafferty - Baker Street How the fuck can someone call Gerry a one-hit-wonder? Also: 4 Non Blondes - What's Up Baha Men - Who Let The Dogs Out Los Del Rio - Macarena Right Said Fred - I'm Too Sexy(Too sexy for my shirt, etc etc) Carl Douglas - Kung Fu Fighting The Weather Girls - It's Raining Men Lou Bega - Mambo No. 5 EuropeThe Final Countdown Survivor - Eye Of The Tiger Soft Cell - Tainted Love OMC - How Bizarre Chumbawamba - Thubtumping Samuel Barber - Adagio For Strings That about covers it.
Dyson Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Uh oh, Worried about Ray by the Hoosiers is too catchy for my liking.
Paj! Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Just got Grace by Jeff Buckley and Rumours by Fleetwood Mac. They ere famous, so I thought I may as well. I really like Grace, yet to listen to Rumours.
chairdriver Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Human League - Don't You Want Me Baby That was a pretty big 1 hit wonder.
weeyellowbloke Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 The Vapors - Turning JapaneseNew Radicals - You Get What You Give Gerry Rafferty - Baker Street Although, I'm not sure if they actually were one-hit wonders... Aaah the New Radicals one and only album Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too is fantastic. Can't understand why they only had one hit or why the main guy Gregg Alexander didn't carry on (although according to Wikipedia he just got bored and lost enthusiasm, which is a bit disappointing). Anyway, yeah, I reckon their album is a good purchase for anyone who hasn't got it.
Dan_Dare Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Human League - Don't You Want Me Baby That was a pretty big 1 hit wonder. it would have been, if the band weren't pioneering genre legends, local heroes and critically acclaimed trail blazers....
Paj! Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Oh my god! One of my favourite songs ever was a one hit wonder! Nena - 99 Red balloons. I fucking love that song. I should really get it in mp3 format at some point.
Slaggis Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 I can't wait for American Hi-Fi's next album. Though there's no news as to when it's out, might be this year, maybe next.
Roostophe Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Just got Grace by Jeff Buckley. Good lad. It is an awesome album, I also recommend Sketches for My Sweetheart The Drunk and So Real. You've got Grace, get the other two. How the fuck can someone call Gerry a one-hit-wonder? Perhaps he was as a solo artist. He probably had a few hits with his band. I don't know...
Paj! Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Good lad. It is an awesome album, I also recommend Sketches for My Sweetheart The Drunk and So Real. You've got Grace, get the other two. Question you might help me with.. Theres 2 tracks at the end which it doesn't recognise (iTunes didnt thave the track names), do you know what these are?
Dan_Dare Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Question you might help me with.. Theres 2 tracks at the end which it doesn't recognise (iTunes didnt thave the track names), do you know what these are? on Grace? if you have a recent version it should end on 'Dream Brother' followed by 'Forget Her'. It should at least recognise Dream Brother though
Oxigen_Waste Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Perhaps he was as a solo artist. He probably had a few hits with his band. I don't know... Right Down The Line was a hit too!! And it's way better than Baker Street. Talib Kweli and Norah Jones really shouldnt work, but god it works mighty fine Who said what in the how, now? They collaborated? Where?
The Bard Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Stop with the random tracks crap! HEY BARD!!! GUESS WHO SAW BEHEMOTH LIVE THIS PAST WEEK, HUH??? Hell yeah!! And Apostesy is, as excepted, great stuff. Damn you! You dirty ape! Yeah...hope they tour in the UK sometime soon. What was it like? Frick, I could fertilise my lawn with the contents of that list.
Oxigen_Waste Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Frick, I could fertilise my lawn with the contents of that list. You have been missed. And the concert was... fantastic. As expected, Nergal remains one of the brightest talents out there, live or studio!
Paj! Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 I'm loving M.I.A - Kala. I kept hearing more about in the music forums I frequent, and I heard her on my last.fm radio. I love it. Very electro, experimental.
harribo Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007  You have been missed. You say missed....
Roostophe Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Right Down The Line was a hit too!! And it's way better than Baker Street. If that's the case, then I'll change my top 3 one-hit-wonders: The Vapors - Turning Japanese New Radicals - You Get What You Give Eiffel 65 - Blue (Da Ba Dee) Happy now?
Oxigen_Waste Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 If that's the case, then I'll change my top 3 one-hit-wonders: The Vapors - Turning Japanese New Radicals - You Get What You Give Eiffel 65 - Blue (Da Ba Dee) Happy now? Lol. Yeah, you're right, I was being a prick.
